@Ferrari8185 Ok people...lets get it together here...one more time. The bike doing the filming IS a 2009 Yamaha R1. The bike that CRASHED is the CBR600RR. Thank you for you ATTENTION to detail (and watching). =)
Wooooooooooo need to get that bike further over quickly or your mate and you possibly are gonna get a sore one, good to see he's ok, think he needs better gear wouldnt you say, Ride Safe.
PS I have been guilty in the past of digging deeper when I see an oncoming on a blind bend and that can be equally as fatal, stay cool, ignore the oncoming if its on its side of the road, just a thought ;-)
If the nose goes up you rode into a blind spot, don't assume there isn't gravel or a deer, i saw a guy go into one fast near here, he knew the road and there was only a little blind spot...but yeah if you're jumpin it you're trusting the signs or you know the road and are sure there isn't a crash or a downed biker right there
although people die in cars all the time, the trick is not fallin, but you get narrow and fast for it , also i got 70 mpgs almost :)
@MoneyR8 Na...just be careful and watch on coming traffic. AND WEAR PROPER EQUIPMENT! Oh yea, guess in order to be 'PC' I should tell you not to speed, do wheelies, and always obey all traffic laws. (LoL) There is no replacement for experience. Thanks for watching!
It looks like he came in too hot for the turn, got hard on the brakes and went right through the apex. Very common mistake among new riders. Bikes don't turn when you are on the brakes hard. Unfortunately, guys learn about the throttle first and never really understand countersteering. Take a safety course. Glad he did not get hurt seriously.
@larrytx01 I agree with most of what you said. But, in this case the rider is quite experienced and has had several decades of riding. Too fast?...yes, but the truck was left of center when they met in the corner and due to his speed (and the reaction of grabbing the brake which stood the bike up), he had no where to go but to the ditch.
All the gear, all the time. When you are sliding along the pavement at 40 MPH you will be glad you have it on. Protective pants that zip to the jacket are important- blue jeans are not adequate protection. Go fast, but not any faster than conditions allow! Your mom does not want to go to your funeral or visit you in the hospital!
Nice riding up till then. That's why leather trousers are so important. if they zip together with the jacket and you wear boots then a lot of thos scrapes and cuts wouldnt have happened. Dont know about the ankle cos he may have been wearing boots. Horrible corner though!
@djpert1 Absolutely agree. It could have been worse. He did have Sidi calf-high boots, race-grade full gloves, and heavy leather jacket on. Saved him ALOT of painful injuries. Point proven that if you're goin' ride like this on the street...well, I think we all know what can happen. Thanks for watching!
We took all the gear off while working on the bike because it was over 100 degrees that day. He continued riding that bike on for 60 more miles after the Sheriff took us into the next town (and his home) to get parts and tools!. Thanx for watching!
@kai6bair1 It must appear that we werent wearing proper gear. We were ALL wearing full armor jackets, gloves, SIDI (or other) boots, and helmets. Even passengers. There is even a pic of the exploded HELD racing glove that went fist first into the ground. His injuries were all superficial and thru the gear.
@Irishsaint7 wow..i just crash too..u can see it on my profile..it was hot..around 85F..i was fully leather and just my shoulder was little messed up..:]
Uh...not sure what you mean, but there's no R6 in this video. The bike that crashed was a Honda CBR600RR, and the bike filming is a 2009 Yamaha R1. If you'll freeze the video at :48-:49 you'll see the obvious Honda exhaust and swingarm. Thanks for watching!
omg this is Yamaha R1
