Those elevators lead up to the lond line that takes you to the main elevator which leads to the 103rd floor and I always thought those were schindler too.

how do the ride attendants control the elevators, without anyone pressing the floor button and the door close button inside the elevators? I know at the Emire state building, they use a remote control, but I don't know about the Sears Tower though.

They press the floor button. Also, the only active door close buttons are located outside of the elevators.
