  • good job done....we tried and and it became a gr8 success. I'm lovin' it

  • the commercials are rubbish.wtf

  • Lol Hetal at 0:58 love you guys

  • Hi Hetal and Anuja,

Thanks a lot for this recipe. I had planned to make this a few months back, but some1 told me that there is a specific kind of jaggery to be used for making the 'tilgul laduus'. It is called 'Chikki Gud', which i did not find in any indian stores so i let go of my plan! Please tell me which kind of gud do you use for this. There are various shades/colors of Gud in the stores, which one is recommended? Thanks a lot!

  • @shailshri

We think that different processing, crops, etc produce different colors in jaggery. We have used both the light and the dark at different times and both have worked. Chikki gud may be available in India but in our Indian grocery stores, the packaging always reads "Jaggery" with no other distinction.

  • @ShowMeTheCurry

Thanks a lot for your reply! I will try this recipe with the jaggery which is available in the stores :-)

  • okay guys... left or right? ;D

  • what can we use instead of JAGGERY!!

  • @26150375

We have not tried this recipe with sugar or brown sugar but some say that it is a possibility.

  • @VPP111

You may have to let the video buffer before watching depending on your internet speed. Press Play, then Pause until the status bar goes all the way to the end. You can then Play.

  • ACHTUNG !!!!!

The video is now hanging up at the 1:10 mark - does the same thing on your own site.

Is it my karma that I will never get to cook Til Sankari?

And just who decided to switch from SMTC aprons to delightful designed dresses?

  • @timbits2

  • any other seed to use

  • @oKeegan

We have not tried any other seeds but you could just add only peanuts.

  • ohh i knw this ....had tried once eheheheh

    looks nice

    <3

  • couple questions: what exactly is jaggery, can i substitute it with something else? if i was to use more sesame seeds instead of peanuts about how much do you think i should add?

  • @faylinameir

Jaggery is made of the products of both sugarcane and the sap of the coconut flower(before it opens from the hard cover...When u tap the flower, juice will come out will be collected toa earthnware pot hang on the flower..it's a long process. You should try and drink Coconut toddy(before they make jaggery)..u will be heaven after that...so sweet and aromatic..really good taste..if u keep it long time, it will turns to Vinegar.

  • @faylinameir

Jaggery is a raw form of cane sugar. Some people have tried this recipe with brown sugar or regular sugar, but we have personally not tried it. You can replace the same amount of sesame seeds as peanuts.

  • Yummyyyyyyyyyyyyyy

  • Thumbs up if you think Anuja is hot!

  • Can we sugar rather jaggery if yes how much.

  • looks delicious

  • can u make Kulchey sholey ... like the 1ce u get on the streets of india .. on a CyCLE . and a gharra ..

  • LOVE your blouses, ladies.

  • Ya'll are looking well congrats!

  • this anjula thing talks so much

  • very good !!

  • where do you get jaggery?

  • @Thestargazer000 an Indian food store or Asian market

  • @Thestargazer000

U can buy jaggery from any Indian or Sri Lankan spice shop or Indonesian made Palm jaggery are available in any Chinese grocery shop..Some people it call Palm Sugar..small cylindrical shape and it's around 1.5" in diameter and 5" long...it's fairly cheap stuff.

  • I love this show. Some people are asking about using sugar instead of jaggery. I recommend using jaggery because it is unrefined sugar made from the juice of crushed sugar cane stalks and not toxic like refined sugar.

  • @AECSRQ refined sugar is not toxic, it's pure sucrose. But the taste is definitely different.

  • @subtilezaobvia There is nothing 'pure' about refined, processed sugar. Check your facts on chemical industrial food manufacture. Candida, Cancer, Diabetes, & Obesity studies indicate you are dead wrong. I suggest following the Indian recipe with jaggery. India has a larger population with a far lower incidence of dietary disease.

  • @AECSRQ The fact that sugar is a problem in modern food industry does not mean that it is toxic. Jaggery is also sweet and if misused it will be as bad as refined sugar. The definiton of toxicity is linked to intake (dose dependency). I agree with you that it's not good to take too much sugar, but choosing one type over the other has more to do with flavour than health issues.

  • @subtilezaobvia Respectfully I refer you to page 230 of the text "Ayurvedic Cooking for Self-Healing" by Dr. Vasant Lad and Usha Lad where there are tables listing all forms of sweetener according to their biochemical effects on all body types. White sugar is to be avoided by all types. Nothing to do with dosage and even less to do with flavor. It's biochemistry.

  • @AECSRQ respectfully refer to a biochemistry book... I am a biochemist.

  • @subtilezaobvia oh really? evidently not a very good one.

  • @AECSRQ if you're getting into ad hominem argument, you can keep talking alone. But in the meanwhile please refrain classifying sucrose as a toxin. Thank you, and have a nice day.

  • Hello,

Another great video! I gained about 3 pounds just watching it :) LOL. I still want to know how you eat all this good tasty food and look like movie stars? Would you consider doing a "tip Tuesday" segment on how you keep such nice figures while eating sugar and carbs? I am so envious!!! I know you work out, but inquiring minds want to know some beauty secrets. You both have beauty secrets, and your fans demand to know about them :) LOL Please tell us!!!

    Rebecca
