Power brakes still worked okay? Or did you have to install a vaccum reservoir? Im working on a 91 chevy with a 383 build, was looking into the comp cams. They say there a very streetable cam. Sounds good man!
have you tryed typing "california emmisions" in the youtube search box?
then try google search,
For guys like you and myself we'll need to find something pre-smog. I think pre smog cars are funner anyways, problem is people are hanging on to them.
I actually want to pre-smog vechicles, 1 for everyday driver, and 1 muscle car/truck.
Save your money and go pre-emmision rather then trying to hot-rod your late model which needs smog testing every 2years. I did, I was about to poor about $5k into my 1994 GMC, TBI 350. I was going to build a 383 and pray to pass emissions, Then I camr across a nice 1973 Chevy C10, shortbed, stepside w/ 0.030 454, TH400, and 12 bolt rear. This way you have an everyday driver, and a weekend cruiser/muscle truck, or whatever you want.
Yup, sounds good! I have the largest one in mine but I went with the Flowmaster 44's and I'm not impressed with them.. Mine is now very well tuned with the carb and will roast the tires by just mashing the pedal (no brake torque required).
How much vaccume do you have at idle? I have the big mutha thumpr roller version in my sbc and it only has 5to 6 inches of vaccume. Did you have any issues tunning your carb to this cam and any off idle bogs? Nice truck man Chevy rules.
Im going to say around yours but im going to install a vaccum tank as well pretty cheap. As far as the carb goes it was a long drawn out mess of adjusting but we had several issues and ended up not nunning the ele. choke it was becoming a problem it was boging the motor all the time. the cam is nice makes pretty good power everybody told me to go with a different one but im glad I stuck with my pick LOVE the IDLE!!!!!!!
Sounds awesome! Now, post a burnout video so ap72 and his plethera of camshaft knowlege can tell you how you could have laid 6 more inches of rubber with a more mild cam. Oh hold it...im sure he is building an engine, beacuse you know he is quite an experienced engine builder......hahahahahahahaha
Come to OKC!!!! bump that thing to a 210cc get a dual plane manifold some thumper thumpers go crazy!!!!!

Cant run a camshaft like this in Caliifornia, Ca is sorry like that.
Livin in Ca you gotta smog everything after 1974, even new cars that dont need fuckin smog.
Why does a brand new car need to be smoged while under warranty?
Ca is a money hungry mother fucker, and you cant run hi-performance auto parts.

Awesome, I would totally have done this to my 95 Chevy if it wasn't for fucking emissions.
JetForceF22 2 years ago
here in Massachusetts, only 96 and newer vehicles need emissions, you should check yours out
leet413 2 years ago
Maryland is bullshit. I still gotta do emissions tests every year.
