  • @MrBenCaesar So I spew hatred while you bring my Mom into the conversation and basically call her a "bitch'".

I said it before and I will say it again "you are a ass-clown". Now shut the fuck up dip-shit.

  • @MrBenCaesar Yes I am a fragment of God. A speck of the ALL. Unfortunately this idiot died not knowing even a fraction of what it is I understand about the constitution of the universe. You are in the same category as him. Maybe you got a little teary eyed watching this Hollywood hype. Maybe you got a gay tingle wishing you could have held and comforted the stupid hobo.

Get yourself a bottle of lotion and a moist towel and cuddle up to the dvd player again, you emotional ass-clown.

  • @ALLinALLgood

Lmao i agree with you 100% lol

  • @MrBenCaesar He died a very incomplete soul. He had no understanding of the constitution of the universe. He did not know yin yang philosophy. He cut off all communication with his parents. This dude died a lonely frustrated lost not so wise young soul.

You may have noticed that he died more of a human being that you will ever be, because you know who you are.

  • The distress note below was purposely not part of the movie.

Attention possible visitors. "S.O.S. I need your help. I am injured, near death, and too weak too hike out of here. I am all alone, this is no joke. In the name of God, please remain to save me. I am out collecting berries close by and shall return this evening. Thank you, Chris McCandless. August ?"

He screwed up and in the end no longer though of himself as the free-spirit Alex Supertramp.

    Movie romantic, reality not.

  • @ALLinALLgood, That is because he failed, he knew he wasnt going to make it so to call him self Alex at that point was an insult. He is still a inspirtation

  • @ALLinALLgood, That is because he failed, he knew he wasnt going to make it so to call him self Alex at that point was an insult. He is still a inspiration

  • Macrobiotic philosophy teaches one to live free like wild birds, fish and other animals do. To never work or be attached to money. To live as close to nature as possible.

Personally I believe one should at least do this once for a period of time. Even if it cannot be maintained indefinitely.

  • WOW go to google maps and type in: Christopher McCandless

you can actually see the bus !!!!

  • for so many years people toiled and labored to try and improve the quality of their lives and this fool decides to go backwards and fuck up his life...the problem with so many dipshits today is that they don't know how good they have it...always whining about every little thing that bothers them...we've got it GREAT in today's world...life is frikken awesome

  • @yahoopl3

Are you fucking kidding me? The whole point of his journey was to get away from all of that. To be free of material possessions and societies expectations, and just be alone with nature. Maybe you like you like working 8 hours a day and being a slave to your possessions and financial debts. But to be free from all of that, with no one but yourself and nature like god intended, is more awesome than having all the money in the world.

happy birthday Chris Mcandles , RIP

  • back in 2005, I flew to moscow, then transfered to fly to the forests of Bashkir, down into Ufa, I knew no one, never been, knew no one ever been, didnt speek the language. talk about being along and into the wild! try it people, wonderful experience. made many friends.

  • does anyone know when

1 denmark couple appears, when Chris was riding a kayak

there is a song. it sounds like a hiphop or some kind of

    pop music.

I wanna know the name of the song!

  • can't touch this-MC Hammer

  • exelente pelicula!

  • I'm going to do a Europe Trek inspired by this great man! Not as dangerous as he did, but with the same philosophy. I can't wait!!

  • and what was t like? did u enjoy :))

  • more free than we are!! something was powerful about his life, something we all really want, but we're all too afraid. how amazing! how special he was... this was the way it was supposed to be and nothing besides. because it was a sacrifice... his life for the freedom to live! to worship the wholeness of God... not as the man in the sky w rules, but the force that is! not a wasted life. an inspiration! r.i.p. alexander supertramp!

  • that's beautiful what you said (wrote) totally true!!

  • thank you! its amazing how intricately placed everything is. and how it all affected people.

  • Speak for yourself, I am not "too afraid" Just like this guy chose not to be one with the rest of the world, I choose to live the way I do, you know, work, make money, bathe regularly, live in a house instead of abandoned city property. I still have an amazing and spirtual life, and spend plenty of time outdoors and close to nature, and consider myself to be "free"

  • yeah most sheeple do consider themselves to be free... love the illusion! as long as its in 3D!! i'm happy for you!! but none of that crap matters in the end. i couldn't do what he did because i have a 9 year old son and teaching him truth is my path. if you're spiritual, you would see the spiritual aspect. this is what he felt he had to do. and he did it. you feel like being a robot, go w that. 9 - 5, boring routine... afraid of germs... living in a shell. nice... peace be with you.

  • @MsAnthropy82 And that was still in 92' Now it's even fucking worse.

  • life on the road like chris mccandless, its a good life, everyday you wake up in a different palce and live a different day, its just making the choice to go through with it is the hardest part cause you only got one life to live

  • beautiful song, one of the best;)

  • on the road ... hmmm i should

  • hey, do you happen to know the guitar tabs for this song?

  • use your ears...its really easy to play

  • great song!

  • love the intro, chorus kinda gets annoying

  • cmon its m honest opinion. again I absolutely LOVE the intro

  • great just breath taking it makes you want to get up and rebel

  • right! old man (neil young) make a good complement to INTO THE WILD!

  • I think "Ballad of Easy Rider" (the Byrds) or "Old Man" (Neil Young) would make a good complement to 'Into the Wild'

  • pretty good song but it does not top Eddie Vedder

  • nothing tops eddie vedder...nothing.

  • this song does suck it doesnt fit the movie at all.....theres a reason why eddie vedder was chosen........ goog video and all but bad song......

  • the orignial soundtrack is much beter, this song isn't really special... sorry. great movie!!

  • he didnt go too survive permanently.

and it aint just about death is it, if you dont take any risks then nothing would ever be done and half the medical cures we have wouldnt have been found.

and the movie isnt about romance its about one mans journey too release the "false being within"

so dont put others off from searching for happiness. if you want too live a life behind a desk go for it, but some people want too see the world before it gets turned into a parking lot.

  • awsome movie!

  • The man followed his dream...an ever dying quality

  • im gonna follow my dream, and it is the exact same one as his. i dont care if i die in 4 months or even 4 days, as long as i get to experience the real freedom i die happy and thats all i want right now

  • Rest in Peace, Chris. And Gods Speed to you!

  • Greaaaat Movie and Niiiice SONG Sweetness...So Tell it to your Boyfrieeeennnd ;) Peace on you All.See yaa!!

  • thanks for all Chris...rest in peace

  • Alex, he DID NOT die of poisoning from a plant. That was creative license. He died of stupidity. I sympathize with the parents and sister who loved him, but not because he died, because he didn't treat them with the love or consideration they wanted. He ignored and abandoned them in as selfish an act as one can imagine.

  • --- I'm not clueless to the real world I've lived and seen all kinds of lives fucked up by it. These days I choose not to see the wool pulled before our eyes!

  • and they didnt give him the love he needed and the parents evey kid whants just normal parents not like them superstitious and money and always whant fansy cloth and...he wanted to live the way that god created us no money no rules no nothin just adam and nature and that is his choice u can never change that and maybe the world would juge him and take everything from him but they whont take his dreams they just cant and they cant take his thinkion hes mind his imagenry line.

  • they cant take his mind his thinkin and this is a human that prooved somthin to the world...and his parents was ignorent too when he was around they neve know how he felt but when he ran away far in the wild theyv realized that our sun wasent happy with us with our stupid money and stupid life they where ignorent too about him about his life just fight and make problems but he prooved to them that he can live with out them and their stupid rules im the biggest fan of chris

  • His parents may very well have come up short and his actions may or may not have been a direct attempt to hurt them or prove a point. However, he claimed to love his sister, yet had no problem abandoning her without a word as well, knowing full well how she must certainly have worried about him and didn't warrant a single phone call to assuage her concerns. Sounds like a selfish douchbag to me.

  • but in her heart she new that he loved her and was thinkin of her and love replace every thing..she new he was happy somwhere so no need to call she even say it on the movie!...and plz show some respect

  • Man! How do you even write drivel like that without realizing how far up your butt your head is. How do you know what's in her heart? She was desperately concerned, as where their parents, that no one had heard from him, not knowing if he was alive or dead. And he clearly didn't care. What world do you live in?

  • i live in my own world and oforse people like u would never fit in and thats what he wanted that his family never find him i mean he did what he wanted no money no fansy life no civilysation i bet that u cant live 2 sec without money or car or fansy cloth...anyway chriiis did his dream and wasent afraid i respect him for that..okay he did wrong by leavin his parents but his parent was ignorent more then him if they werent ignorent and a waste of skin then all of this wouldnt happen

  • im 22 and im in the exact same shoes as chris when he was my age, i've had the same dream as him since i was about 15 so i know exactly how he felt . im going to pursue the same dream as him, the only thing different is i might not survive as long as he did because i dont have a rifle (im canadian very strict gun laws) so i will have to hunt fish or learn to set traps to small squirrels or rabbits in nets, i will learn how to do that in the coming weeks

  • same here but with a rifle and my parents totaly support for my dream :)

  • Ales on forever in my memory

  • « Happiness is real only when shared »

  • i like the song... its good

    upload the ohers on youtube

  • If it weren't for society and it's consumerism, I'm sure he'd (as well as anyone else who avoided that stuff), would be able to survive the wild. I know it sounds like a long stretch, but I know that's a factor of his death.

  • hehe, the sound of his voice, or even the song/text it self doesnt matter. but what McCandless actually did with his life is a hell of a story to tell. Its what many of us would like to do but are too stuck in expectations of other people.. Sometimes saying "FU!!" to people, and doing it your way, is the way to go. but camping in the woods for a week isn't living in the wild.. remember that =)

  • oh and ronniepage funny but right! this dudes voice is nausiating but it could be a good song

  • RIPchris and happy belated. this was a great man who understood real freedom! he has inspired me to go on a similar journey i too want to go to alaska, not the bus tho. i want to have my own journey.and i plan to be more prepared ill def be packin some weed! iwoudnt mind having some people with me too. like a girl=).all the girls around here are snobs, all victims ot this materialistic world! who would we be without all these pressures ,all this drama ,just experiencing full freedom

  • oh and this guys voice stinks, could be a good song if someone else sang it.

  • damn good song..cant wait for your boy friends album!

  • Chris McCandless was extremely intelligent but also lacking in common sense. He was woefully unprepared for living in the Alaska bush when it was still cold and snowy. If he had bothered to get a good map, he would have known about the suspended ferry that spanned the river he couldn't cross due to the high volume of snowmelt. He probably also would have known about the inhabited cabins only six miles away.

  • yeah, no shit, stop acting smart ya douch, anyone who knows about his story knows this stuff already.

  • great song

  • J'ai trop aimée ce film!!! I love this movies!!

  • is the book also called into the wild and were can i buy it???????

  • beautiful song ! the book is also a wonderful adventur

  • gr8 movie but sad..he was a good person..song suits the mood of the picture

  • guys i just think that a good person was dead.He donated the whole money to a charity. He was selfless. He decided his life. The world needs more good ppl like him but not die but support others in need.Great song by the way..

  • Your boyfriend is better than most of the artist we have here in france ....

    Thanks for sharing.

  • He died because he dared to live.....which is more than I can say for most of us.

  • he also read in the book happienes is best when shared wich then he wanted to get back , and at the end some ppl dont know why he says call eveything by its name well he wanted to be called alexander super tramp, but it was Chris McCandless so thats why it says call everytihing by its last name , and it has his REAL name... oh and at the end of the movie it showed a acuall pic, he had a camra..... this is a true story! 100% true (= bless you alex!! i love u and your r inspiring R.I.P

  • he was tired of his life, rich, and boring. he wanted to suport himself, he wanted to live his dream he know it would take courage and he knows the tatics to live the only reason he died is becuse a fatel mistake, he ate the wrong plant and couldnt prosses food. He was just worried becuse he felt trapped and lost all tackis for getting food and got worried and panict so he ate a bad plant, evne tho he sould of fished but he was sacred and if he would of survived 2 more week he would of survived

  • crhood your a fool.

  • If he'd gone out there in just slippers and a bathrobe, it wouldn't have changed the fact that he had a very unique and inspirational goal of living life the way he wanted to, being one with nature and enjoying himself. That's what people liked about him, he lived life in a way that made him happy and that can be an inspiration to anyone, no matter what mistakes he made.

  • beautiful music man ;-)

  • RIP Chris...on second thought, rest with the knowledge of what a moron you were....

  • a moron? dude he showed us how to live life

  • Do you even know how funny your response is? I'm not sure what made me laugh more, the fact that you started with "dude" or that you want to model living your life on a guy who died needlessly for being a moron.

  • okay so your not going to give me respect because I start my response with 'dude'? laugh go ahead, but the life your living is a lie. I want to model my life by this guy because he was in the right state of mind. He was literally siezing the day. You call him a moron because he died, but he died because of a fatal mistake, not because of stupidity. Your the moron and I laugh at you because you don't respect anyone who has a little bit different vocabulary than you.

  • "fatal mistake"? If he'd gone out into the Alaskan wilderness with only his pajamas and slippers, would that be a fatal mistake or stupidity? You can argue his ideals were appealing, but his actions were moronic and lead to his death. And why do you say "I want to model my life" instead of just doing it? What's stopping you? If you're not happy in your life, do something about it...don't try to convince yourself my life is unhappy or "a lie" because you're not content.

  • okay this is what i want to say i model my life by his philosophy. Not I want to, my life isn't bad and i don't try to make it. I don't argue to make my life seem horrible. I am not some punk kid who thinks anarchy is the way to go so if this is what u thought then you were wrong. He went prepared by the way. He mistaked a poisonous plant for a edible one, that is a fatal mistake

  • The poisonous plant was a creative license taken by the director. It didn't happen! The autopsy didn't reveal any toxins in his system...though it's a lot more glamorous in the film to have him die from mistakenly eating a poisonous plant than reveal it was really because he was an unprepared idiot. What I don't get is why people are so desperate for a "hero" to idolize. Why not just take a non-material approach to the world and embrace that..what's so amazing about this guy to you?

  • Okay here I respect you and I think that if you think this guy is a moron thats fine. You are welcome to have your own views. I think this argument has gone on too long. I didn't know about the plant but thats still fine. He still did go prepared and didn't go as unprepared as you believed he did. I'm not desperate for a hero I just idolize his views on life. He was amazing because he just left the world behind because it's going to hell. He unfortunatley died but his final years were great.

  • A non-judgemental question. Why idolize his views on life instead of making them your own? Isn't the whole idea of his philosophy that anyone can put aside the material world. What is stopping you (and others) who want to prescribe to this way of life, but haven't?

  • You know, I'm really glad you asked that and I have to ask myself that too. I guess I'm too busy idolizing them to actually live them.

  • That's an admirable reply.

  • spiteful bastard.Your the fuckn moron.Sure he underestimated the environment big style but its obviously beyond u 2c thats WHAT HE DID ON PURPOSE.wanted to make it hard to bring the best out of him.reckless i admit but he was extremely bright. ive absolutely nothing against ppl from environments like alaska but some are up their arse abt where they come from. this young man didnt have a mean bone in his body AND was unlucky to die. He ate a mouldy seeds which weakened him+he couldnt make it out

  • "bring the best out of him"??? Do you have any idea what you're talking about? Did you know he was never poisoned, just completely unprepared? Did you know the river that had risen, that he couldn't get across, had a crossing less then 1/2 mile away from where he reach it? He died from stupidity. If he'd gone out there with no food at all, was blind, and had only slippers and a bathrobe, you'd still be championing him as a "hero". And you'r "big city" analogy is just asinine.

  • lol wow you critize somebody for living their life to the fullest when few rarely do. You said that he was unprepared, but he lasted over 100 days in the wild and the only reason he died was cus he ate the seeds from a wild potato plant (the roots are edible) the seeds are coated with toxins so animals don't eat them. The decisions and choices that Chris made were rational in his own eyes and apparently you don't agree, but don't make obscure analogies because it just makes you sound retarded

  • AGAIN, I have to clarify for someone who doesn't know what he's talking about. Chris never ate any toxic berries or seeds. His autopsy confirmed it. It was creative license taken by the filmmaker and others trying to make his death seem less...well, stupid and unnecessary. To argue that his decisions were "rationale" is an insult to rationale people. He took no map, he took no flares, there was an area to cross the river a 1/2 mile from where he was. He died of carelessness and stupidity.

  • Wow ur a dumbass, he ate the seeds in July and died in August, so the seeds and toxins weren't in his system when they did the autopsy, he wrote in his journal that the seeds he ate made him sick which caused him to become weak and so weak that he couldn't get or eat food. Next time read the book before you comment. I said that the descisions he made were rationale in HIS OWN EYES like taking no map because he wanted to be lost in the wild, and not know where he was.

  • If toxins contributed to his death, there would still be evidence of them in his system at the autopsy. There was not. And I'm sure he even thought he did eat something poisonous at the pain he felt when his body was shutting down from starvation. Either way, his death certainly wasn't "tragic", if anything, it was tantamount to suicide. I don't understand why you people who idolize him can't just admit, "I really respect his views on life, but damn, he was stupid there at the end"?

  • As he said he was an extremeist, he knew the risks, but that is what made it exciting for him. I would never take it to that extreme, but his story appeals to me because he had the courage to actually go and do it and also his views on life like u said. He may have died young, but its not how long you live, its how you spend the years that u are alive and he lived life to the fullest. He inspired people to get off their lazy ass and go live their dream.

  • He died because he was a human, you will die, i will die, it was just his time out there in the bus.

He was not stupid, he was alive, he did what he wanted, he was real and authentic, most of us do what society teach us, it creates a personality in us, full of ego allways worring what people thing about us, i think chris wanted to eliminate all of this, maybe he did before he died. You dont have to go to the forests to find happiness, you need to be yourself to be happy.

  • "it was just his time"? What kind of cowardly statement is that? Whenever anything goes wrong with your life, you can just say "it was meant to be". Convenient if you're lazy, stupid or a failure to not have to take responsibility for your action. Was that Chris' goal? To pass the buck to "fate"?

  • Stupids and blind are the ones who see the way he died and not the way he lived.

Stupids are the ones who judge people they dont know.

Stupid and lazy the ones who live their lives accoring to the rules and beliefs of a society.

Im not saying society is not neccessary, you need it to survive, learn their rules, then forget them or you will become their slave.

"A man who does not live his vision is living death"

  • Did you really think that was profound when you wrote it? If you want to focus on the way he lived, we can talk about how he shit on his family and almost everyone who loved him. They are the ones who suffer greatest for his stupidity and selfishness. And if you feel like a slave, do what you have to find happiness. Some of us already have.

  • maybe he had to make a clean break from his family for a while to find himself no one knows the full real story on both sides we only see the tip of the iceberg life is complicated

  • To "find" himself? Yeah, he obviously went about it the right way since it killed him. No, we don't know the real story, but we do know his family was devastated by his selfishness. How does a phone call six months later prevent him from still "finding" himself? Even if he hated his parents, he claimed to care about his sister, but treated her like shit knowing she was be worried about him and he just didn't care. I wish the kid had lived, so we wouldn't have been exposed to his drivel.

  • Wow man, its people like you that made him want to get out of this place. You have no imagination or true happiness inside of you. Terrible.

  • Man, I think it's pretentious asses like yourself that people want to get away from. Based on my four sentences, you can try to make a judgment like I have "no imagination or true happiness"??? And I can stay "you obviously molest children" with as much credibility as your asinine statement.
