  • @MemphisGrooves My pleasure

  • What a sample from the roots kool on , that comes in at 0.09 sec that would have to b wana of the best songs I've ever heard

  • 'Come get ya Kool On....the stars are made to shine.'

  • roots

  • the roots.

  • steppin it UP

  • I thought I heard everything that DJ put out, but never, ever heard this one. DJ Rogers was the man.

  • I love this guy !! So creative. Wish his stuff was available.... Thanks BBaS

  • so many times like now ive been depressed i had a bottle in my hand tryin 2 drown my sorrow

  • Wow what a great guitar sound. Is that guitar slightly out of tune? Jimi Hendrix played out of tune. I wonder if that's where these guys get that disjointed emotional sound from.

  • i saw this album once in the dusty bins but i didn't get a chance to pick it up...darn!

  • pure dopenesssssssssssss

  • GOOD FOR THE SOUL!!!!!

  • This man is truly a musical genius who never really got the credit he deserved. He is now an ordained minister and is doing his thing from the pulpit. He preached at my church on New years eve and the Holy Spirit really moved something mighty through him..

  • I had the pleasure of playing for him when he lived in E. St. Louis, IL for awhile at Haynes Temple COGIC under the late Elder I. Sylvester Haynes (a relative of Nelly). The Haynes family is well respected in the COGIC. DJ Rogers is a great man, minister and his voice was impeccably beautiful. We spent many nights eating chicken and talking church and life.

  • You mean John Legend is trying to sound like DJ Rogers. Not the other way around. I don't think he does at all, but I'm sure that's probably because John Legend is the only one really out right now whose trying to keep this sound alive, and he's the only person you could think of. I'll give him props for that. But this? Irreplaceable!

  • now this is soul music

  • this song reminds me of a modern day John Legend

  • I just came to my sense and found out about this guy, MArvelous!

  • charlie wilson really dug him

  • The song You can Always Count on me Charlie sang in DJs style...DJ turned him on to Lonnie Simmons who got GAP on track but robbed them later.

  • This man could sing!

  • d.j. rogers...is the best artist for those kind of fuck with an ex girlfriend who has anotherone,,,yeahh

  • I would probably kill someone for a copy of Hope Songs Vol. 1 !! D.J. Rogers is a genius. Truly one of a kind.

  • I have a copy of Hope Songs in my basement from the early 80's. It sounds like breakfast is cooking, ie.. it pops a liitle!!!

  • Great Post... D.J. Rogers is the man ....one of the singers people tend to forget. I put him up there with Donny Hathaway and Otis Redding

  • I'd put him up there too - in fact this record reminds me in some ways of Everything is Everything...two guys with heart who had something beautiful to offer people.

  • indeed ... do you have anymore from him I dont own alot of his stuff ,,, but what I heard is absolutely amazing.

  • Tell you what my friend - I'll put another one of the tracks off that album up for you - let me know what you think...
