It worked for me... i just used a stealth boy then snuck up behind him and pickpocketed him (Sometimes he might catch you but keep trying) i let 72 hours pass and it still works.. DONT KILL ANYONE OR LET THE GHOULS MOVE IN THEY END UP KILLING THEM

Pickpocket tenpenny an take his key go out side his suite and that key will be on a podium or whatever take it then run or else they will take it from u go to megaton and sleep/wait for 72 game hours then they won't care anymore

This glitch has been fixed in latest patch. Now you cannot access room from balcony unless destroying megaton.

ok forget my other comment i got the back door unlocked BUT when i went to drop off some power armor the door was locked again is there a way to keep it unlocked permanantly

nice, also i dont cheat but i found a vid about the pc version where you type in console "coc testqaitems" (all items room) you get the key and go back " coc megatonplayerhouse" or " coc megatoncommonhouse" (<i think) , this way you can get in from the front side , thats all

By same amount I mean you can't ask for 5 or 6 purified waters from your butler at megaton and get another 5 or 6 from the other one at Tenpenny tower so I got mad. Be careful about where you place your bobbleheads because you can put bobbleheads on the Tenpenny tower bobblehead stand and have other bobbleheads on megaton bobblehead stand.

By the way if you're wondering if killing Gustavo give's bad karma it doesn't or does I can't remember, but that doesn't matter since you just gain most of it back after getting good karma for finishing the quest. Oh and you can't decorate the house sadly because the girl that customizes your room is gone because you convinced her. Plus when you ask for purified waters both of the butlers seem to share the same amount??

After you kill him pick up all his keys and one of them should be a Tenpenny suite key. I didn't know what it was at first so after you tell Roy its done finish the quest. So after I did that I was exploring the tower lookin for other ghouls and other stuff. When I went to the floor where Tenpenny sits outside on the very top of the tower I wanted to know if the key I got worked on the door and...IT WORKED.

This is how to get 2 houses with good karma.

Finish the 'Power of Atom' quest and get the house.

Start the the 'Tenpenny Tower' Quest and while I was doing this I killed Tenpenny awhile ago xD. So instead of killing or letting ghouls through the doors you just convince everyone to let the ghouls come in. Since Gustavo is in charge and hates ghouls you got to kill him. Wait until he's leaving the building and plant a live grenade on him while you're hidden.

@LeopardFrogPilboxhat yeah, but there are drawbacks in the suite like you can't customize anything or ask for more purified waters. Plus the chance of accidently putting bobbleheads on the stand.

I did this... DON'T DO IT! you can loose all your shit in the suite, I had the 2 houses and set up stuff like how i wanted, i left to megaton to build a weapon i came back and i needed the key to get in, which i obviously didn't have -.- thank god i saved before (needed key to get in suite)

The glitch is random and inconsistent. It doesn't have any sort of pattern and there is NO WAY to detect it or know if its going to happen. Sometimes its entire lockers that empty and sometimes its just a couple items that people don't realize are missing because they don't keep track of what they put in their lockers or desks.

There is no way to fix the bug so if you choose megaton house your stuck without a safe storage area.

Honestly,It's not a really hard choice to choose which house is better anyway.

I'm not talking about which house is bigger or which house looks better or any nonsense like that. All of that is just matter of opinion.

What I'm referring to is actual fact and i just want to say it and put it out there so this way other people don't have to suffer.

"Tenpenny Suit" is better then "Megaton House" because of stability.

The storage system in "Megaton House" is bugged. People have lost their items.

On my second play-through of fallout 3 i choose Megaton House because i wanted to try something different since i tried Tenpenny suit the first time i played the game.

i REGRET choosing megaton because my locker with all my Unique Clothing/Weapons EMPTIED COMPLETELY. Everything disappeared after 100 hours.

It's only after i check the Vault Wiki database with google that i found out megaton house IS bugged and by then it was to late....

Ah probably. I hope not,but more then likely after you put in enough hours in your game the stuff will disappear most likely.

Just restart a new a file. The house is the most important part of the game because it's where you go back to store all your rare items from your whole adventure. I was really pissed off when i lost all my rares...

It'd be pointless to keep stuff in a house that will have it just disappear eventually. I tried to find ways around it by reloading,but no luck.

Yeah i was playing the 360 version of the game. It doesn't happen with just a few hours. It happens after playing the game for a long time. Lots of hours like 400-500 hours+. Around there.

I think i had like 600 hours when it happened to me and my friend had 400 hours when it happened to him and another friend of mine had it happen to him around 600 also. It's on the Vault wiki if you want to read up on it out of curiosity. Just type up "Vault Wiki Megaton house bugs" something like that.

Ah yeah man definitely. If you have like less then 100 hours then its worth it for sure! I remember how pissed i was when i reached 600 hours and just lost everything.

Oh if it helps there are some items you should get right at the start of the game so this way you don't miss them later.

When you restart your game make sure you look up an NPC on the Vault wiki called "A Wanderer" He has the unique rare version of the Leather Armor,but if you wait to long he gets killed by monsters.

Ah another one is Ledoux's mask. To get that one you have to start the quest Nuka cola challenge and make sure you don't finish that quest. While you have that quest active go to the Nuka cola plant and get the Nuka cola clear formula and then go outside rad racer factory with the formula and you can give it to goalie Ledoux for 400 caps and then kill goalie ledoux after to get his kick ass mask! xD

Right the idea is to kill the "a wanderer" to get his armor,but what i mean is if the monsters kill him and then his body disappears it will be impossible to get his armor. I remember the first time i ever played the game i missed that item because i never bothered to hunt the guy down for it. The Vault wiki never mentioned anything about him not re spawning and only have one chance to get the item.

That's why i try to kill him the minute i get out of the vault.

because the stronger your character is means the stronger the randomly spawned monsters get and once they pass a certain level they become to strong for the "a wanderer" and he gets overwhelmed and the crap beaten out of him then killed by monsters that outrank him like, yao guai,deathclaws,Robo brains,etc. He even has a hard time killed protectrons and they really aren't that tough at all. lol

I was thinking, Megaton is probably the best place in the game and blowing it up is the most evil thing you can do. Say if I just dumped my rare items on the ground in my megaton house, will the disappear still? Cause what I heard is that items only disappear if they're in a locker or container. Plus I have large intentions on butchering Tenpenny and Burke just for teh lulz XD.

Ah I'm not sure. I wouldn't take the risk though because from what i hear after a certain amount of time of leaving the items on the floor i hear that the robotic butler takes the items from the floor in an attempt to "tidey up the place". lol

I never tried it myself so i can't say,but i heard a lot of people that dropped their items never got them back.

Oh you can still get the tenpenny tower house and kill tenpenny and burke just for the heck of it. I do it all the time. xD

you cant get in without having the ghouls raid it. During the raid the doors to the suite are unlocked, but innaccessible, afterwards, it only locks the suite's main door, and not the back.
