After seeing this trailer I felt the movie was worth checking out, so I bought the film and after watching it I must say, it does not disappoint! If you are into old horror slashers you must watch Tenebrae! Thanks for uploading!
Is that John Saxon? Becouse today I was at the science-fiction convention i gothenburg. saxon was there but I never got his autograph. Instead I bought this movie.
This is my favorite Argento film! Yes, I Know, SUSPIRIA is a masterpiece of cinema, with its colours and camera work an so fourth, but theres just something about this one that makes me love it, maybe its the painting the wall with blood scene :)
My favourite Argento by a clear mile, with DR and TBWTCP close behind. Never saw the attraction of Suspiria myself, yeah it's gorgeous to look at but it bored me sadly.
I tend to agree, but as I one day hope to be a cinematographer, I myself view film mostly from a purely visual perspective. I thought Tenebrae was so immaculately shot, it's such a shame that Argento went so completely off the boil after it.
From what I've heard The director of this film recieved many death threats from shigura miyamoto after making this film movie about his family that later the director would remove this title from japanese video stores in fear of his own life and daughters safety
ou know, I love Daft Punk and Justice, but it is no scret that they sample 90% of their music from old seventies and eighties electro and disco. Download 'Daft Punk: Sample Sources'. You'll be amazed!
Whats with the electronic music? sounds like French electro, I'm thinking its something like what Justice would make, but obviously its way too old for Justice, anyone know what it is?
Dear Dario,do you wanna talk about The Real Beast (666) in the real World? if you are interest in do the filmtrue of "your life",see and study about :Apocalipse Prophecies,VERICHIP or Mark of the Beast, NWO, Chemtrails, 666 in Code Bars or in Corporation Logos,Subliminal Message, Massonery & Satanism, Illuminati, Controll Mind,911 Cospiracy,Science Soppressed,2012,and ufos...... Because this is the "End of The Times" and The 666 try to win and concquest with the NWO the Dominium over Humanity!
I don't get the animal cruelty allegations towards Argento. He's known for being an animal lover. The reason his films feature the deaths of animals is because he finds them much more sympathetic than humans. When he sees harm inflicted upon animals he becomes greatly upset, and he hopes it upsets the audience as well.
Clearly, task accomplished.
But if you notice, animals are always usually save the day. The bugs and the monkey in Phenomena, the ravens in Opera, just to name a few.

Argento enjoyed mixing in real animal cruelty scenes into his movies, that is enough to steer me clear of his work. Too bad the POS was not put in prison and raped every night until he died from Aids.
define animal cruelty. if ur talking about the doberman in this movie and the german shepard in 'Suspiria', those animals were cruel to US in those movies

In Deep Red he impaled a lizard and had fighting dogs. Inferno had a scene of a mouse getting eaten by a cat. All 3 incidents were classified as animal cruelty. I realize these acts were not overly barbaric (the lizard might disagree), but it was senseless. These are the ones I am aware of, there may be more.
Are you sure that was real animal cruelty? There's a lot of gruesome stuff happening to the actors in the movies but it's just special effects. Haven't seen Tenebrae, but I know for sure that the dog in Suspiria was a puppet in several shots, and the impaled bird in Deep Red was clealy fake. The lizard did look like it had a pin stuck in it... but it was shot at a distance so I'm really not sure.
It just seems odd that he'd use actual animal cruelty. One of the Masters of Horror episodes he did was pretty scathing towards the fur industry. Who knows. Maybe he's a hypocrite. I love his good movies to pieces, he's definitely one of my favorite directors, but he does creep me out a bit in his interviews.

Do you think that Argento at all was inspired by Dressed to Kill in this picture? All those CU's of black clad and gloved razor blade carrying murders are SO similar! I know Argento uses black gloves and razors lots, but I always wondered. Not to say it's a ripoff or a lesser film, but just something to contemplate...
MAN that damn theme drives me wild. It's so dated and I usually HATE synth's used in score or songs, but this works SO WELL that it overcomes the synth, like how Dawn of the Dead's synth stuff is so AMAZING that it matters not an old keyboard is being used. But LORDY, I think 98% of the reason Dylan's 80s output is so unbearable is that he gave into peer pressure (or had a lapse of good taste?) and started including em. I'd say the ONLY band to do them well was The Who.
the song is so freaking dope and the bitches in da movies are fucking hotter than the 4th of july!... i rank the song right behind cannibal holocaust and halloween theme songs.
god... i have the re-release under the title "unsane" but its been cut by 10 minutes. does anyone know where i can get a copy of tenebre uncut on dvd thats not too expensive?

This film is brutal. Argento was a genius with the camera, much like John Carpenter(who admitted to being influenced by Argento for Halloween).
