  • Bravooo!!!! Juan Diego, que talentoso y correcto es este tenor!!! Su bella voz sirve muy el texto de Gluck!!!Bravooo!!!, gracias por compartir con todos nosotros!!!

  • I prefer women singing this aria!!

his voice is too strong, he shouts!!

and his french is rather bad

  • I prefer women voice for this aria, just listen to Elisabeth Schwartzkoph....she's amazing !!!! in italien is better "che faro senza Euridice"

he is too stong, he shouts

  • @padronaserva If you prefer a woman singing this aria, why the hell are you looking for this? go to Elisabeth's posts

  • There's nothing surprising about Orfeo being sung by a tenor. This is the 1774 Paris version -Orphée et Eurydice-, revised by Gluck and with a tenor singing the part.

  • orfeo un tenore?

  • @donalfonsotube

Like you I'm surprised to listen to this aria sung by a man but I do like it.

At last it has been done. Apart from that point J.D. Florez sings French

    perfectly.

  • @dacor31 i don't like it!

    I prefer women singing

  • this is my favorite rendition of this aria.

  • he sounds a bit tired here. and the orchestra is terrible in my opinion

  • ¡¡¡SUPREMO JUAN DIEGO¡¡¡ Heredero, in-

    discutible, de las antologicas versiones,

que grabararon en el disco, y dejaron pa-

ra siempre un enorme recuerdo, Simone-

au y Gedda; Y ahora Juan Diego, viene, y

    completa, con su ¡¡Suprema Interpretaci-

on!! Una Trilogia perfecta, e, imposible de

    de superar.

  • Splendid. Thank you for posting this.

  • Try Richard Croft's version : although the voice is darker (which is, in my opinion more appropriate considering the theme of the aria), it's as flexible as Florez's (if not more). Moreover, although Florez's tone is very nice, it gets a bit shrilly at times as opposed to Croft's velvety timbre. All in all, Croft & Florez are wonderful artists, but my preference goes to Croft.

  • I prefer the velvety sound . . . that's a good word, rather than ''dark. ''

  • Does anyone know the painter and/or provenance of the painting starting at 00:28 into the video? It is clearly Orpheus and Eurydice farewelling Pluto and Persephone when they leave the underworld.

  • Orpheus and Eurydice, Pierre-Paul Rubens.

  • ´Rara avis una persona con su cultura pictórica y musical !! La felicito, y gracias por haberla hecho llegar a nosotros.
