I have two budgies that are 7 months old now,I bought them at 10 weeks old from pet shop. they are the most boring and stupid budgies. When I finally manage to get one budgie out the cage offering millets, it doesnt know how 2go back in through the cage door.it sits for ours on end on top of the cage chirping trying to go back in the cage, so my mother has to man handle it and put it back in the cage.they are both sooooooo STUPID and boring,I so desperetely want to sell them

Joey's quite lovely. =) I love it when parakeets enjoy tagging along like that. He does make me miss our Bluebelle who passed away a few years back. She didn't "talk" but she gave great "kisses," including smooching sounds and putting her beak up by our lips.... Usually followed with a happy head bobbing!

What do you suggest a 20 year old male thats deciding to be a budge from Petsmart and that is working 4 days a week?I really want a budgie really bad and don't know where i could find a budgie breeder in maryland.If it were up to me..i would love to find a budgie breeder so i can have a budgie as a baby and tame it from the beginning..but the thing is, i dont know how old the budgies in petsmart are and it seems like they feel very comfortable around their budgie friends in the store.please help
Whatever you do, don't buy from Petsmart if you want to train it to talk, I've been there and looked at them, they are not babies, check on your computer for a breeder, or a small pet shop that might get in young ones their cere must be a very light color , if it's blue or tan, its not a baby. the colors are for a male or female.
I have a blue keet that is naturally very friendly his cage mate is not though since I have dogs I dont take him out and i dont want him to fly into ceiling fan etc and get hurt he is still friendly in cage.
My parakeet will get on my finger but is afraid to come out and ive had him for a year. He wont even come out on his own explain how to fix that plzzz,
@kill971000ify Sometimes when they are in their cages for extended periods, the cage becomes the surroundings they are most familiar with, so they don't like to venture out. If your bird would allow you to put your hand around him take him out that way. If not just continue trying to get him out on your finger and I think he eventually will.
@kill971000ify You need to spend more time with your bird. I take Charlie out every day and have him on my shoulder while I do my regular routine. He flies straight to my shoulder now :)

@steven74666 Less likely. Also if you have two birds, less likely. If the bird is going to be alone alot, you should have two. I have one male and spend lots of time with him. He has not learned to talk yet but is squeaky and trying :)
I used to own a budgie that had the same exact name as yours. I had him for ten years. He died a couple of weeks ago from old age. However, he lived a very good life.
@Aqworlds68 You have to talk to him like he's a person! When he makes a sound that YOU can make, make that noise! :) Use same word like Here's your food when you're giving him the food. Try learning bird haha !

@GoneToTheDoggy This is how I tamed my bird. Stick yer hand in there and touch him. I've almost got this bird tame enough to lay on his back in my my hand while I give him a bird massage. It's all about trust. Imagine something as big as a building trying to touch you! Scary!

Well about taming(not training) its super simple, you just have to feed to budgie from the hand so it comes familiar you got to let the budgie fly in a room (where he lives and closed windows) before it knows how to fly. and just be familiar to.

Yep it is, but make sure that u close ur windows, and roll down ur curtains, because if u dont roll down ur curtains, it will think that there is no window, and it will bump right into it.

yeah you need to cut its wings it dose not hurt it you need to cut it with sissors about half an inch down fully across but once you cut 1 test it see if it can still fly if it still can cut its other wing te same

she's handicapped (wings are damaged), but on the other hand i don't spend a lot of time with her...
if i spend time with her and show her that i'm not afraid of her biting, will she stop and start to trust me? :)
BTW, she LOOOVES to make her beak sharper, so im a bit afraid of that :S

my budgie talk just like that. He has a bath that is like a box with glass and he loves to sit in it and talk so you hear the deep voice extra good, it is pretty creepy but it is funny too :)

Just give your parakeet love and play with him we had our bird zippy for about 6 months b4 he started talking and we didnt "TRY" to teach him he just did it

Yep it is, but make sure that u close ur windows, and roll down ur curtains, because if u dont roll down ur curtains, it will think that there is no window, and it will bump right into it.

yeah you need to cut its wings it dose not hurt it you need to cut it with sissors about half an inch down fully across but once you cut 1 test it see if it can still fly if it still can cut its other wing te same
