During an Athropy Nephrectomy operation I had last October to remove two out of four stag-horn stones doctors removed both 11 & 12 ribs in order not to puncture the lung in the process. I am still recuperating and I would never for just cosmetic reason do something like this. It will be two more months before I can heal.
I had this surgery TWICE!! And it was not to make my waist smaller but it was for Thoracic Outlet Syndrome (TOS), to relieve presure on the nerve bundle just beneath the collarbone and above the first rib (I had it done to my left and right side). I would NEVER have this done to make my waist smaller, I had to have this done to try to relieve severe nerve pain!! This is a barbaric surgery and the most pain I have ever had! I was on a morphine self drip for 5 days in hospital for each time.
@MissSherry73 i have a lump on the bottom edge of my ribcage that formed after i broke them. i am too scared to have it removed. i couldnt do it if you payed me.
@jgtheman84 If you don't need to have it removed, DON'T!! It is a barbaric & PAINFUL surgery that puts you in the hospital for 5+ days on a self-controled morphne drip (that is how painful it is), I almost died the first surgery as my lung collapsed and I stopped breathing. It is a surgery for only for who absolutely NEED it. I wish you the best jptheman84 :) I bet it is scar tissue on your rib that formed after you broke them, give it a few years to soften up! Good Luck!! :)
@missrussianbarbie i was too scarred to have a section of my ribs removed. the doctor was like uh i dont think this is gonna help you but we could try it i was like hello no. cya ltr.
Jesus christ... I heard someone on tv say "celebs get their ribcages removed" and I just stopped in my tracks cause I wasn't sure if I heard correctly.... so I decided to youtube it... and now all that goes through my mind is holy shit how vein can people be???
