You know, the modern song is not half bad. It would have been better used for an update of the original show instead of a total overhaul. The new series is very, very different. I liked all the Vowels [except mr y] being female. I liked the simple names and stories; it was fun. This is a bit...er... un-fun
@incrediblehulkmovies actualy they had changed the letter people in 1990 to a revised version aka different version all
letter people that relied on junk food they had deleted and chnged same thing with mr x they thought they were making fun of handycapt people. some people were the same but just with different lyrics in their song the rest they changed because they thought they had bad influences on kids...
The original Ms. I was the prophet of her kIds' upcomIng lIves. It Involved constant Itching and going, known as hyperactIvIty, and rItalIn (which many would IncreasIngly be gIven). It also Involved an era of Innocence endIng with computers connectIng Information and the world faster and IndIscrImInately (and war beIng televIsed).
Another strange memory that mIss I brIngs: staples being scarce In school because of war.
If you thought that was something, check out her appearance in "Miss I & Indigo the Ink Keeper" in the related videos. That's a little bit more up your alley of innuendo.
the part where she says, 'but my most incredible, best invention is......i invented ME' always made me pause in kindergarten on some existentialist, "how did she invent/create herself?" but she was still a favorite
I loved the original Miss I and Miss O, I could see why they changed them, BUT they had the best songs and characters. I guess the negative aspects of being stubborn and itchy were considered to much, but I liked the edge. I never saw the show in school but on local PBS in St. Louis. This show was my OBSESSION when I was child, I knew nothing about the kindergarten school program until I was an adult.
That's a funky beat in the instrumentals. I use to love listening to the record of this as a kid (shows my age if I remember the records of the letter people)
I really need to show my mom this video; she would crack up at that Elton John puppet in the background! I wasn't a huge fan of Miss I as a kid... she just creeped me out for some reason. (Why does her speaking voice sound so familiar? My friend and I both swear we've heard it somewhere else...)
I wonder why they changed her, I guess making a woman who was known for her "itch" was seen as political incorrect. I loved her this way she was so COOL BABY!!!!
perhaps shes itchy because of her clothes

@gilgamess Thank you! I haven't seen that since it was first broadcast. It was Corny Cornpone and I was only off by one "neck" in my quote.

Weird -- I never saw that first itchy video! But I remember the second one from grade school.

Of all the Letter People songs, I always tend to gravitate toward Miss I. I always remember the rhythm from the record and the 8-track game.
The original Miss I vocalist sounds like the vocalist on the original Chiquita Banana commercial, just to let you know.
