  • With this caption, I have already written to the competent Govt authorities of India. 330 per cent more than required loan to Tata for Nano project is made available at 0.25 per cent per annum loan repayable only after 20 years. Further, land is made available for the project at throw away prices. Thus, huge public resources go into making Nano at low cost. But, people are not taken care of either by Govt or by Tata. That is my grudge. During TCS AGM, I personally requested Mr Ratan Tata on CSR.

  • are you saying he was loaned 2.3 times more money than he needed to make the tata nano factory? for no reason whatsoever? how do you know?

aren't you just a petty person trying to criticize a great man for doing great work to help all of india?

  • Sir,

If have to name one industrialist of India of impeccable integrity, I would, without any hesitation, name MOST RESEPECTED SHRI RATAN TATA. I have very high regard for him. I am too small a person to criticise him. What all I am saying is what has unfortunately happened in case of Nano Project is not good. About loans for Nano, political party Congress used Right to Information Act 2005 to get info and made public before general election to show what Govt of Gujarat had done to favour.

  • and these people are there of own free will because they want to work for tata?

  • My complaint is not against Tata or any specific person. My cry in vast desert is about the lopsided economic policies of the UPA Govt of India with major beneficiaries being the Capitalists in general while basic necessities of lives are not being made available to crores of citizens. The construction workers in the video is only one section of the suffering society of India. These TRIBAL workers are here out of shear compulsion for livelihood and not by choice.

  • We read day in day out, now-a-days, people dying in chilling cold in India. Can the industrialists who grow using public money can think of doing something to save their lives is a question that is bothering me. And, I do write regularly on such aspects to President of India, Prime Minister of India, Supreme Court, FICCI, NASSCOM, ASSOCHAM. It is my daily routine to pursue these larger public issues. IT IS MY PASSION.

  • @vaghelabd I understand and it's very good to care about others and I share the concern but is the tata factory not a good opportunity for those poor people to have some income so they can live more comfortably? don't they come there because without the factory their options would be much worse? that you are wrong to blame tata and the local government for their poverty when they have worked to provide jobs for people?

I don't know the region but perhaps it's good in a bad situation

  • It has not been my intention and it will never be my intention to blame anyone. As a person thinking on positive lines, I always talk in terms of improvement required and possible. In this particular case, Tata has been the incidental beneficiary and hence, while writing to Tata, I have made a sincere effort to highlight the plight of the workers in India in unorganised sector who are not being taken care of but should be.

  • perhaps you can write to Tata and suggest they offer the workers a tent and good sleeping bags in exchange for a small reduction in pay. until they can get better living conditions. or they can have a program where tata supply building materials and they help eachother build little houses, paid for with their salaries. just blaming tata and government for offering people jobs is perhaps too easy

  • Perturbed at the no. of unfortunate deaths occurred due to prevailing severe winter which is a common feature in India and is considered fait accompli, I made a personal appeal to Chief Minister of Gujarat to provide these workers some help. Non response to suggestions or complaints is a common feature but undeterred I continue to make personal direct appeals to the concerned authorities by email. Routinely.

  • Sir,

You may like to view my other videos, on different topics, reflecting my joys, my sorrows and my concerns as available on Youtube under VAGHELABD. In Google, if you type VAGHELABD or my name Babubhai Vaghela, you will be in a position to know about the larger public issues that I take up on daily basis. I am on Twitter also as BabubhaiVaghela. My ID vaghelabdATyahooDOTcom is in public domain. I am also the Administrator of Google Group Right to Information Act 2005. Regards, Babubhai.

  • @DanFrederiksen You would be happy to note that the Supreme Court of India has issued direction to the Delhi Govt to provide protective clothing and water to the homeless persons suffering in winter.

  • : )

  • :-) :-) :-)

  • you make it sound like those people are there because of tata. but what are we looking at? what's the backstory?

  • Kindly see my comments just posted. Public money needs to be better utilised for reducing misery of the people who contribute towards the economic growth of India. Housing, Education, Health are priority issues that do not get sufficient allocation but capitalists, not only Tata, get public money on other non-priority issues. I regularly on daily basis take up such issues by email using my Google Group - Right to Information Act 2005 and through Twitter at BabubhaiVaghela.

  • Huge unorganised sector in India is a highly exploited lot. Majority of the Corporates in India do it with tacit support of the Govt. However, Tata is one who have been sincerely performing their Corporate Social Responsibility. I do not blame Tata.
