@circusboy90210We should cut our dependency on oil period. We should pursue alternative source to oil. In the meantime while we are doing that, safe regulated drilling practices should be followed. Doing nothing will not help, but thinking that a finite source of energy is the future is completely illogical. We need to find renewable alternatives. Fiscal conservatism is a talking point, so is the "free market solutions". They aren't fiscally responsible while in office.
@tatsujinMasurao crude oil is a very usefull product, it is the alternative to many other products that would not sustain us without it . this finite source is not going to be depleted within a thousand years or so. renewable is nice but those will never fill the shoes of oil. you are also negating the effects of abiotic oil . when renewables can stand on their own without subsidies people will believe in them.

I have a soft spot in my heart for NASA, I'm not claiming that I or Obama have all the answers. To cut a budget deficit you need to raise taxes and cut spending. Remember nothing is ever free. With more handouts come higher and more taxes, which will eventually trickle down to lower and middle class workers. When it comes to bailing out the those people who failed to read the fine print in their housing contracts or didn't put at least 20% down or failed to secure a fixed rate mortgage, I think it would be a huge mistake for many reasons, but the worst would be setting a precedent that we and the financial institutions will not be able to afford.

the first thing that's necessary in a recession is an increase in federal spending to stimulate the economy. a small business will not hire anyone if they do not have the money for it. pretending that lowering taxes will increase their cash flow is disingenuous at best. low taxes does not equal credit or cash flow.

With this HC bill, it will inc 4 times over.

I think you need to look at history at little closer, especially the Progressive movement, which is mostly founded on bigger gov't, more regulation, higher taxes (like the progressive income tax), and more unnecessary entitlements that we cannot pay for. I will not apologize for wanting lower taxes. The government can't even run Medicare and Medicaid. What makes you think that they can run our Health Care system? I also have plenty of money and great health care. I worked hard for all of it.

I think it would be best that we discontinue these little bouts of ours. I am really tires of having to correct everything you say. I told you I am an actuary. That is true...but that is not my job. I am a Combat Search and Rescue Pilot with the USAF. @circusboy90210We should cut our dependency on oil period. We should pursue alternative source to oil. In the meantime while we are doing that, safe regulated drilling practices should be followed. Doing nothing will not help, but thinking that a finite source of energy is the future is completely illogical. We need to find renewable alternatives. Fiscal conservatism is a talking point, so is the "free market solutions". They aren't fiscally responsible while in office.

Remember nothing is ever free. With more handouts come higher and more taxes, which will eventually trickle down to lower and middle class workers. When it comes to bailing out the those people who failed to read the fine print in their housing contracts or didn't put at least 20% down or failed to secure a fixed rate mortgage, I think it would be a huge mistake for many reasons, but the worst would be setting a precedent that we and the financial institutions will not be able to afford.

the first thing that's necessary in a recession is an increase in federal spending to stimulate the economy. a small business will not hire anyone if they do not have the money for it. pretending that lowering taxes will increase their cash flow is disingenuous at best. low taxes does not equal credit or cash flow.

You have come to make a series of unfounded generalizations about a group of people you disagree with.
I'm a progressive who doesn't want anything from the government - I've got plenty of money and great health care. I'm in this because I care about the well-being of my fellow human beings.
If anything it's the conservatives who want all the benefits of living in America without having to kick in their fare share. Taxes: the price you pay for living in America. Don't like it? LEAVE.

I think you need to look at history at little closer, especially the Progressive movement, which is mostly founded on bigger gov't, more regulation, higher taxes (like the progressive income tax), and more unnecessary entitlements that we cannot pay for. I will not apologize for wanting lower taxes. The government can't even run Medicare and Medicaid. What makes you think that they can run our Health Care system? I also have plenty of money and great health care. I worked hard for all of it.

I have never been given anything in my entire life. I don't expect to be given anything either. I think, along with most people, I can spend my money better than the government. And your quote, "Taxes: the price you pay for living in America," is entirely false. The price you pay for living in the US is through the blood, sweat, and tears of those in our military in order to secure our freedom. Look at every major US war, and ask yourself what would our country be like with another outcome!

so i did ask myself...
and actually, the US would look pretty much like it does now. i didn't see vietnam or iraq itching to invade us. the US is in its current position as a result of winning the cold war, you twit, not because of these minor skirmishes and proxy wars.

@2700giovanni there is something called "the correct channels" .....in the military it is called a "chain of command" ... you don't send The President an e-mail expecting a reply. It has nothing to do with race. Start with your state reps first...then your US reps

No, frankly I don't care of their opinion because when the stuff hits the fan in Europe, they call the U.S. Also, I happen to believe that God has a vested interest in us as individuals, not as a nation. And I definitely don't hate people who disagree with me. In fact, the hostility has been from you and people like you who hate anyone who even just has an opinion. It is really sad that people (like the Tea Party) can't have an opinion without being hated.

When did believing in capitalism become fascism? I must have missed something but we aren't moving toward fascism..it's socialism. IT IS AN OPINION..get over yourself. Calling me arrogant. There is nothing wrong with disagreeing with The President's policies when it comes to HC,the budget, and other economic policies.What I am not allowed to do is openly question his policies when it comes to how to conduct a war or how to carry out its policies.I am not allowed openly question an order that originated with The President,unless a one of those policies is unconstitutional.

I think it would be best that we discontinue these little bouts of ours. I am really tires of having to correct everything you say. This is my last reply..but feel free to let all that anger you have out toward us "fucks," for lack of a better word on your part, who want to spend our own money the way we think is best, who want a balanced budget, who want less regulation, and the opportunity..not the right..to better ourselves without paying for those who think they are entitled to anything.

I told you I am an actuary. That is true...but that is not my job. I am a Combat Search and Rescue Pilot with the USAF. I have done 2 tours in Iraq and 2 in Afghanistan, so I have seen my fair share of violence. We are over there to stop the bombing of those who disagree with those in power. We are over there to ensure that people can have disagreements, debates, and arguments without the fear of themselves or their families from being killed.
