  • I love this song. I love Shannon. Blind Melon isn't the same without him. He was such a beautiful person, and still to this day his voice and thoughts touch my very soul. Especially with this song. I fully understand, and can relate to what he is talking about. miss you Shan

  • i miss him

  • "you couldnt anyway" my favorite adlib =]

  • Danny Clinch killed that harmonica solo. He finally got up there with Shannon

  • Shannon Hoon admitted droppin' acid prior to Blind Melon going on stage for this. How the hell he managed to pull off such great performances of the songs amazes me.

  • i was there.

  • @apagoogoo so was I :)

  • @mslazydaizey hey, i think i remember you; were you that cute chick jumping up and down, dancing in the mud? i was the guy with the hair and the t-shirt... ;)

  • @apagoogoo yeah...no. I was 12 lol and hangin with my dad :)

  • love the groove

  • That was a great harmonica solo. If you like that you should look up David Sanborn's saxophone solo on the Eric Clapton and Sheryl Crow edition of Little Wing. It is awesome. Turn down the volume on your speakers first though, the video starts out super loud. Solo starts at about 2:30.

  • One of the best lyrics I have ever known..,"when life is hard, you have to chance!"THANks for this great moment;)

  • I was in high school through the early 90's and I remember Shannon Hoon and Blind Melon VERY well. I was never fortunate enough to get to see them perform, I went to school with a few people who went to Woodstock, '94 and got to see this performance. I guess people don't really think about it until after someone is gone. I remember the day Shannon died, the decade of the 90's was a sad time for music, R.I.P. Kurt Cobain, Shannon Hoon, Layne Stayley, and Dave Williams, you are always missed.

  • Shannon and Layne are forever linked.

  • I remember watching this live at a big party my friends and I threw. I was 20...seems forever ago. They are one of my favs till this day. My kids listen to them now *proud mommy*

  • wow.....takes me back to times I will never forget. gettin old sux. lol. thanx for posting this. made my boring ass friday night a little better.

  • its disappointing when i come here to listen and talk about real music, and then i see a comment about lady gaga or justin bieber...

  • That harmonica solo makes my fucking soul melt. God damn.

  • i miss shannon hoon and his amazing voice. i know, blind melon was a flash in the pan for most people, a band caught somewhere between grunge and neo hippie crap. but, a man with such an emotive voice was able to set the tone for many other bands and many other genres. this happens to be one of my favorite songs by blind melon, i hope it is yours also!

  • what the fuck happened to music, this is music ............

  • I miss Shannon !!!! Damn he can sing!

  • Wasn't he tripping on LSD during this show ???

  • @SarayeOmid1 some veryyy potent lsd haha, watch them play time at this concert, shannon almost loses it trippin so hard

  • Im glad i was born in the 80s. Im glad theres a load of shit music out today. Im glad because theres 5 decades of incredible music to listen too. As a matter of fact theres way too much music to pick from. So quit your wining and start jamming.

  • @Nancycarigen amen

  • by far the greatest act that played that day and as a melonhead any other day for that matter til the day we lost one of the greatest, most charasmatic frontmen ever however short his time was! to hell with the haters that just cant get it! you always got a helluva show out of all these guys! i miss them so!

  • Lmao i wonder who was the only person to dislike it..

  • Im 20 and I must say it is nice to see kids younger than me knowing real music.

  • simplesmente amo esse cara <3

  • Think about this...Shannon ...what would be of him aNd Blind melon today... if shannon had not die?probably blind melon had changed the music

  • Change.

  • Change.

  • "I know we can't all stay here forever...

So I want to write my words on the face of today...

    and they'll paint it..."

    R.I.P. Shannon Hoon...

  • @eLegantLywasTed7 AMEN brother. So miss real music that speaks to the soul.

  • I love Shannon

  • Happy birthday Shannon. All us Melon Heads miss and love you. I hope you feel no pain wherever you are, and you can sing your heart out all day long...

You wrote your words on the face of today.

  • RIP Shannon, thanks for creating amazing music that can turn a frown upside down. And to the rest of BM!

  • What a fantastic singer Shannen Hoon was!!!! Natural talent.

  • Curse the time when i was 3 years old and missed out on such great artists at their peaks... DAMN IT

  • I was lucky enough to get to see them back in 92 or 93. I wish I could relive that experience again and again.

  • Freakin badass♥

Love you shannon, your in my memory's(:

  • yup..god's gift

  • LSD BABE

  • woodstalk, i wish i couldve went.

  • I love this song on smack.

  • @Wut88 this song is good without it.

  • P.I.P. shannon

  • can somebody tell me the name of the guy in the harmonic? i can't understand when shanon says it.... great song great music !!!!!!

  • @phregill danny clinch

  • epic video :)

  • god hes fucked up

  • wassup ?

  • Fuckin love everything in this video / show / band / song / lyrics, but the make up here was unecessary.

  • @AguinaldoJr well, that was just shannon expressing himself..nothing wrong with that!

  • hahaha. i was just making fun of those people who are always saying how a song turned their life around when they were in the gutter.

  • back when i was addicted to crack i used to wipe my asshole with butter. and this song got me through those fun days.

  • @MrSlevine21 Eww..

  • WHO THE FUCK DISLIKED THIS???

  • @TheBlindWatermelon I think it was bieber or gaga..

  • @TheBlindWatermelon

    maybe......god? ;O;O;O;O

  • @TheBlindWatermelon Blind Melon is the best band man ever

  • R.I.P. Shannon Hoon

  • is he drunk? xd

  • nice hair piece and skirt dude. wtf is going on to make you do that?.....oh yeah a shit ton of drugs. DONT DO DRUGS KIDS.

  • I was there :) Sadly we can't own a Delorean with a flux capacitor

  • I was in the front to the right, one of the best performances of the festival. It started raining toward the end of the per formance, how ominous. Really glad I quit my job in Texas to go.

  • This is the best rock n roll band of the 90's hands down!!!!! One of the best rock bands of all times!!!! If you like Blind Melon then you have to check out "Letters to a Porcupine", awesome Documentary!!!!!!

  • @darkswim14 OOOOOPs, I mean "Letters from a Porcupine"

  • @uproar123 - Too bad he died in '95.

  • how could someone not like this....

  • I'll never forget....I was there in '94, when I was 33, it was amazing. Saw this performance....I believe Shannon Hoon died later the same year, October. It wasn't violent like the '99 show--I think the rain kept people mellow. I was there is a woman I was dating at the time, still a good friend. I can actually pick us out of the crown on the videotape.

  • I was there, 10 yrs old

  • @orest227 You must have awesome parents.

  • Hes so chill, I like him, not in a gay way.

  • How fortunate we all are to have him for 28 years. His music and love will live on!

  • He died 10 days before I was born :(

I would've been glad just to know he lived during the time I was born..

  • 65,945 People And 1 Dislike Damn You Gotta Be The Sorryiest Person On This Planet And Should Just Go Kill Yourself Already

  • this was so much better than 99'

  • I have a friend (neighbour) who is like 6 or 7 years older than me. Anyway, me and him were drinking one night and he told me about when he was 19 him and buddy drove all the way up to woodstock..met cool dude who live there..cool dude parked there cars..set up their tent while my friend and his buddy when to check out the show. My friend did massive amount of acid and after waking up one morning (on cloud nine) he said he looked up and shannon looked like an angel..he said he'll never forget it

  • yes, this performance in many ways mirrors Jimi Hendrix in 1969 , whereby Shannon is so absolutely giving the performance of his life just like Jimi and both passed shortly after their woodstock shows. So tragically coincidental, and such a terrible loss for music.. i feel so priveleged to have been there in the masses packed so tightly you had to hold your head up to breath. To watch Blind Melon do there thing.. R.I.P SH

  • no dislikes? thank god. so sick of seeing that condescending negative shit on awesome bands/songs' videos

  • he was tripping on acid at this show!

  • @MrAstropop99 lol have you ever been to a show like this before? he aint the only one by a long shot...

  • Wow.

I wish I could find the video of him (I think it was a "behind the music" or sometinng) playing this on his porch before he hit it big. One of the best performances ever...

  • 59,244 views so far, and no dislikes. Everyone knows where to change.

  • need a sermon??? come get some!!!

  • shannon you make me weep

  • i miss shannon so much i could cry

  • SHIT! WHY!............

  • What a version. I love Blind melon. Check out my site by clicking the link on my channel is you are an avid Melonhead who wants to read a classic review of this amazing album.

  • his beret is pretty....... love you Shannon

  • Shannon sends chills down my spine, he belonged up there.

  • It was too good. You can't out do what these bands did and no one cares for reproductions. Future artists had nowhere to go but to popular culture. Now music is filled with gimmicks and half-heartedness. Everything is to make money. These bands made money because they were amazing. They didn't need to play on tainted themes or worn out themes.

  • saw on their behind the music he was tripin balls! love it! you are missed!

  • ahh the 90s what a great time, too bad i was too young to witness oasis, these bands and all the other great bands that started a musical revolution

  • Best song ever, dedicada para las 33 personitas que conoci hoy =)

  • I was right up front for this magical concert

  • i recorded this on a cassette tape when i was 11 years old. 92.3fm in newyork broadcast the whole woodstock concert and i dubbed it on my familys stereo. those were the good ol days.

  • good

  • One of the best artists. His lyrics know how to move people and he has a voice like no one else. R.I.P. Shannon Hoon

  • EXACTLY whats to dislike!!! i guess were all on the same page!

  • 0 dislikes, thats the first time ive ever seen thhat, if anyone deserves this acheiement its blind melon

  • me gustan sus ganchitos.... xD!

  • damn how this song tends to cut my heart in two. Shannon new exactly how to intercept with peoples emotions, which makes him one of my all time favorite lyricist/musicians. Rip shannon hoon, you will always get me through the rough times that never seem to go away.

  • too bad i was a fetus when this happened =/

  • @redhotRISPOLIpeppers At least you shared something with Shannon. Fetus you still would have loved this show

  • @redhotRISPOLIpeppers I'm old.

  • @redhotRISPOLIpeppers fuckin hipster damn fag

  • @echobears what a cunny you are

  • @redhotRISPOLIpeppers i was just a few days before poppin out :/

  • I comment on every Blind Melon video.... and now i am all out of words to express my love towards their music. All i can say now is there music makes me high.

  • this song makes me smile everytime. This version is something special, danny clinch fits in

  • this song makes me smile everytime. This version is something special, danny clinch fits in

  • it's weird that he is tripping on acid in these Woodstock videos and he still is a better musician than I'll ever be

  • I hate that I was 4 years old when this happened. Shannon Hoon was a beautiful person and Blind Melon were destined for so much more. I went to an open mic night, and the girl sang this song and no one knew what she was singing, I went mental and she waved me up, so I sang it with her, BEST NIGHT EVER. I love Blind Melon. They make life worth living.

  • @ChemicalDroid i like your story, you are a true melonhead especially for someone your age

  • I wish i could have seen him in concert. A genuine talent.

  • f*uck , that was a sad period in music history... Kurt and Layne died the same day and then Shannon , a year later ... very sad :S anyway , great song , thanks for posting :)

  • @Johnnycdc31 Layne died in 2002...

  • @BlackOpsplayer12 layne was found dead in 2002 on the same dauy Kurt Died in 94

  • @BlackOpsplayer12 yeah I know. dunno why i said that. ;)

  • i was there and they were great

  • Shannon Hoon was a crazy drug addict who died becuase of it, which is a shame coz that band made some really great fuckin music...

  • Shannon for sainthood!!!

  • Blind Melon was amazing!!!!!! I love what they made for our world:)

  • man... thanks for that bm and dc. Awesome

  • Awesome harmonica! Awesome Band!

  • fckin great harmonica danny clnch

  • buena musica

  • ¡¡¡omg!!! so fucking great =D

  • I liked his longer hair!

  • Blind melon brought back that spark from the summer of love and woodstock 1969. This band deserved to play there. Music was played to bring people closer together in those days, and blind melon did that beautifully. I love his clothes.

  • nothing compliments a persons personality more than their favourite band being blind melon

  • @Dohey agree...are you single?

  • it was documented that shannon was sober for a few months before this show, none of the band members knew he was wasted until their set was over and backstage he admitted that he was tripping from LSD, still, awesome performance!

  • Shannon looks off his tits in this video, amazing performance and song though.

  • Shannon es bello rebelde.

  • you think he was really tripping on acid?

  • @Robfalcon501 If he was it was probably just a hit or two, he shows amazing control of himself if he was "tripping balls". We had pretty good acid in the 90's, only took a couple of hits to get you off.

  • Around where I live in 1994 every single person looked exactly like that bass player.

  • 0 dislikes (y)

  • This is beautiful

  • that harmonica jumped out and kicked me in the nuts. fuckin badass

  • Nice Quality and Nice Song ! : )

  • I love you Blind Melon. I love you fans of Blind Melon. I love you God for giving us Blind Melon.

    enough said...

  • '69 would have recognized the spirit of this band.

    Goodbye Shannon.

you burned too bright - you burned to brief.....

  • I was at Woodstock 94 and I saw this performance and I really do not ever think I will fully be able to fathom the brilliance I witnessed, simply mesmerizing. Though I fully realize the 94 Woodstock could not come close to rivaling the original, I firmly believe it was the closest understanding my generation could have possibly gotten to the ultimate Zen of the original. 4 days of living in faultless harmony and peace with 250,000 brothers and sisters, truly inspiring, and infinite memories

  • @natemick2011 and TONS of acid

  • @scott94556 Check out Thomas,,,He inherited the same spirit. We shared it till he left it too me :)

  • @scott94556 The candle that burns twice as bright burns out twice as fast.....

  • dammit i wish i was there!!

  • I was born in the wrong time... this is where I belonged...

  • i could not agree more :( i wish i was alive during this period...

  • @TheRileyLayne yer, it sucks, im 11 years old! i soo wanna be in those times!

  • @TheRileyLayne I was born in 90's, but it wasn't enough. Too little to know about Shannon and Layne...

Too near to 2000 destinated to change everything. No one will be able to bring us back true music like this,

we've just to have a look to the music factory, today.. It's gone too far from this.

  • @IncendiaryMurderer I can assure you the music factory was nowhere near this at the time, it was just as then as it is now, but good music will always find a way! :-D

  • @IncendiaryMurderer we can if you support musicians who play and write real music.. it's all about the fans

  • @IncendiaryMurderer bullshit true music is out there but big brother doesn't bother with talent all he cares about is his next paycheck. We need to take back America then music will return to the way it once was. I'm just afraid its too late, fuck we're almost a police state now. Fascist America

  • @StickyKitchenNug Italy is worse, and they piss everyone off talking about their music factory crisis..

Ignorant people who don't care are the worst ones.

  • @TheRileyLayne nah my friend. we were both born at the wrong time. that was a watered down woodstock with violence. we need people to come together. Blind Melon rules though.

  • @TheRileyLayne I'm very fortunate to have been alive in this great time. I just wish I would have been able to be at Woodstock.

  • @TheRileyLayne I understand that . I feel exactly the same...

  • hot sexy mess he was

  • 15 long years.

    RIP Shannon.

  • 1:38

none of us wanted that :(

    rip shannon
