I love how every video you watch of Classical Gas there are always a bunch of people arguing about who wrote this song. It is a fact that it was Mason Williams, yes, and some douchebag out there wrote the filename 'Eric Clapton - Classical Gas' and people started downloading that and posting videos and blogs and forums saying Eric Clapton wrote it. That's how this whole mess started. So come on people, don't let one person's mistake take away from our peaceful capabilities :)

Clapton never did this song. The reason people think he did is because Gas was included on the Soundtrack to The Story of Us, but if you read the liner notes, it is actually the Mason Williams version from his unplugged album "Handmade" back in 1971. Check out wikipedia too, Clapton never did this song.
