  • Dogs are absolutely AMAZING!

  • Wow! I heard about truffle dogs before but it is just amazing to see. I wish I lived in truffle territory.

  • the dog looks like it wants to eat one lol

  • Haha! So cool to see man and man's best friend working together in perfect harmony. I take strange pleasure in watching both of you revel in your findings.

  • Great videos man, this is a beautiful lifestyle, and the dogs are so cool. The night time thing was pretty wild. Any suggestions where I might find info. on types of hardwood truffles in the mid west? I suspect there are loads of truffles in my area, just need to determine if any are edible. Keep bringn those great vids man. Peace.

  • @Earthwalker40, wish I had good news to give you on finding truffles in the Midwest, but unfortunately, I don't believe they grow in your neck of the woods-Only the Pacific Northwest contains native truffles that can be harvested in marketable quantity. Though, the Southeast US has a 'pecan' truffle and Texas has a 'desert' truffle, but they are only found in small quantities. Train your dog to find morels instead!

  • cute dog, deserves a great big new dog house filled with new toys n stuff for all the money it will bring in lol, no but honestly just enjoy your own harvest, we would love to see more in the future :)

  • do you need to let the dog eat them once in a while to keep them encouraged?

  • @picaticatara: Sure why not just let him chew up a hundred dollar bill while your at it too.

  • Wow!!! That one was so big! Congrats!

  • I must taste truffles and caviar, two luxury food before I die.

  • thumbs up if you looked this up after watching the simpsons XD

  • My teachers friend once found a big pile of truffles in a compost box, outside on his yard. This happened in Finland so you can safely say that truffles are found in many places! :)

  • These things are close to 400.00 an ounce

  • I like truffles in my Omelette.

  • "Ohh my FU-" *cut* "GOD!!" that made me laugh xD.

  • Awesome dog and video, very informative. Thank you.

  • Awesome dog and video, very informative.

  • ZOE ROCKS !!! Nice dog.Very lucky guy to have her.

  • Hope you found lots of them!

  • One of them was huge!!! cant stop thinking of the many things I could do it!

  • DUDE UR DOG SNIFFS OUR TRUFFLES, SIKEST DOG

  • 1:35

    OH MY FFF-... GOD.

    Bigggggg truffle, nice.

  • Very well trained dog !

  • I just found a softball-sized one of these in my lawn. Just like the one you found at 1:35.

Tossed it in the trash because it was messing with my lawn, is it worth anything? Who would even buy it?

    Your dog is awesome, BTW.

  • gutted!

  • I HATE you! Okay, fine... I'm just jealous.

    -skunk12

  • can they grow in indiana?

  • Wow that's really amazing to watch. Must be great when you find a big one. I think I'll train my cat to hunt for truffles in the Dublin Wicklow mountains.

  • good dog !!!!!

  • Wow, awesome dog!

  • zoe is so cool! she eat one of them with her treats! she deserves it for her hard work! lol! good job!

  • That one truffle you got was retarded big. You can make so many different things with those fungii....oil, paste, tapenade, and, all kinds of other great stuff. Those things are VERY healthy for you, too.

  • Do you sell these or just eat them. Do you own the land or is it public land? Is this a hobby or your job?

  • Too many questions bro...just enjoy life

  • @mycoexist too many questions? lol. that must mean you sell them at exhorbitant prices and eat a bit of it, you're on public land, and it's your side business but heck if you're going to tell anyone where you're at. lol.

  • @mycoexist hope you dont mind this question... did you train your dog yourself? Shes a real beauty and seems EXTREMELY smart... would love to know how you trained your dog... but I guess thats your secret... hehe.. Have fun hunting truffles!!!

  • @mycoexist

It only would have taken three words to answer...which you used instead to type a cliche, "bro". Watch this:

    Sell

    Private

    Job

  • @SaveTheWheat As is the case with many things in life, questions can't always be answered in one word, or three words. Why the flame? just enjoy life...

  • you are so lucky, nice one mate - enjoy. dogs and nature , just beautiful

  • this is incredible. starting this week, philbert will be learning to hunt morels, chantrelles and porcinis.

  • This is a great Video! Can you give any tips on how to train a dog to do this? We don't have truffles in our area, but we are interested in training our dog to help us in our mushroom finds. Thank you

  • I have no experience using a dog to find non-truffle mushrooms, but it CAN be done...according to what people have told me (ie. morels!). I'd start by playing hide and seek with your chosen (died?) mushroom. That's what I did with a fresh truffle. Who will be the first person to post a video of a dog harvested morel?! Come on world, you can do it!

  • @mycoexist my neighbors use there dog to find Japanese pine mushrooms , witch have a very peculiar smell , its kinda spicy almost , not fungusy at all, there worth alot of money. what do you do with them truffles?

  • lol your dogs awesome.

You should let her eat the truffles :--)

  • Mr. Black just was talking about you being on the radio. I missed it but he pointed me in this direction. It's good to hear your voice. Shoot me an email sometime :)

  • Also...where in Oregon do they come from?

  • Truffles grow (we also have white and brown truffles) in the foothills of the Cascade and Coastal mountain ranges, in heavily dominated young Doug fir trees. Thanks for your interest!

  • @mycoexist what is a truffle and what do they taste like?

  • @HellsAngels0012 A truffle is the fruting body of a subterranean, ectomycorrhizal (grows in association with trees) fungi. Its taste is like......like.....no other. Every truffle smells different. Oregon black truffles smell of pineapple and chocolate.

  • That was a Huge truffle at 1:48, how do the Oregon truffles taste compared to Perigord, Alba and Croatian?

  • I unfortunately have not tried any European truffles. Though, I really hope to one day taste and smell the french Perigord and the Alba truffles. The Oregon Black Truffle probably is very different in taste and smell-has hints of tropical fruit, mixed with a chacolate musky aroma.

  • lol its funny cause you could easily change this title, to hunting for hidden dog crap

  • WHAT DO THEY TASTE LIKE?

  • Yeah, Zoe!!!!!!

  • awesome dog!!!!!!!!!!

  • what I want to know mycoexist is... are you and Zoe just in the woods hunting or is this your farm?

  • Zoe is my hero!

  • awesome vid. do these only grow in Oregon?

  • what are these used for, do you eat them?

  • Yes they are one of the most expensive foods in the world

  • wonderful dog.!...how did she learn that?

  • So did you sell that monster? :)

  • Clever dog!!!
