• tom schilling is so pretty <3. he looks like a person that i love...

  • All I have to say is that these two had onscreen chemistry the likes of which Romeo and Juliet would have envied.

  • film stupendo

  • were they gay or something?

  • "When ze fuhrer says 've is the master race', ve 'heil' 'heil' right in the der fuhrer's face."

  • that is a hot scene

  • Tom Schilling is the hottest actor ever. *-*

  • @sorthstudios that's because you like 15 year olds

  • @Krankyism He isn't 15, he is 29. -.- And when that movie was made, he was 22.

  • @sorthstudios yeah but he looks like he's 15

  • Sehr gutes Film. Ich bin wieder unter Eindruck.

  • I wached this movie and this scene again and again. I think it is about real friendship and respect. It si pity there are no such friends today. Sind die Deutsche wircklich so Sensitive?

  • i just finished watching the movie, and it was great!!! passion!

  • I love this movie and shis scene. Cute and, aw.

  • God I love this scene. I tried not to cry so badly, and I wish guys could be more like this in america. You know not afriad to want to be touched by another guy because of stupid homophobia. Gay or Straight.

  • I absolutely love this movie.. So beautiful. Very touching.

  • I think that they did love each other but not so much in a sexual way. It was family and dependence and whatever else it was... Really lovely <3

  • They should be gay

  • I think this scene was Friedrich's love confession to Albrecht, in his very own way.

  • Can we see that movie in english our is there only a german version?

  • Beautiful film !

  • this would have made a good gay movie XD

  • They are such good friends. So sad... ♥ I love seeing the beauty of friendship.

  • It has been confirmed from the writer and director of the movie, Dennis Gansel, that the two were in fact just friends.

  • However, it doesn't make this scene, and others like it, any less heartbreaking.

  • No, he said that in this scene some users inside the forums wrote about the two being gay and he said, it's to be interpretated. ;D I do have the dvd, believe me 8D

  • Ah, that makes sense. Thanks for the correction :)

  • come on, they are not gay. you can see it often in the movie, they are very good friends

  • where all the actors come from ??

    ??

  • germany

  • This scene is so beautiful...

  • i think they could have been gay, or more then friends. i really reaaaally wanted the director (who usually does homosexual movies rightt?) to explore their relationship more. ugh saying that..i suppose its just my rabid homosexual female mind that wishes they were gay. im so wierd. sigh. sighhhhh.

but damn tom and whathisname are hot together. and tom is really i good actor. but i always laugh at his titanic-like death scene. :)

  • i know what you mean .. im the same .. they would look awsome together .. o well still good movie

  • Think!!! They went to watch that girl together, in the tower, while she was bathing! I think the scene is very important there to BE SURE they are not gays!!! And in the deleted scenes Albrecht kissed that maid! He were in love with her. Friendship between boys is just normal thing.

  • i wouldnt be so SURE! BLAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH. anyway the director usually makes gay oriented films doesnt he.

i think he said that the dude who died....whats his name? the really mean one that teased the kid wetter. he was actually gay.

any ANWAY they COULD be bi, that would explain EVERYTHING! MUWHAHAHAHA. THUUUU -----INK!

  • He said Siegfried (that´s his name) were a gay? And if he was, what it has to do with Albrecht and Friedrich?!?

Yes, the director made a films about gays, but it wasn´t any secret, the movies was openly, outright and unreservedly about gays!!! Not like this!!! If they were gays, he woudl say it.

  • yeah but still, try to live like they did under the circumstances that they did.

  • I do have the dvd and inside the bonus material, the regisseur Dennis Gansel says that about this scene people have been writing inside the forums about the two being gay. And Dennis Gansel added the comment: "Well, you can see it as whatever you like." This means gay, too ;D

  • Yer.. I was expecting a kiss as well... however, this would have changed the purpose of the film due to stereotypes :/

  • @MichaHardy there are no sexual perversion, only strong friendship

  • @MichaHardy There is a deleted scene of Albrecht kissing one of the maids... maybe this scene was deleted to reinforce the idea of Albrecht being gay... I loved this movie.. it is not homoerotic at all, it lets you plot the story you want in your mind, but it's always beautiful...

  • could someone tell me what they are saying? :)

  • omg...Tom schilling ! he was so great in this movie, fantastik actor :) and kind of cute? !

  • damn i hate english speaking countries. you are too stupid to learn german.i'm a german and i speak 4 fuckin languages.fuck subtitels

  • take it easy dude^^

  • But you doubtless give money to films and popculture from Amis. Practice what you preach.

  • I agree.

  • too bad you dont know the languages of love and kindness

  • as a gay man living in germany....while i wish on some level it was about a romantic relationship it is not...they love each other as good friends...knowing that as a passivist is going to suffer because of the third reich and the blond is goingalong w/ the movement. was tragically true in those years.

  • Iam german and ALL (the most) of you think false.

  • Subtitles? =(

  • uh, I don't understand what goes on people's minds nowadays, seriously. Men cannot hug, feel compassion and/or love each other without being called gay? for some of you, there's something called true FRIENDSHIP. I never saw these two as gays in the movie, and if they were, does it even matter? geez, everywhere I go to see something about this great movie, it's always the same ignorant comments about 'gay this' and 'gay that' ...some of you are completely obsessed with homosexuality..

  • Oh Tom Schilling...those eyes just amaze me...XDD

  • This is such a beautiful and sad scene, my favorite part..... I love this movie.

  • they are not gay

  • emotional... at least for me it is they don't look like gays. I don't know what to think about it

  • Intense& beautiful... well acted

  • So, will someone tell me if these two boys are in love? :)

  • Are you serious or just joking?

Well they are close friends in hard times.

    Best scene in the film.

  • I heard it's the viewers decision whether or not they're in love. >_> I for one, say they were lol but I'm seeing the movie on Tuesday so... yeaaaah

  • Well, and I AM a viewer : )

But yeah sure, it's your decision.

But if you will watch the whole film you'll see it's friendship.

  • Hello?he dies there in that ice hole of course it is an emotional moment just like the bathroom scene-that has nothing to do with gay shit-if you dont have love for a really good friend like they do then you are a really poor person-oh and what about the scene where they are looking through the girls window and watch her take her clothes off? that scene proofs that they ar NOT gay because you can see how horny they get while watchin her

  • OMG gay shit?! Homophobe much? Anyway yes they watched a woman undress and saw some back but I think it was more curiousity than being aroused. Do I have to mention that it'd be a bit odd if they didn't show interest? You know, considering they're Nazi's >_>

  • lol and to top it off when they both go to bed Albrecht asks Friedrich how he knew she was there and he replies "because you held your breath for a moment" then shyly smiled I mean DUDE. What about when the headmaster tells Friedrich that Albrecht's father noticed his behaviour change after they became friends? I'm sorry but I don't think it's very subtle. I think we can both agree that it's an awesome movie though :)

  • Im not Homophobe!i have gay friends though,my best friend is gay so you should watch your mouth calling someone hobophobe,i actually watched that movie together with him and he also thinks that they are just friends, but yes i agree that movie is just awesome,so if you wanna think they are gay its fine-the only reason i got a little upset bout this is that lots of people think that when men cry and hug each other(in hard times like that) means they HAVE to be gay thats so childish

  • Watch my mouth? I wasn't the one who said "that has nothing to do with gay shit" You could have easily said "That has nothing to do with homosexuality" Anyway, I'm not being childish I sincerely believe that they were in love. Coincidentally my best friend is also gay and he thinks that they were much in love too, seriously it doesn't take a genius to see it. Even if they DIDN'T kiss on screen

  • well, that childish comment wasn`t about you i know that you seriously believe that they are in love and as i said its fine....all i wanted to say is that two man acting like they do doesnt mean that they are gay maby they are but i dont think so i appologize for the gay shit i just wrote it wrong wanted to say that has nothing to do with being gay.POINT and then go on with shit... and jensensama:believe what you want why should i lie internet is anonym so i dont have to let myself look good

  • "Im not Homophobe!i have gay friends though,my best friend is gay so you should watch your mouth calling someone hobophobe" <---- hahahaha LIE

"he also thinks that they are just friends" <-- AND AGAIN

You must be stupid to think that people are going to fall for that. And pretending to have a gay saying that he agrees with you on this matter? Man, that's dumb. Gays will see gay in anything and I can tell you that from experience.

As for the movie, I agree with theaxe - they're so in love

  • WTH?? You really didn't get what has happened in the film did you? Sorry but.. that was some fucking hard time those pupils had to pass and like Albrecht not everyone of them could do what they were supposed to do there. They were "ordered" to kill children, friends were humiliated,Albrecht's father wanteed to send him to the eastern front and ON top they were just like 17 or so.

and kissing, huging & crying is not gay. Even if you ARE a man. Especially in that age. Dont be that konservative

  • I really don't want to get into another discussion about this. There's a lot of homosexual undertones. Like I said before about Albrecht's father noticing his behaviour change after he met Friedrich.

I don't want to repeat myself, this film was marketed as GAY interest btw :)

GREAT MOVIE! let's leave it at that

  • sorry but. his father just ment that albrecht got kind of different since he actually had someone to lean on while having such a controversy view in contrast to his father.

  • That's YOUR opinion.

  • It is and I respect yours (even if it's not obvious tho, sorry) but I find kinda nerve-wracking that things like this are interpretated as "homoerotic".

maybe we have some other views in Europe.. .

  • just relax :D

both opinions are right as the movie doesn't want to give just one single way of interpretation but tries to show how difficult relationships between men can be (as friends and as a couple ).

I personally think that the director wanted to show us that even albrecht and friedrich didn't really know what to think about this .

May it be homoerotic or not, it doesn't change anything about the fact that this is a great movie :D

  • Wow, a 46 year old yank calling me a tool over the internet. Do you feel like a big man now?

  • Well, consider the culture background the were in.... NO WAY, it has to be, cuz back then that was like a big no-no.

But since it's a movie, of couse it's up for the viewers to decide.

  • gay?

being gay was for sure a big NO NO...

Even soldiers in Waffen-SS could be gay.

I think these two are just good friends.

  • Yeah that's what I said, R U confusing me with someone else's comments? I said they CANNOT be gay! They r just good friends

  • napola is really great film!!..i saw it a few days ago and i cant forget it...and i think max riemelt is really great actor and soo beautiful too:)...this scene is sad but i think this is the best film i have ever watched!!....please more film like a napola..thanks!!

  • Niceeeeeeeeeeeee. I met the film's director and the actor who played Friedrich several years ago. When we talked about Napola, I could feel they really put their heart into the making of this film. I wish I could also meet the Alberich, whose performance I think is even better than Friedrich.

  • i really want to see this film!!

  • tom schilling ist der beste^^

  • super dreamy and good and sad

  • Der Film ist echt geiL

  • i love this movie

the boys are so hot and cute

  • I have seen this film yesterday on TV. I think that this scene shows everything - what true friendship means ( how Friedricht care about Albrecht ). So , getting everything into account I wish You All and Me to have a Friend just Like Friedricht and Albrecht .

    Best Wishes 4 U All ;)

    Darek ;]

  • I really really love this scene.

Both actors really did a great job with this very emotional moment

  • ja echt man-.-der film is hamma einfach geil

  • i cry every time at this scene! it's truely a sad movie. and scary, dont really know why..

  • Zwei einmalige Schauspieler!

  • I love this, so much. pure friendship, and caring. I fuckin love this movie.

    pardon my french,

    risa
