@Hawmawn Now, now, how sure can you be? If someone truly enjoys Metal and knows enough about it, then he's a Metalhead. At least he actually bothered to pick up the guitar and record music with a band. What have YOU done for Metal? Even if you HAVE a band and play a musical instrument well, you DO NOT have a right to go around calling people wannabes. Yes, Ali Azhari does seem a bit overzealous during this interview using the word "Fuck" over and over but think about it, this is most probably
@Hawmawn one of the few times someone from another country meets him in person to speak to him about his passion. So don't blame him for trying to act "cool".
Doesn't matter what culture you're from, whether it be western or eastern, everyone knows that ozzy osbourne sounds like an idiot and makes fun of him! :P hahahaha
This video shows how one person has the courage to remain true to his passion -for metal -in spite of the constant harassment and danger from a hostile and repressive regime. Hell, it's an act of courage for this guy to even walk down the street, looking the way he does. Yet he doesn't give in. Check out his video "Baptize" on Youtube. He's truly an artist. We in the West take our freedoms for granted and can learn a thing or two about courage and commitment from these musicians.
It's a tragedy unto the world that Arsames isn't out there. I think we should start a petition for Metal Blade to pick them up and distribute them so that they aren't in limbo anymore. Seriously, how can they still not have a disc out, even if it's self-produced. I'd buy it!
To be honest, I doubt it is a matter of stereotyping. It's probably a matter of location (Metal Blade probably doesn't have a Middle East branch due to the size of the market) and government. Something tells me that an American company, especially one like Metal Blade, might have trouble doing business in Tehran just because of the current political climate.
I'm not talking about them operating in Iran. They can't. I'm talking about EXPORTING the bands to other countries. If some contract, etc is to be done it can easily be done in Turkey - its next door to Iran.
I know from personal experience how hard it is for even awesome real metal Pakistani bands to find a label - whereas the massachusets stupid metalcore clone bands easily get record deals.
Can Iranians export their art to Turkey that way and not find themselves exposed in Iran? That's a real question, as I have no idea. It just seems an awful lot more complicated than that, national treaties and local governance worldwide being what it is.
Massachusettes hardcore bands will always get a lot of label attention. There are a LOT of them. They seem to breed. They're like the cockroaches of metal; they're impossible to kill and bear infectious diseases to your metal sustenance.
There is stereotyping for Arabs and others from the middle east. That occurs when people take facts about the perversions of Islam and apply them to everyone with olive skin.
@muhammadsholypenis i couldnt believe my eyes when i seen you even commented on here ,* puke*

Islam and music don't cross or blend.
Islam is all about death.
Music is about living.

Naa man. I don't think major metal record labels even consider such great bands, mainly due to middle east/muslim stereotyping.

There is no Muslim stereotyping it's fact.
