  • I'm about to purchase the satin finish and studio sculpt, and my question is, does it stay on pretty well? like throughout the day? i feel like its hard to find a foundation that stays on like it says.

  • @xCassiex04 if you are looking for long wear in MAC I would say Fix Fluid or Pro Longwear. The other 2 are nice but don't stay all day.

  • im allergic to mac..... :(

  • awesome review it really helped!

  • hi, i am a girl from shanghai, china.I am very interested in the mac products, and I can buy this too,but it is still expensive here, so can we buy online? And can you tell me the details if i buy ?thx a lot, I am looking forward to your reply!

  • @y6x6h6 what information are you poking for specifically and on which product?

  • sy nK BELI MAC ne dkt shah alm ada x plizz add me ok...N

  • So I just found out I get an allergic reaction when i use Mac Studio Fix Fluid. :( Really upset because it looked nice on me.

But great review, shows that all MAC Foundations aren't the same

  • Are you going to do a review on MAC Matchmaster????

  • @uc1203 no mac foundations break me out- sorry

  • I LOVE STUDIO FIX FLUID.... IM NC40

  • Ive tried fix fluid n caused breakouts..tried msf n caused me looking like oil ball..tried the sculpt one n it creased thru my expression lines especially at my smiling lines..now i only use revlon colorstay..it works better than mac's..

  • Lisa. Which one of the mac foundation is ur favorite??? I just started using mac liquid foundation I can't decide which one between the sculpt or the studio fix???please help.

  • @mygizzy20 I dotn use MAC foundations anymore- but fix is a powder finish and sculpt is a dewey finish. I hope that helps

  • I've used the Studio Fix Fluid for over a year now but am feeling it's too heavy for day to day wear on my skin (although great for night time!). I really like the 'dewy' look and have been thinking of purchasing the Mineralized Satin Finish.. you mention about the shade differences, I'm a NC15 in the Fix Fluid.. should I stay the same for the Mineralized IYO? Is it a huge difference? I ask as I prefer to purchase M.A.C. online.. the girls at my closest store are so rude!

  • @ShareFavourites33 I honestly am not sure- sorry! Good Luck!

  • i hate the mac foundation i put it on and tried everything it still made my skin oily and brought out my blemishes !

  • Glad to have found you! Great video. I have and love the Chanel prolumiere in shade 20 Cameo, but would like to try MAC's Studio Fix - do you know which would be the nearest colour match to the Chanel please? Thank you!

  • @migsncharliesmum Sorry I am not sure- I dont know their color line that well. Good Luck!

  • Can you tell about how easy they transfer? Its my impression that the satinfinish transfers a lot and gets off easier than the other two. Is that your opinion too?

    tks!

  • @MsDaniLuv all mac ones transfer on me

  • Can you tell about how easy they transfer? Its my impression that the satinfinish transfers a lot and gets off easier than the other two. Is that your opinion too?

    tks!

  • Can you please make a video showing exactly how you apply the Mac Studio Sculpt foundation? Since it is a gel based foundation, I find it hard to apply it perfectly.

    Thanks!

  • @aolscamp sorry I dont own one anymore- I bought it 2 years ago and never repurchased.

  • @Lisasz09 That's alright! Thank you though, and if you ever come across another gel based foundation and decide to purchase, please make a video! :)

  • @aolscamp

using a wedge sponge or mac 109 brush(which i prefer using)

  • Wat wud u suggest for long wearing full coverage foundation for a party from 10 to midnight?

  • @XXJuicyMaria24XX if you are looking for mac studio fix- a great drugstore option is revlon colorstay or photo ready

  • I was wondering if you could do a video or just reply back on Oil Free Foundations and powders I have really acne prone sensitive oily skin and I wanted different options I usually use clinique oil free foundations but i have alot of acne scaring so its way too light. I hope u can reply or do a video for that, I love ur reviews by the way.

  • @mevbj9 I have a video on oily skin foundations or long wearing ones- I like Guerlain extreme wear and estee lauder double wear

  • Thanks for the help! :)

  • One more question. Do you think I should buy the studio sculpt to use for stage make up? The reason why is because I'm a competitive dancer so I perform a lot.

  • @ONQDancer101 I would suggest something w more stying power like Estee Lauder double wear or teh light version

  • Thanks but I really wanted to try the studio sculpt because you said that it has a lot of Shea butter and isn't that good for really dry skin?

  • @ONQDancer101 yes ti can be good for dry skin as long as it is not sensitive skin

  • Oh yeah and which powder should I go with?

  • @ONQDancer101 I love the mac studio fix powder! great matt coverage

  • I have dry and sensitive skin but I don't really have any acne. But I want a foundation that makes my skin look natural and soft. Which one should I get?

  • @ONQDancer101 do you want a mac one? If so I would suggest studio fix, I personally dont use mac ones anymore they break me out. If you want a non mac one I would suggest NARS sheer glow, neutrogena healthy skin or bobbi brown skin or estee lauder double wear reg or light.

  • would you say studio sculpt is a heavier/fuller coverage than studio tech or vice versa? of those ... compared to Smashbox Camera Ready Full Coverage Foundation which would be the fullest and looks the best...in your opinion...thanks!

  • @geminicheetah they are similar in coverage, but the application and texture are different. I have not used teh smashbox so I cant compare sorry!

  • would you say studio sculpt is a heavier/fuller coverage than studio tech or vice versa? of those ... compared to Smashbox Camera Ready Full Coverage Foundation which would be the fullest and looks the best...in your opinion...thanks!

  • oh i have a question too.

What MAC foundation would u preffer for me?

im 14 , i do have acne scars. not alot of acne. and redness.

you noe the normal teenager skin.

and i want medium coverage. and something tht doesnt brake me out.

what one is rite for me?

  • @BeautyMia245 it is hard to say w out seeing your skin- MAC breaks me out so I dont use it anymore- try Revlon colorstay it is similar to the MAC fix fluid but w out the price or break outs

  • i love ur reviews.

always to straight point. unlike other ppl.

tlk to mucha nd bug me

    lol

  • Which of these three would you recommend for bridal makeup?

  • @cellista09 probably mac face and body because it does nto have SPF which causes a white cast in photos- there are better brands for photos than mac

  • I own the mac studio sculpt foundation but I don't know how to apply it. I have tried using my fingers and it gave no coverage. A cosmetic sponge and regular foudation brush make it look cakey. I recently got the 187 but haven't tried it yet on this foundation. Any suggestions on how to apply it? Thanks!

  • @smiilexoxo27 I also just got it! And acctually the best way is using a spong! But you have to wet the sponge before use and dab it on and after blend with your fingers and after powder! Hope it ill help you! :D

  • @smiilexoxo27 I use my fingers and then i buff it in w the 187 until it blends in to my skin! Good luck!

  • you are so pretty

  • Thank you so much for doing the comparison. I have normal to dried skin, I went to M.A.C today for the fist time in a long time, looking for something with light to medium coverage and the lovely lady say you would love the Mineralied Satinfinish foundation so she match me to NW30...it look amazing inside and outside the store, a little dark but I'm okay with that. Long store short I'm Asian with dark brown hair and eyes, I thought I have yellow undertone but why NW30 not the NC?

  • @beautylearner911 It is hard to tell without seeing your skin- sorry

  • @beautylearner911 sometimes the lighting in the store may wash you out a bit, or change the skintone of your skin. When i was colormatched at one of their counters, they said I was nc35. But that's WAAY too dark on me.

  • I am concidering buying one of these three products in the next few weeks. I have extremely dry skin and its very red and easily irritated. However i am not prone to acne or breaking out. Which one do you think would be the best?

  • @peace114510 Let me know what is recommended. I have the same skin type..

  • @ACRammy1 dry skin I would suggest the mineralied satinfinish or the sculpt has more coverage! Good Luck

  • @peace114510 dry skin I would suggest the mineralied satinfinish or the sculpt has more coverage! Good Luck

  • @peace114510 I Just bought the Studio Sculpt (waiting) and I usually use the Studio Fix which is great but I wanted more a natural finish

  • I also have a Studio fix fluid and I'm a NC51. What's the difference between a NW15 and a NC15???

I really hope you'll help me out. :)

  • @Lakse95 NW is warm and NC is cool

  • how long dose the foundation last?

i'm thinking of getting a foundation from mac, my first!

i have normal skin and i'm a nw15 in there concealer

    plz help!!

  • @penguinwaffle2 are you asking how long the foundation lasts wearing it durring the day or a bottle of it? I like MAC Pro longwear!

  • @1942evelyn the Revlon colorstay is almost the same as SFF- or you could try neutrogena helthy skin- I love that one too

  • Hi your video was extremely helpful. i just need some advice. I have dry skin but oily around my tzone. i don't need a heavy coverage whatsoever. i have the prolongwear foundation. I loved it at first but realized it was too dark after awhile. and it also can feel alittle heavy. and there color selection sucks. So i was just curious as to which foundation would you recommend?

  • @kalayahkelly I would suggest the mineralized satinfinish- not to heavy of coverage and good for dry skin

  • This was crazy helpful(: thanks bunches!

  • @1942evelyn breezy for a pink and peachy keen for a peach!

  • hey please answer this lisa!!!

um.. you mentioned you have sun spots, how do you cover them up? or how do you fade/eliminate them? i have 5! x

  • @LoveJadeOlivia I get laser facials to eliminate them and good facial skincare to keep them away- i use a good concealer vichy to cover them

  • @kristalblair if you are looking for a mac foundation I would say the one you got is best- the sculpt is nice but it is a medium to full covergae and can feel heavy! I hope this helps!

  • have you tried mac pro longwear? if you have, how would you say it compares to the others?

  • @girbgirl I have not tried it because a lot of mac foundations break me out now!

  • how much was the pump??

  • @itsjustcahley1 sorry I honestly dont remember I bout it over 2 years ago!

  • How do you get a pump for the studio fix fluid since it doesn 't come with a pump ?

  • @jebcsya you have to buy it seperate! You can ask at your counter or store

  • Your reviews are AMAZING!

  • does mac foundations help acne prone skin?

  • @scattertheashes09 no not at all- they actiually break me out after 2 or more days of use.

  • oh i just bought the studio sculpt thingy, this was very helpful :)

  • aaahh thank you! I'm just starting off with mac!

  • hi im nw15 and have extremly dry skin i tend to break out alot so i need something with coverage but that doesnt cake on my dry spots like EVERY OTHER FOUNDATION!! like every girl i just want to look flawless what one is best also i have pink undertone x

  • @bonesfan10 also would the one you pick apply nicely with the sigma flat top kabuki x

  • @bonesfan10 The studio sculpt wont cake on your dry spots and it gives full coverage however the studio fix fluid will cake on every dry patch you have

  • @bonesfan10 i wouldn't buy anything dry, the mac wouldn't work that good on you because they do dry your skin out alot.

If you go to a drug store when buying the foundation read it and if it says moisturizing foundation Then get it !

It would be your best bet!

Also to prevent brake outs try this! :)

    - Plain Yogurt (It's AWESOME it will moisturize your skin like crazy)

    - wash your face once in the morning with warm water then with ICE cold water and the same at night :)

    Hope theses worked ! :)

  • @FuzzieKallies aww thank u so sweet tto reply x

  • I noticed the sculpt was dryer..on me than the studio fix fluid, i got it as samples..and the chick didnt even swatch :( so i had studio fix fluid in nw20. When i went there a second time, for my second purchase, the lady swatched, and saw that i was warm toned, so got nc20. :D ended up looking better.

  • @BluePudding483 fix fluid is a very dry foundation so it would probably be better for summre with your skin. Yoiu can set it with either one- MSF is more natural and Fix powder is more full coverage!

  • @laughalot3100 I do like it- the fix didnt stay on me well either! :o(

  • can you mix gel based foundations with regular liquid foundations?

    really wanna know

  • @Aviisawierdo it really depends sometimes they work ok together- sometimes they seperate- each one is different!

  • what foundation are you wearing in this vid?

  • @TheISABEL100 I am not sure- it was before I started putting in the sidebar what i am wearing. Sorry!

  • @Lisasz09 dont worry! you just look really nice!

  • for now my studio sculpt is finishing soon, like been waiting soo long for it to finish as it has this thin layer of sheen after few hours plus my oily skin. which is what im bearing with by blotting n touching up all the time. im looking for mac's foundation which has high coverage but not heavy feeling n not dewy. so is it best if i get the studio fix since i hv oily skin?

  • @Lemonzs studio fix is best for oily skin but it is heavy! So be careful! there founadtions for me are either heavy or thin! :o(

  • for the studio fix fluid, can it be easily used as a sheer foundation if I do the damp sponge/wedge method?

  • @ALMat101 t can but then it looks streaky to me!

  • Thank you so much for doing this :)

  • Do you prefer your favourite MAC foundation or NARS Sheer Glow foundation?

  • @IsabelJamsine I LOVE NARS SHEER GLOW! its amazing id recomd you get that onee because mac foundations dont come out that nice in pictures but it coveres alot but nars sheer glow is my life! amaaaaazing

  • @IsabelJamsine NARS IS way better! MAC breaks me out!

  • hii

i have normal skin and was wanting to get the studio fix fluid for schoool because its a cheaper alternative for me. would you recommend getting a shade lighter and using it everyday??

  • @simplicityx0 I would get a color to match your neck and using it daily!

  • im quite young and im intrested about the Mineralize foundation. i want quite light covereg and dewy finish. i have normal skin. is it too heavy for me?

  • @Beautyholicc Is this the new one? I have not tried it yet. Sorry!

  • Would the face & body work for oily skin? Also, at least medium coverage?

  • @angelweengz1 yes it is light and buildable to medium coverage.

  • which one btwm Studio Fix Fluid or Studio Sculpt would you recomend for acne-prone skin? I don't want it to break me out! Thanks..Sorry I know you made this video a long time ago..

p.s. you look beautiful in this video.

  • @trishdadish82 I have found over time that all MAC foundations break me out- but fix would be better to cover any inflamations!

  • Which one do you like best?

  • @xChocolateDreams I dont use any mac founadtions anymore- i find they break me out!

  • @Lisasz09 Too bad! but which one did you like best in the time you used them? I want to buy one of the three but I can't choose which one.

  • @xChocolateDreams probably fix fluid for my oily skin- what type of skin do you have?

  • @Lisasz09 I have a normal to dry skin.

  • @xChocolateDreams I would say the studio sculpt or the mineralized! :o)

  • @Lisasz09 OK Thank you! :)

  • @Lisasz09 im so angry that i spend $80 on the MAC liquid studiofix fluid; i have dark skin; the MAC makes me look EXTREMELY ORANGE and people wont stop telling me i have 20thousand pimples now.

  • @Natashaa01 unfortunetly the foundation is oxadising on your skin to turn it more orange and MAC foundations have been known to break some people out. You can get some Revlon colorstay in a more pink tone and mix it in and that should help some! Good Luck!

  • @Natashaa01 why did you spend 80 dollars for studio fix fluid?

  • Before I consider buying a new product, I always check your channel first. You have great reviews... thanks!

  • omg, im sooo glad i found this video of yours. im seriously desperate to find for opinion. i wanna buy the MAC foundation but i don't know which to choose. and its my first time trying out their foundation. im not really sure how my skin type is. but all i can described is, that my skin is dry. and the only part that is oily is my forehead and nose. so, which do you recommend? please help me :)

  • @AshKatalyst I would actually suggest NARS Sheer Glow or Neutrogena Healthy Skin liquid foundation for your skin type! If you want MAC I would say the Studio Scuplt but that is a heavy coverage!

  • OMG. this is the video i was looking for <3 i totally love you x10000000. hahaha. <3 gonna sub!

  • i'm about to invest in my first ever mac haul so i'm obviously doing lots of research & you've been an absoloute ANGEL helping me with this :) thankyou sooo much. i've subscribed :)

  • Great comparison thank you so much!

  • hi! i just bought the studio fix fluid a couple days ago, along with the studio fix powder because that's what they put on me when i was at mac, but now the more i wear it i notice that it brings out the dryness in my skin. especially in my tzone area. i've been doing some research and i've read that some ppl prefer using the studio sculpt for dry skin, and just wanted to see what you would recommend for dry skin, and also what powder that would be best, thanks :)

  • @brewster2828 I personally think there are better foundation out there if you are dry skin- the studio sculpt broke me out after a while but I am combo oily! I think if you want MAC and you are dry skin than yes it is better than fix fluid! The fix powder is great though

  • my only problems were: i wanted a bit more coverage, and it didn't last very long. do you know of a foundation which fixes these problems? and would last the majority of the day in the sun? (or what i could do to make the foundation last longer)?

  • @xocandyandcupcakesox the best one I have found in the sun and heat is sheseido sun protection liquid foundation - I have a review on it- amazing! A primer can help too! :o)

  • @Lisasz09 thank you i'll check that video out now! :)

  • hi! i have generally normal skin. with a slightly oily nose. and slight redness on my cheeks, but generally clear skin, but i am olive skinned. so really need a foundation which will even out my skin tone (if you look at people like kim kardashian with no makeup, that's what i'm like in terms of skin colour / uneveness). anwyay so i've tried the mineralised satin finish, and REALLY liked the dewy finish. (my next comment will finish my question!)

  • hi lisa im trying to figure out which foundation is best for me and i cant figure if i want mac, stilla, mufe, or nars! i just cant choose.... do you know what would be good for oily/combination skin with med to full coverage that you have tried that you liked? thanks

  • @murphygrlbyheart I really like the NARS sheer Glow and Sheseido Sun protection Liquid foundation

  • @Lisasz09 thanks so much.... ill check them out!

  • Hi! I'm thinking of buying MAC foundation and conceler soon at Macys. However do you think I should wait a little longer because I'm defitnetly going to get really tan this summer because I'm going on a Carribean cruise. Or do you think I should just buy some right now and then buy some again when I'm tan? I'm kinda looking for a choice that will save me money and be the best idea at the same time. This will be the first time I buy good quality make-up at a department store.

  • @cindyy2121 yes you should probably wait a bit and get a better matching one!

  • even after a year later, i love this video!

  • Hi! I have a dry-combination skin & I've been using Mineralize Satin Finish in NC35 for more than a year now. I love them and it's been my HG so far.

I like their dewy effect and the color match me perfectly although it's quite sheer & doesn't lasts long esp under the sun. I'm thinking to buy the Studio Sculpt. Would you recommend them for me? Tnx!

  • @Risya271 studio sculpt is a very heavy founadtion- if you want to stick with mac i would suggest the new moisture one- if you want to go outside of mac I love the neutrogena healthy skin or sheseido sun protection liquid! :o) Good Luck!

  • Hey there... I was wondering what you might be able to suggest by just FOUNDATIONS; something cheap preferably. hahaha... I have annoyingly combo skin; and im currently using Nuetrogena healthy skin and its making the skin around my nose look FLAKEY or cakey.. Any suggestions? :)

  • @kristaxhoward I like the neutrogena- the NARS Sheer glow and the Sheseido Sun protection- maybe you should try a primer that will help with flaking too! :o)

  • You are 100% right about the Studio Fix Fluid issue, I'm a NC30 and I bought it this past Saturday and I had to return it today for the NC25.. When I buy foundations I usually take pictures of myself and the NC30 just made me look "made up." I like the natural look and the color made me look like I was trying to fake a tan. I will see what the NC 25 looks like tomorrow...

  • which is the best for dry skin? i have studio scult atm but it seems to just making my skin flaky?

  • @xOMGZLAURA I would suggest a line other than MAC- I would say chanel Pro Lumiere or NARS Sheer glow! :o)

  • where did you get the pump for your foundation?

  • mac sells them for 6 dollars :)

  • @x0shutupnkissmex0 you can buy them at MAC!

  • really? bummer but it is still worth it because you dont use as much :)

  • @oohhAryi still prefer the pumps!

  • ive heard that mac foundations can cause cystic acne, i live in ireland so returning products is not an option. is this true?

  • @spudluver3000 some people do have issues with their foundations- I never thought I did until i went to other founadtions and now I realize the issue was MAC foundations not my skin! Be careful

  • What MAC foundation would you recommend to even out my skin, it's a bunch of different shades, I cannot tan evenly, but its noticeable if you really look, but not jump out at you noticeable. I'm combination oily and I want a natural look, not too matte, not too oily. Also I have a bit of light acne scaring.

I was thinking about getting the Studio Fix Plus Powder foundation, and buying something from clinique. Any recommendations? I have a mac gift card >=[

  • @milkseducerx0x Probably Studio Fix Fluid. It gives good coverage and you can apply Mineralize Skinfinish Natural over the top for a flawless look!

  • @milkseducerx0x studio fix fluid has the best coverage for more dewey finish try studio sculpt- I dont wear mac foundation any longer though! :o(

  • Studio fix fluid is AWSOME for oily skin i use it and is fantastic!!! studio sculpt has a great coverage but it get very oily

  • I totally agree!

  • do you recommend studio fix liquid to people with oily skin?

  • yes that is the best MAC option!

  • what do you mean with returnable? can i return it if i break me out? or what :) thanks great video!

  • of course you can return them if they break you out. or even if you simply think they are unsatisfactory.

  • Yes, in the states you can return them if they break you out or if you just don't like them etc.. but in England you cannot return them :( Not sure about anywhere else x

  • @TheSmile9658 i live in ireland and its sooo anoying!! everthin is better in the states!!!

  • I know :( I don't live in the US but I everything is better there. I went LA last summer and love it !! This summer im going new york, and seriously like everything in America is amzing :( Except the tax :S Ireland is good to though, I have irish family :) x

  • I'm in the quest to find my HG foundation... Help me pls! I live in hawaii, so it's usually humid, I have decent skin... just a little oily and lots of light freckles that I would like to even out... I don't feel that I need a full coverage (feels really heavy). Which foundations (any brand) would you recommend for me? Thanks in advance! :) Love ur videos they're so informational btw.

  • I would suggest Dior Nude (it is water based so it hydrates in hot weather too) Good Luck!

  • okk :) Thank you!!

  • Hey Lisa:)

I'm about a NC 42 in the mineralized satinfinish.. I was wondering about what shade would I be in the studio fix??

  • unfortunetly I would say you have to get color matched no two MAC foundations really match up the same! Sorry! :o(

  • hey i'm thinking about buying this but i have trouble finding the right product for my skin type. I get oily t zones during the day but my cheeks stay dry, in the morning when i apply makeup it looks very dry and chalky but later on in the day it will start getting oily how can i prevent my skin looking to dry in the morning but preventing it get too oily later on?!

  • some of the keys things are making sure to moisturize first then use a primer then a foundation. i would not try MAC as they are not the best- I would try NARS, Sheseido, Chanel or Makeup forever! Good Luck!

  • i have really oily skin, what's a good full coverage founation for us oily skinned ladies (any brand)?!? lol! thanks for the video girl!! so helpful <3

  • some great ones are MUFE Mat Velvet +, MAC studio Fix and Revlon Colorstay!

  • Hello, Im looking for a good foundation no matter the brand just looking for a natural but good cover look, What do you recommend?

  • I like Dior Nude, Chanel Pro Lumiere and Sheseido Sun protect liqiud! :o)

  • Hey Lisa - great video.

I have very light skin. Which MAC foundation looks best on light skin?

  • for MAC I would say Studio Fix Fluid0 has the lighter shades! :o)
