This is BS, USPS will not deliver packages of that size to residential addresses in my town, if it doesn't fit into the mailbox at the street, it doesn't get delivered, even though the house is within 50 feet of the street. The guy will not get out of the truck. USPS service sucks, it is time to get rid of it, UPS, FEDEX will be more expensive but we will get better service. It's a bloated dinosaur.

I ordered a book for my business class on the 19th and payed extra for 2 day shipping because I knew I had an exam I needed to be ready for on the 27th but low and behold its the night before the 27th and I still have no book to study from! I really doubt I will ever order using the usps again. In the past ups has always been on time and i have never had a damaged package from them. To me thats worth the extra money.

If you ever deal with refunds, the money you pay for nondelivered/lost packages (especially internationally!) will amount to more than you save than if you had just went with FedEx. For domestic, nothing beats First Class Mail. For larger items, might as well go to UPS who will offer you a better rate.
My favorite is Fedex, because they deliver weekends too. I hate having to time my online purchases just so it doesn't fall in a friday, and then I have to wait until monday.

If you want to ship fast and cheap go for USPS 3 to 4 days deilivery flat rate box. if you want tracking number add .60 cents more pretty cheap. Fedex and UPS cost more than that. But if you are not in rush or hurry go for ground shipping which take 7 to 12 business days go for UPS and Fedex ground which included tracking number. Usps ground shipping cost bit more than Fedex and ups.

I think the USPS lost almost 5 billion in 2009, this is insane. Get with the times, do the following: Go to 401k or IRA'S-defined contribution plans, not defined benefits. Do like everyone else, get rid of the BS retiree health care obligation. Congress needs to let the Usps have more flexibilty in pricing, less losses on mail, price mail for profit.

Only reason why the USPS came 4 hours later is because the address that the parcels belong to is not at the beginning of the route. Trust me, I'm mail carrier myself and I know, there are times that some of my customers receive their Priority Mails Package as early as 8am in the morning on certain days, depending on where in the beginning of the route they live on.
