James Blood's Quartet - "Rush Hour"

I saw Blood 4 times, met him 3 times, twice in NYC and once in Hamburg, Germany. Blood is The Hydraulic Pumper. Those lines are like no other. "More Blood" off the Black Rock album takes the Cake of All Cakes. Where is this guy from???

I saw this band minus David Murray about this time period. I was never the same again. The version of "Freelancing" that they were playing at this time was complete outer limits off the chain genius. I somebody out there has a video version of this band playing "Freelancing." (pretty please)

They worked together in the 80's quite a bit. Try the early Music Revelation Ensemble recordings if you can find them.

Thanks so much for posting this. People forget that for a brief moment Blood Ulmer and Ornette were playing rock clubs and seen as dance music
