  • Now thats what i call DRIVING!!!!! RESPECT!!!!

  • No helmet, thats chuck nurris DRIVING!

  • check out the cars in this blog, fullybuiltmotorsport.blogspot.com/view/magazine

  • excellent driving. A bit too much sliding though

  • excellent driving.

  • damn he knows how to drive

  • WOW...He had it on its edge the whole time!!!! He's gotta be a pro!!!!

  • Ruf Yellow bird...

Many people do not realise how dangerous, challenging and testing the Nürburgring is. It WILL scare you aswell as give you joy and rush of excitement.

Playing with the back end of this car in almost every turn at high speed requires that you know this circuit very well, aswell as having driving skill.

If you can take on this circuit like this driver.... Well then you can take on any.... Worldwide.

  • now im not entirely sure which ruf this is, but keeping that car on the road at those high speeds requires ample down force. With a car like that putting your foot down the whole time just about makes it nearly impossible to obtain adequate grip, this guy is a good driver but far from great, the credit goes to the fact he completed the whole 12 some odd miles without some catastrophe taking place. im not picking sides just agreeing with flooders.

  • WOW nice driving, kick ass car.

  • GOOD DRIVING?? ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME. TRY BEING SMOOTH, AND NOT SQUELING YOURE TIRES!! EVERY TIME YOU TIRES ARE SQUEALING, IT MEANS YOURE GOING SLOWER THAN YOU COULD BE.

  • @surf403 - you are super ignorant. wow! you should hide under a rock quarry

  • @Ycort1 WOW, is that your best insult?? Man, your mother was a poster child for condoms.

  • @surf403 Bullshit - go back to your volvo.

  • @fl00ders That just shows how much of a FUCKING RETARD you are!! If you are squeling the tires, you are losing traction, loss of traction means loss of speed and power. See, YA FUCKING MORON!

  • @surf403 lol nice one faggot. Grip driving is BORING. Thus, you are a boring cunt. This guy was hanging it out all over the place - looked like tons fun. You know... fun? OH right you're a bunched up panty faggot who has absolutely NO idea what that is DO YOU? NO. BACK TO THE VOLVO YOU CORD WEARING DOUCHENOZZLE.

And what the FUCK is 'squeling' ahahaha you wrote it TWICE. Never mind the Volvo, back to school with you dumb ass kid.

  • @fl00ders Anytime youd like to drive against me, thats fine. Also, tell your CUNT mother and girlfriend to quit calling me. Im tired of fucking em in the ass and listening to how small your dick is. So, go back to blowing your dad you little pussy and leave driving up to the adults. Fucking worthless cum dumpster, oh right, thats your mother.

  • @surf403 ROFL 'Drive against you'? ....I figured you take it up the ass, and now you come onto me?? I don't swing that way, sorry faggot. Take your carefully grip driven Volvo down to the park and pick up some homeless bums to poke on the cheap. You know all about cheap I'm sure. lol.

As for the mom 'n dad taunts... fail. Your troll-fu is weak as fuck. Grade schoolers troll better than you.

Clearly you are as boring off the road as you are on it.

    YAWN, fag. YAWN.

  • @surf403 Oh and just one last note in passing.

You are the ONLY person here who is ragging on this, obviously skilled driver. The only one.

You don't have any real friends, do you...

Truly, it makes me lol to watch you burn. 'AMG all the squeling maeks u slow durrrrrr!' hahahaha

  • so that's what they mean by saying 'Drive it like you stole it'

  • And this is because he didn't even have power steering...

  • lol he drives like the devil himself

  • Ruf is the king

  • They call this guy Sideways Stefan I heard somewere....I cant imagine why :)

That car and guy are as one. He knows what the car is doing....and better yet: what the car is going to do. He never lost the handling of his car, eventough sliding almost every corner. Very, very entertaining to watch!

  • That guy can drive !

  • Sick! Obviously a professional!

  • skills hard

  • man,how do you get a job doing this?lol

  • is he doing it on purpose or does the car really has scary handling, seems like the back end always wants to overtake the front end of the car!

  • @kilabot749

purpose. the yellow bird has layout Rear-engine & rear-wheel drive with 470 hp with weigth only 1.2 tons, so if you want to be fast in the corners, you have to take the right gear so that you are in upper RPM, give a quick "kick" with the steering wheel and drift (carefully, but without hesitation). The car has good handling if you know how to do this. This is Pro-Skills, so dont try at home. Sorry my bad english. By the way, that was really an amazing drive, bravo

  • But I'll tell ya, either on the track or on the back roads, once you know how to really and truly drive these cars, they are the fastest around, and the racing history of the 911 and it's variants show that even up till this day. But I will end this with a qualification. I KNOW that the car in this video is not a Porsche, it is a RUF Yellowbird. So, in this case, what looks like a duck, quacks like a duck, and feels like a duck, is actually a Yellowbird.

  • Manual steering, even though the brakes are assisted, they feel like manual brakes, and the ride is stiffer than you would ever expect, especially in those, including mine, who checked the box for the even STIFFER option...

  • Anyway, whatever, an older (1989 and older, really, because of the massive shift in suspension design in 1990 with the introduction of the 964, and yes I know that the 964 Carrera 4 premiered in 89. It is absolutely not included) 911 is fundamentally difficult to drive. The transmission is really, really hard to learn how to work right.

  • (the 90 degree point is where your car slides out and you try to correct it to bring it back in line. It is always possible to save the slide and get back in line without crashing as long as you don't go past 90 degrees to the direction that you were trying to go. Once that point is hit, it's impossible and you WILL spin the car. And this is a universal rule.)

  • ANYWAY, once you learn the car, it is always ready to step out if you hesitate, so you have to learn to never hesitate. Sorta like with driving a motorcycle really fast, fast enough to be sliding the rear wheel out. But you also have to know that it won't keep that tail behind the 90 degree point just because you didn't hesitate.

  • I drive an older ('81) 911 as my daily driver. The suspension is set up about as far as you can go with these cars, while retaining the torsion bars instead of going with coil springs. And I've driven the car on the track, to name a couple, Laguna Seca and Sears Point, cough, cough... I mean Infineon Raceway at Sears Point. I don't think I'll ever get used to that.

  • Nice ride!

  • so much sawing

  • if there's a driving God he is jesus

  • "hi-fi" :)

  • pretty nervous this RUF...pretty fast as well =P

  • this video is just..bonkers!

i expected to see an old lady with a cane trying to cross the road in front of him. this is nuts!

  • 4:06 lol quick scratch :P, all in all just wow!

  • perfect!

  • best car/road/rider/job i've ever seen yet.

    great skill

  • He likes to drift, looks cool, but it hurts your lap times.

  • yellowbird

  • awesome

  • Holy Krap! I love boosted 911's but my heart was racing watchin this guy saw at the wheel around the ring.

  • That's not Sfefan Roser, that's Pietje Puk. It's the unofficial Broodje Pindakaas driver. LOL this guy wears no racesuit, no special shoes and... does he wear a helmet?!

  • @iroks1 2:48 he has no shoes on, he drives with white socks. I`m started sweating while watching him driving.

  • That's not Sfefan Roser, that's Pietje Puk. It's the unofficial Broodje Pindakaas driver. LOL

  • JESUS! This guys knows how...

  • Breathtaking driving. I *want* to drive a Porsche on the Nurburgring, but also not die whilst doing it.

  • That's some fucking driving !

  • Geez, talk about driving a Porsche to 99% of it's potential. Some of those straight away to corner transitions got a little hairy! My palms were sweating. Somebody wrote this guy has big balls!? I'd say his balls filled the entire back seat. Intense.

  • This man destroyed that track

  • sickkkk driving

  • WOW big respect, awesome ride, and very old school ;) ofcurse is smother faster, but with such an old porsche, you can say its kinda impossible to ride it smooth at all. and yea, im sure that he provoted it on a few places, just for some fun while sliding. anyways, just awesome, great man with a huge skill and even bigger balls;)

  • he is really wrestling to keep this car on a road. very nice driving

  • helmet..

  • Balls.

  • I think he had tracktion for a couple of seconds there halfway

  • They say smoother is faster, this guy proves it wrong.

  • holy shit ...he took those corners bloody hard !!

  • Reminds me of myself playing GT5P

  • Whoever this guy is, he's a BEAST

  • now that looks like a fun car to drive!

  • @Gummby69 it was the legendary RUF CTR 25 years old...lightweight car with 469hp-TopSpeed 339kph acceleration from 0-200kph 11,4sec. One of the fastest cars of his time

  • @kataklysm696 Yellow Bird?

  • @aojolaifjoa yipp!

  • Awesome driving! I wish i could get my hands on a car like that.... i will probably crash on the first turn lol

  • Ahhhh the slide out of Adenau, he just kills it!!!

  • Most of the skill is involved in missing various slower bikes and cars. DAMN.

  • Stefan does a great job of driving, but if I were driving on that track, at these

speeds I would be wearing my full race suit, gloves, and helmet.

    (former race school director)

  • Questa macchina ha un'accelerazione e una ripresa spaventose e chi la guida ha un'abilità eccezzionale nel dominarla, veramente un gran pilota, tra l'altro il vecchio nurburgring è una pista fantastica ma molto difficile.

  • That's how I drive my school bus every day!!!!!! No Big Deal!!! LOL

  • Damn. He makes it *look* so easy. Excellent driving :o

  • 1 A thing of beauty, the way he drives this car is beyond belief!!

2 Would die to get some private lessons from this guy!!

3 is that a CTR Yellow Bird??

  • There might be a handful of people in this world that can drive that car like that! Great video! I have the same one on my sight and a different one that shows outside views of the car also.

  • Mi respect to this guy, that's what I call car control, I'll love to drive like that, he is the proof that the porsche 911 wasn't a widowmaker, it just asks a lot of you, but if you put in the effort, boy is that car good

  • Beautiful.

  • ummmmm yes thats howI'd like to drive...but I think the 1st cornor would be an expensive one!!!

  • wow...and he drove it wearing white tennis sox!

  • he must know the track well

  • sensational driving

  • amazing driving skills - certainly the most interesting video of the ring i 've ever seen.. the way he controls this yellow beast is just uncanny.. no dorky paddle shifts or 4wheel drive or any electronic crap.. its just too bad there werent any decent cameras back then to capture this lap in HD

  • That car is behaving like an animal, and the driver is collecting the corners so well. Very good driving.

  • RUF CTR 2 Yellow Bird ca 800 kg empty weight, and 469 HP.

Alois Ruf did his Job very well =)

  • So that's how it's done. Fun just being a passenger in my living room!

  • germans have balls. nice driving!

  • Comment removed

  • no helmets no gloves hmmmmm wat kind of humen are germans....??

  • Ce qui s'appelle une voiture qui a des couilles... Super maîtrise, deja l'effet sac a dos typique des 911 c'est terrifiant mais la j'imagine pas avec l'effet turbo a l'ancienne!! =D

  • Thats Stefan Roser. Really gentle and friendly person, but behind the wheel ......

  • he knows the track and car very well

  • one of my favorite vids on youtube

  • indeed, nice driving man !!!

  • That was some serious raw talent right there!

    AWESOME DRIVING!

  • Actually have this on VHS can't get enough...Great seeing it on You Tube.

  • WHEEL MAN! he's gooood!

  • that's some serious driving

  • wow... amazing driver..

  • Now that i watch it again i think that even hell should be slower ... ;)

  • Great driving in a difficult circuit with a very challenging wheel !!!

  • ya way good good driver, good job

  • YOU'RE GOOD DRIVER

  • best car in world !!!

  • WOW !

  • Dieser fahrer könnte nur walter röhrl sein

  • Stefan Roser. RUF's official test driver back in those days.

  • Well it's too bad it's Stefan Roser. And official sources from RUF confirm it too.

  • you are wrong coupe400

  • awesome driving!

  • this guy drives like jim hall

  • Oh man, I haven't seen (nor commented on) this video for what seems an eternity.

Yet it still impresses me everytime I see it.

Even more so, since I've driven the old 911 model that the RUF yellowbird was based on. Many people still don't understand how dangerous that car was. When you drove it, you got so pumped full of adrenaline it was crazy.

Too bad the old girl got wrapped around a tree, but It was inevitable really.

Old Porches, they are just that insane.

  • Awesome driver...............

  • how has him collocated his camera in the car ????????

  • in the roll-cage for sure,

  • hi!But what did he used ?? :P

  • Dude ! No helmet and running 10/10th's, he must have been hating life that day but skill saw him through it. Very old vid but well worth the up.

  • Yeah, drift baby.

  • This always impresses me so Much

it must take years and years to acquire these kind of skills. if i get the chance, one day I'm gonna be this skilled 2..

    Respect

  • Mad skills! I like the "tight" gearbox haha!

  • wow he almost lost it a couple times. hahaha good video. I like he just said...fuck making turns I'm drifiting through this track hahaha

  • Comment removed

  • Except that this is Stefan Roser driving.

He was RUF's official test driver back then.

your opinion only confirms you're ignorant and just assumed it was Walter Rörhl because he develops Porsches nowadays

this is a RUF CTR, and back then those were always demonstrated by Stefan Roser

  • Stefan Roser was god in RUF, and this is a RUF not an ordinary Porsche.

  • then your opinion is as useless as you are

last time I saw this video on RUF's official site it was Stefan Roser who did this legendary lap

  • That cars is O-mazing!

  • BALLS OF STEEL

  • 1:52 through 2:00 is pure poetry

  • Yeah that drifting right there showed his level of driving. Pro.

  • Holy fucking shit at 1:10.

  • this is god when he was a man,Top drive!!

  • and sorry i meant after MAN not BY MAN(german company)

  • hahaha..i knew it!!!! :D where are you now?

  • romandiesel is a romanian truck copyed by MAN..that's why i though you were romanian...my bad either..

  • nu e Porsche ma....e RUF!!!!! romanian idiots...

  • That guy would probably beat me just driving a ford pinto. He's got balls of steal.

  • wicked good vid.

    thanks for that.

  • that's STIG!!!

  • This guy is nuts, i wonder how many time he did this before he totaled it. 11 out of 10 for driving

  • It's not the car as it is the driver, he's hitting every fucking apex like it depended on his life.

  • this guy uses the steering wheel as if he's in a 80's movie

  • Oh my God! This Porsche crazy! It jumping on track!

  • 0:49

    OWNED !!!

    :D:D

  • this guy is a test driver, or some driver employed by the company for sure !

  • Stefan Roser

RUF's official test driver back then

  • if we all can be sure about one fact: this guy knows how to handle his ruf.

  • This is Faszination (Google it). Not sped up, a very competent driver in a mad car, a long time ago (not a distant galaxy).

It's a promo vid for the YellowBird - the original silly motor.

  • The video has been sped up to make it look like the car is fast. It's actualy slow because you spend most of your time keeping the rear from sliding off the track.

  • Then why does the audio match?

  • My bad, the RUF is an awsome sports car that requires only the best of drivers to handle its tail heavy brutality. At normal speed this video is just as increadible as it is sped up a fraction of a second. The driver does not look like hes in a silent film twitching thu every turn. This guy is an awsome driver no question abought it.

  • It is possible to speed up a video and audio simultaniously. Now a days you can swap in difrent audio tracks too. Its been possible for years now! Where have you been? Just kidding. ;P

  • Umm sure you can speed the audio up, but it's not gonna sound right... The engine tone sounds just fine in this vid, it doesn't sound sped up. That's one hell of a job if someone actually went through and edited the audio track to match perfectly like it does, I doubt that's the case.

  • WOW O.O

  • Ahhh the yellow bird one of my all time fav porches. Seems to have a lot of oversteer, still this guys the man at handling all that tail heavy madness..

  • hi minimad, how old this video? from the earlie nineties?? i guess, i saw old bikes and cars? right?

  • holy shit!!

this guy got balls to take the yellow bird like that!!!

    Cooolll lap

  • he must have done that track a shitload of times.

  • Yea, no fire-suit, no helmet. I like this guy. And he's got some mad skills, and not a bad drifter as well.

  • ok this guy is the man hes ripping it

  • Is he driving on ice? I take huntercentury's point about this kind of car requiring more skill to drive than most modern equivalents, but all that dancing is losing him time, no wonder modern Porsches are faster.

  • that guy has some skills...

the yellow bird is no easy car to drive...

  • Pobre YellowBird quemando rueda, no negare que este hombre es un excelente driftking DRIFT KING de Nürburgring!!! buen vídeo ;-)

  • Comment removed

  • Use a helmet man!!

  • I like his driving, its cool but great!

  • WTF

  • CTR yellowbird.

  • i am so impressed what a mad driver

  • This is a MAN'S car. I don't mean that as a knock against the ladies, but most supercars today, even most Porsches, are so civilized and sanitized and easy to drive.

This is a reminder of what Porsches were like to drive before ABS, PASM, PSC, and all the other alphabet soup electronics made driving a car like this so fright
