Well, you cannot compare FRAGILE European car with TOUGH Japanese car. If you ever had Audi, VW, rangerover, volvo, Benz, etc, then you know how annoying they are. But for middle class people Toyota, Honda, Nissan are well known for their reliability and hold their value well in used market

I'm from Vietnam and I drive a toyota zace...for the whole time I think the car was designed by japanese people but now I knew the truth...Indonesian, u r the legend when create Zace toyota...very good car, easy to fix, replace accessories

Indonesia actually able to make a homemade car, almost all components thats car 80 s / d 90 % made in the country , but why we don't create their own brand ? like Kia with Mazda, and protons with a mitsubishi? I was proud with the Indonesian national car TIMOR ,

@meongspeedndut Actually,to be honest,TIMOR's marketing strategy isn't really that good.Because the cars were assembled in Korea,that means it's very expensive when being imported here due to the tax and tariffs.So it's a failure,they should've built the factory here.

What. Timor is 100% copy of KIA Sephia, the same with cakra bimantara=Hyundai Elantra. It doesn't deserve national car at all. Kijang and panther are true national car. Honda, Yamaha, and Suzuki bebek are true national motor bikes.

Do you not know, KIA it is a copy of the Mazda, and the proton is a copy of the Mitsubishi, and All Japanese car is a copy of europe, and people get science from GOD (ALLAH) and God gave science to All human in this world , ok back to topic ,this about natioonality problem, is not a problem of history of car manufacturing. :)

@Jake7206 well,grand livina is more modern with high tech eco friendly fuel efficient engine and ofcourse,better comfort.However,if you love collecting classic/antique cars,you would choose the Unser.The Unser has higher ground clearance which is effective when travelling on bad roads.

@soni482 Kuda came from Taiwan,but the name is converted into " kuda " in Indonesia,and Grand Livina is actually Nissan Livina Geniss which is designed in China but later renamed in Indonesia as Grand Livina

philippines locally assembled for toyota kijang at 1977... but in 1978 Philippines, car production was transferred to Indonesia .. very true this car came from the Philippines, but from 1978 until toyota innova (now) became the original design of the car Indonesia..

@kamotecueman toyota kijang wasn't really designed here in the Philippines mainly because we see a lot of tamaraw FX here. It's was really designed in Indonesia and it's the third generation of the Kijang line. The Innova was also designed in Indonesia and is also in the Kijang series. Its official name is Toyota Kijang Innova.

proton cars are pretty good for its price, they even bought lotus few years ago.

Whilst indonesia can't have their own brand, they decided to design family car/ppl carrier under japanese brand.

Both has good side or drawbacks..and they took different approach that's it
