The beaches and rocky shores of NSW drown people regularly. Swim between the flags unless its a very gentle wave, and when rock fishing, use a rope to tie yourself on so you don't fall or get washed in.

Someone on the cliffs had seen the body, so the police came to get it.
I saw the rescue helicopter do a body retrieval once. It was in a dangerous rocky area of the beach , and it was nearly dark, so the helicopter was the only safe way to get it.
Yes the bodies often move from Wollongong to Sydney, or Sydney to Newcastle.. the body could have come from 100km from where the person drowned.
