I'm pretty sure the Lernean Hydra was a swamp monster. Technically at sea he should have fought Scylla, but I guess I'm just being a bit snippy.

Wish we got to see more action from this, the Hydra could grow more heads if one was chopped off, plus it had toxic fangs and breath, but the screaming is a nice touch.

Ye basically you have to remember square,triangle,circle and X by heart, so u know which button is on what side..You also have to really concentrate,and you will get it dont give up lol.This is probably the best game I have ever played,theres so much replay value and its not even a multiplayer game.

Don't use your thumb. When the "O" button mash comes up, I usually quickly switch to my pointer finger and I'm able to mash the button much faster.

im of two minds, i will agree with you, god of war 2 is better. it feels smoother, longer and it looks incredible. And frankly the ammount available is greater also. However I will never discard God of War 1 because it is a brilliant game that I played through several times. However in the light of the sheer brilliance of Kratos' journey to the fates and the additional weapons, bosses, graphics etc. I must agree with you. number 2 is better.

The Hydra is actually pretty easy on god mode, just block and attack the smaller hydras and dodge and attack the big Hydra, after a few attacks you replenish your health and magic and the pole thing...Mash O VERY fast.

Ok a little advice for this fight.

Stand at the left side of the left "little" hydra and in that spot the right hydra can't use the breath attack to drag you to the right.

At that spot just use the square combo to take the hydra down quickly :P.

Is this no magic as well? You could've hit the big hydra a few times from the lower deck through the break in the railing with Poseidon's Rage, and then fill up on magic from the smaller heads.

I made about 2,000 exp in this battle my first time on god mode, lol. Thought it was a good place to stock up.

Not necessarily. The Hydra WAS defeated in the actual Greek story by Heracles/Hercules, whom Kratos was partially based on I believe (he was also named after the Greek character Cratos). Of course, Heracles defeated the Hydra with the help of something other than a ship's pointy mast.

He's doing NUR+, meaning he doesn't upgrade his weapons, nor using any magic at all.
