I think it does depend somewhat on the weight of the fabric. I'm using fairly heavy, dense fabrics. I've heard others who dye very light weight woven fabrics that the opposite it true. I'll have to try different fabric weights one of these days!
That's very interesting. Thanks for the video's. I would have thought it would have been the reverse with the water helping the dye infiltrate but it doesn't work that way! Many thanks for the excellent tutorial.
Thanks for doing this demo. I never know if I should leave the fabric dry or not. Now I know the difference. I love your detailed explanations; you are clearing up many questions I have as I am learning how to dye with procion mx.
@sobeezz Wish I could take credit for the shirt! I bought it from an artist from California that was at a Michigan art fair about 4 years ago. All of his items were marble dyed. I bought two and wish I had more-I always get compliments. I haven't done any marbling yet but it's on my list.
You video is full of great information and I definitely appreciate you being willing to show the difference between wet and dry dyeing.

@sobeezz No, I'm not a member. The kind of dyeing I do is not tie dyeing but I'll check it out. Thanks!
