I think this is a really clever idea, anyone that's ever tried kendo will know that its a hell of a work out. I'm not sure how well it works without a weighted sword but just the movements should and seem to work fine. The side effect of having 100's of women trained in basic sword fighting is an interesting thought lol

You dont see any flashy, XMA-esq stuff like you might with other exercise regimes that use a sword. Above all though, these classes are for exercise, not martial arts training. Sometimes I do similar things with my bokuto or shinken to practice proper technique and exercise my arms. Am I a disgrace for that? Even if they WERE flashy, its still intended for exercise, not combat.
