this song has a warm hearted feel to it or maybe its just because a warm hearted man sings it. A warm hearted handsome man at that. lol xx oh my gosh and then the maori boys come in and just take it up to another level.
A million thanks for sharing this video, When my nephew who was a truckie in America died we tried to get a copy of this song to play when we got him back to NZ. I cried watching it as my Nephew was proud of his Maori Heritage
Nice NZ Maori piece. I'm from Australia and holidayed across " the ditch " in 2007. I loved it and will surely return. John Rowles is also a treasure. I've met him on a couple of occaisions and he was a perfect gentleman to me both times. Great value too. I'd like to have a longer conversation with him.
Where was this performed? Please tell me it's Bastion Point back in 1990. If so, thank you thank you thank you! I was singing with the Friendly Road Childrens Choir at Bastion Point and we did the Maori background part that is rather high!
Wow yup this brings back some memorys. Top of the south intimediate choir performance at Nelson Boys collage. 1991 I think. Tapawera boys represent did the haka to this song. But with way better moves. Classic Tu meke!
Great, alost patriotic song about his home country. I'm an Aussie and New Zealand is very close to our eastern seaboard. I went there last year and visited John's birthplace of Whakatane. Gorgeous guy and great singer.
