  • Me and Floyd were in the music business around the same era, and he blew the doors off my guitar playing. I remember when he filled in a few times for Edgar with White Trash. The dude was killer on the ES335. Wish I could start a band with him in Orlando after all these decades.

  • amazing

  • really!!

  • Floyds the shit. smoked some dank ass shit with his grandson dylan.

  • I've seen Johnnie Winter 41 times and for some reason he still blows me away

  • holyshit-tits ! this really fecking swings, i never want it to stop!

  • My first wife ran off with Floyd. He did me the biggest favor of my life. He is a great guy and has been a friend and great step-dad to my son. We both managed to survive our time with her.

  • @TeamWinterBeaumont - right fuckin' on! Johnny keeps on keepin' on.

  • Wow what an amazing guitarest Floyd was n still is!!! Thx for a great post!

  • I have seen Johnny Winters open for george thorro-somthing and had thought it should have been the other way around. Thank You Mister Winters for the great show.

  • Johnny shits on clapton

  • @mickey62056 he is not a pigeon

  • And to the beeroosterm pinhead and that "Bet he'll be dead soon" crap, .....

would you like to say that to Mr. Winter's face?? It can be arranged.

  • All you nice? folks with those tasteless and obviously just plain ignorant and baseless comments, go to hell.

I know Johnny and have known him for years.. he is a friend and I'm proud to call him a friend. Enjoy the music. The guy lives to make folks smile. Johnny Winter has paid the tough dues you can't even imagine. Have you?? Probably not, so sit down, shut up and rock n roll.., If you know how.

  • @TeamWinterBeaumont u shut up, and be nice..and u should listen to.. God Bless..

  • look at your own self 30 plus years ago.long live Johnny Winter.

  • Yeah hes all that bad stuff. But hes given the world a lifetime of great great music.Johnny is happy today. hes recouped alot and Im happy for him. fuck the comment section.

  • Awesome

  • can someone show this to everyone starting a band?

  • Wild !

  • Neat to see somebody 'new'. Cool that he could run with johnny!

  • I saw JW in concert in Paris in 1968 maybe and his band included another guitar player, it was not the best set up as both musicians were trying to out solo each other and the end result was nothing compared to Johnny playing guitar by himself.

I have looked up in his bio but I cannot find who was playing in his band at that time.

  • Im loving this ! :)

  • Is it a woman on drums?????????????????? Man, what a fucking beat that chick has!!!!! La puta madre que la parió! Hiuáhuáhááááááááááá!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Caracoles!

  • @CarlosBluesman It's a guy, but I can't remember his name. Can't find my LP either.

Saw them with Floyd Radford in 1975 with Edgar W in Springfield MA.

  • Floyd was one he best ever and made that ES335 wail.

I was good back then, but he was great.

Under rated and almost completely unknown.

  • my face just melted

  • Monster jam!

  • Blustherpan limpiate el cucu no joras

  • dancing madly backwards!!! go Floyd!

  • CHEVERE

  • yeahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh JOHNNY WINTER EL MEJOR BLUES ROCK LA PUTAMARE

  • Thats randy jo hobbs moran!!!

  • is this tune jumping jack flash? great stuff!

  • Don't forget Tommy Shannon. Looiking good.

  • Actually, the guy on bass is Randy Jo Hobbs, Ricahrd Hughes on drums. This was from around the time of the Captured Live album. Amazing band. Before playing with Johnny, Floyd Radford played in Edgar Winter's White Trash.

  • @steveguion YEA MAN AND BEFORE THAT TOUR HE OPENED FOR PROCAL HAREM WITH HIS BAND 'TIN HOUSE', ROUND 71. WAS GREAT.

  • Floyd is GREAT and Johnny is so unselfish in this. Too many great players out there that the mainstream will ever hear of. Too bad.

  • Wow, great clip. What wouldn´t I give to be able to view the entire show than just a couple of minutes of it. Floyd Radford is smoking hot here.

Best Winter lineup of all time, IMO, with Randy Jo Hobbs on base and Richard Hughes on the drums. Thanks for posting.

  • hell yeah this is so fucking nice ....5 star xD

  • These boys could tear it up. lol. Excellent.

  • holy shit, floyd radford has got to be one of the most underrated guitarists ever

  • In the deedly doodly, Stanley! OH YEAH!!!

  • I think Johnny agrees, as per his response to Floyd's run starting at 0:22

  • @kkatarn327 He sure was. He was, and is one of the best. He's an Aerospace Engineer these days I believe.

  • @flstf2k

Yep. According to the web:Floyd is now an engineer working for Lockheed Martin in Orlando. He is doing great and very active in his own music projects, including a solo CD. In November 2004 Pegasus (UCF Alumni Association) published: "Rock and Roll Fantasy - you might be sitting next to a rock star in engineering class" this article contains a biography of Floyd Radford

  • @kkatarn327

Floyd is alive and well here in Orlando Fl. Just saw him playing a bit this past Sunday and will see him again with a reunion show featuring some of his old band mates from Tin House.. If you've not heard Tin House, there are some vids posted.. check it out!

  • BadAss!!!

  • During this time period that would be Randy Jo Hobbs on Bass.

  • I believe that's Tommy Shannon on bass. He later became Stevie Ray's bass player in Double Trouble.

  • I think Tommy is too young to have played in 74.

  • Tommy played with Johnny @ Woodstock in 69

And yeah that's Randy Jo Hobbs ...RIP

  • "TIN HOUSE"...'FLOYD RADFORDS' 1ST BAND!!!!

CHECK OUT THAT LP FROM 71. IF YOU CAN FIND IT!!!

DURING HIS BANDS LAST DAYS (74ish) FLOYD WOULD OPEN SHOWS FOR JHONNY WITH TIN HOUSE,THAN COME OUT 15 MIN LATER AND PLAY GUITAR WITH JHONNYS BAND! IT WAS UNREAL! HE IS GREAT. THANKS FOR SHARING!

  • Richard Hughes went to my high school. looks the same but older here I used to watch him in a local band. He had been drumming for 6 months or so and was already the best in a town with at least a dozen garage bands (Millburn NJ. RIP Richie.

  • OMG Rock and Roll Muther Fuckers, God Damn these guys Rock!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • :O awesome

  • Thanks for sharing this video!

  • cause its giving me shivers down my spine

    that outro goin on chriiist

  • what song is this

  • it sounds like Winter's take on Jumpin' Jack Flash. You will find it on Johnny Winter And Live (w/Rick Derringer). It will blister the paint on your walls. When Winter sings "I was born in a crossfire hurricaine" you know he means it. The best version EVER of that tune. The entire recording is at the energy level of this video.

  • That Drummer is a powerhouse. jesus

  • Yes he was and he already was when I first jammed with him in ~ 72 but I first thought he was a chick sort of pretty. Nice guy great player son of an NJ politician. Unfortunately he died long ago. RIP Richard Hughes, Powerhouse.

  • if you watch this with no sound it is like watching popcorn pop.

  • What are you saying Sven?

  • The Orlando Pop Festival at the speedway in the spring of 1970 featured Johnny & Edgar, Leslie West & Mountain, Tin House and others but that was the gig when Floyd got "discovered".

  • wow from sharing the stage with johnny winter to making shit to kill people, that's a long elevator ride down!

  • More like "making shit to kill people who want to kill Americans".Dumb fuck.

  • "ding dong" or should i say "twinkie" or maybe it's "gibson brand loyalty"-you should read some books, you might discover that almost every single person killed by those weapons is just a regular person, just like you and me or at least me.just ask osama "chillin" bin laden. i hope you don't live in the colonies!!and for all you ranting supposed patriots,i love johnny winter as much as you and he most likely shares my view of what a fucking waste of people and money the military is.over and out.

  • Politically correct media driven robot?I thought so Doviejames!Go enjoy you're gormet meal at Applebees with your boyfriend.

  • Months later I hope you get this. You are an asshole. Maybe he is making weapons to defend and save lives. Dumbass.

  • I really think there should be a great push to try to get JW into the hall of Rock and Roll. I think he is already in the Blues Hall of Fame. The Man is always touring and playing. He is the essential Rock and Roll and Blues Guitar player. He is just getting better and better as the years go by. Listen to his version of Red House. It is smoking

  • Hey josealonsoleon ! Floyd Radford's solo was just standard blues scale with speed.

Johnny Winter is DOG oh sorry GOD !!!

  • At the time of this video Floyd Radford (the guitar player) was 22 years old. He first came to play with the "Winters" at the age of 17 years old as a guitar player in a warm up act called Tin House. He is now an electrical engineer for a defense company in Florida (Martin-Lockheed) designing weapons for the military.

  • 2 super guitarist in the same band!! Can it be better?

  • the only man that can make a firebird sing

  • That's the late great Richard Hughes on drums. He played for Johnny from 1973 to 1976. Randy Jo Hobbs is on bass; also gone, but not forgotten.

  • whoa, female drummer!

  • Ok ya numb nuts--- wish and want- can you do better -- i can play-can you?? Prove it!!

  • Holy! that f-ing rocks! who is that other guitar player?

  • Is that Jerry La Croix playing the solo? I can't tell because the camera man kept jerkin' the camera around so you can't really tel.

  • Sorry, he was a vocalist, I meant Floyd.

  • Floyd did a helluva job keeping up to Johhny!

  • if you are interested in getting a never released pro shot 2 hour concert dvd of johnny winter from germany 1979 reply to this comment or send message via youtube with your email address and ill send you all the details. a full list of never released classic rock dvd's from the 70' and 80's like stones, who, zeppelin, costello, talking heads, kinks, pretenders, springsteen, neil young, csny, rod stewart & faces, califirnia jam 2, 1986 bridge concert, van halen, clash, pink floyd wall concert more

  • can't wait to see johnny winter and james cotton in cobourg tomarrow

  • ES 335 and a Firebird tear the shit outt this.

  • This shit fucking ROCKS!!!!! Johnny Winter was/is the "REAL-DEAL"..... He was so quick & clean, it'd give you goose-bumps!!! It still does...... God Bless Johnny Winter~~

  • @DOConROCK1 Johnny was the very antithesis of "clean". He was sloppy but fun.

  • @beeroosterm "SLOPPY"?!!?? Hahahahahahahahaha!!!!! What the fuck is wrong with you?? Have you ever 'seen' him?? SLOPPY.......PffffffffffffffffffT

  • @DOConROCK1 I've seen Johnny 20 times over the years. He misses notes constantly; that's just Johnny. Doesn't matter to me - but he is sloppy. Mostly due to his poor eyesight and the fact he was loaded up most of the time. He's failing fast now...

  • @beeroosterm OK.....I'll say this.....in his earlier years he was unstoppable.

Yes, he doesn't look very good, today, I doubt you, or I will ever see him again, 'LIVE'.

Which is a shame. At least he kicked the heroin.

    Long Live Johnny Winter~~

  • @DOConROCK1 I love Johnny - he was my favorite along with Jimi until I discovered Steve Morse...

I'm frankly surprised that Johnny can even function at this point. If you look at his "performance" a few weeks ago at the Crossroads Festival (video is on YouTube), it appears he has completely lost it. He should not have been allowed on stage - it was embarrassing to watch. According to his website however, he is at this moment playing in Poland and will be in Mississippi on 12/3.

  • @DOConROCK1 His heroin habit was done with many years ago. He continued taking methadone, however, and drank his face off for the next 25 years, which finally caused him to lose his shit completely in the very late 90's. I saw him every year, twice a year and it became obvious around 1997 that he was having trouble. By 1999, he was playing poorly, and in 2000 had some kind of major malfunction. He was shaking like an Alzheimer's patient, couldn't walk, couldn't play. He has never recovered.

  • @beeroosterm A very interesting read......"THANX"!! I went to see him in a club in Seattle, for about the 7th time....We waited an hour in line, & it (finially) started to move......& then grabbed a seat & waited. Johnny never did show!!!! I was pissed....was he Smacked-Back then??

    RIP--JIMI

  • @beeroosterm .....STUD, I apologize!!!

That shit was painful to watch, & it hurts me, & now I'm sad.

With his abuse & being a freakin' Albino, never helped him!!!

Again......"GOD BLESS JOHNNY WINTER" I'd love to meet him!!!

  • @DOConROCK1 Yes...I just finished his autobiography. His physical troubles were nothing compared to his chemical self-abuse - and he blames his anti-depressant medication for his troubles! BULLSHIT! It turns out he was taking klonopin (for panic attacks), Risperdal (depression), and methadone (heroin withdrawal) while washing it down with straight vodka! Daily. For years. You cannot - I repeat - cannot mix all these drugs! And Johnny is a big fat liar for saying he couldn't have known....

  • @beeroosterm Johnny has a huge case of denial. Strange that he would admit to all this stuff in his book why denying it publicly. Any idiot would know you cannot mix alcohol with benzodiazipines (the Klonipin) and methadone. It is EXTREMELY dangerous! To do it for years at a time is plain suicidal. He fell down the stairs of his house when he broke his hip - as he was walking around in a stupor. Johnny has caused all his own suffering. Sad, sad, sad....

  • @beeroosterm ......I can probably find that book......AND.....will. Got OZZY's & CLAPTON''s, too.

Am very surprised at the read........NOT because I'm surprised at his actions.......

It's because it happened to someone I 'LOVE"``

Please Email me for a minute------I wanna know more. Some way I can identify with.......the Man.

  • @DOConROCK1 Just go down to Barnes + Noble...This book is no great read. It provides some interesting biographical details of course...but Johnny doesn't have much to say. The author refers to him as "taciturn", but I think he's just losing his mind in general. Look at any of his recent interviews - he always appears mentally impaired. Look at one of his older ones - he's far more animated and talkative. I love his playing but he's on his way out. Bet he'll be dead soon.

  • @beeroosterm You've used the term 'taciturn', but I've always perceived Johnny, whether young or old, as soft-spoken, humble, & gracious.

I'm not trying to create division...just to show how folks can be perceived.

  • @beeroosterm ......Again....I apologize.... His cancel was in 97.

  • oh yeah, that was with floyd and randy jo hobbs

  • saw jw at winterland in 76. he followed ted nugent.blew the nuges doors off.not even close

  • An amazing performance.I'd be interested to know if any of the live performances I've seen on YouTube are available on CD here in the UK.There's surprisingly little live stuff around? Many thanks for posting this.X

  • Guit fuck fest!ha,ha.Yea!

  • Ashamed to admit I'm a Texan and cut my teeth on Johnny Winter albums and never heard of Floyd. Great counterpoint gitfiddle player.

  • fucking hell

  • Johnny Winter and Floyd Radford played the best live concerts imaginable. They had an uncanny sense for the others genius.

  • yees

  • I saw this line up in the mid 70's

    They were incredible

They could jam for ever and did put out an incredible show. There is no better guitar than johnny's guitar. In my mind he is the best

  • I remember this...This kicks ass!!!

    thanks for posting this video.

  • I love this lineup.

  • also Richard Hughes on drums and the legendary Randy Jo Hobbs on bass.

  • as I remember Hughes and Hobbs are gone...whatever happed to Radford?

  • Floyd is still into music, but he went to work for Lockheed aero Ind.

  • Thanks for the info.

  • I thought this is one of Johnny's best line ups and certainly the most fun on tour at that time 74 - 75 ! I saw them at largo arena at that time and almost passed out cause we were all the way down front watching and the crowd was chrushing us I was 13 and my older brother 17 pulled me out of there by the neck cuz I was passing out ! I would of died for sure but my time was not yet and it was still after I came back from death's door really good jamming !

  • WOW, Floyd Radford on guitar! One of the all time greats. Too bad the Tin House album was never released on CD. Hey Floyd, do you have a band these days??

  • nice bass line at 28
