@Roger11111111 Apparently people have been helped by some of the experimentation that's been done in the past on Jews, people with mental illnesses, etc. Does that mean it was all okay? If it's saved lives, does that justify it?

If we passed laws allowing human testing, we might be able to cure cancer, AIDS, etc. Let's say we knew that we'd find a cure in 5 years if we allowed it. Should we? Would it then be deemed "necessary"?

Easier to say it's necessary when you're not the victim, isn't it?

Why do you think drugs are withdrawn? people suing pharmas? trials that go catastrophically wrong after animal tests shown the drugs to be 'safe'????

I agree with previous posters: it is encouraging to see how many people are coming around on this issue. We need people to stop believing giant corporations have our best interests at heart, and to stop believing their lies about animal testing, about capitalism, about our so-called democracies, etc. It's encouraging to see that people are listening to guys like Noam Chomsky (better known) and Steven Best (less well known).

@kimberlily1983 Just thought I would check out Chomsky's position on animal rights before I left this video. While he supports the movement, ideologically-speaking, he is not a vegan and says that animal rights are not his top priority. I can understand that - many people feel this way - but what we need to do is show these people that in fact veganism is morally necessary not only from an animal rights perspective but for the sake of alleviating world hunger, environmental degradation....

That arrogant moderator is so impolite, he never lets Keith speak one full sentence. Just repeats phrases he could have get from some lobbyists, has no idea about animal experiments, just repeats and repeats ordinary attitudes. I hoped this interview would give a chance to make clear, what the intention of animal liberation is. But interrupting again and again is so typically for such lobbyists and people who have no idea about the topic they speak about (or would like).
