Best Assault Rifle for lefty use has to be the F2000 by FN Herstal. The weapon system has a forward ejection system to avoid brass in the face and all controls are Ambi. Best SMG for lefty use would be MP7 and the best carbine would probably be the SCAR IMO. M4s blow
i am left handed shooter for airsoft. i like using the eag m4a1..works for me. i watch alot magpul vedeos on youtube.....there no a lot weapon systems and pistols for left handed. i agree.....have research alot for my taste.but, using both hands on eag m4a1 works out. yeah, i've shot an ar-15..i didnt alot of brass in my face. shot alot of bolt and level action rifles too.this a good vedeo to show.. i like it!
@NEWater I believe ranger uses the technique out of good habit and comfort. I have shot real steel with him so it is good to practice the right way, even if it has no use in Airsoft
Ranger, I see that you're running with the Magpul AFG and are using the thumb break method to demonstrate. What are your thoughts on the thumb break method? Do you find it a gimmick, or do you think it's viable only for real steel, since the thumb break is meant to manage recoil and muzzle climb?
i'm born left handed and i write and stuff with my left hand, but if i'm arisfoting or whatever. i'm 1007 completely ambi, L96 sniper the bolt is on the right i can 100% use it, i think if you can't adept to your gun. you really shouldn't have it i guess but i like the m4 fired left or right handed but good tips ill actually use em' =)
Hey RANGER Or anyone that knows, where you in the 75th? Where where you deployed/ how many years? Only answer if you feel comfortable I understand I would just like to know.
I'm A lefty..... I get it from my father... He was in the National Guard..... And He fought in Desert Storm and Iraqi Freedom..... But He hated the M4.....
I would like you to know a few things, on a real AR platform rifle, you do NOT need to hit the foreordained assist after chambering a round nor do you need to pull back the charging handle. Say you have one round in the chamber, none in your magazine. You pull the trigger, Bang, bolt locks back, you reload your magazine and hit the bolt catch which releases the bolt, loading another round into the chamber. You, apparently, have not shot a real steal AR platform...
If you want your gun pointing down for a 2 point sling in your situation, why don't you have the sling go over your left shoulder so instead of your right? That the you can strap down your gun when needed to.
whats so difficult to learn shooting the gun right handed? I`m left handed but I never shot a gun like a lefty. In my country its incorrect and also writing with left hand was incorrect until 1991 year.
Being lefty though and shooting with the real steel version, wouldn't you be getting sprayed in the face from all the cartridges? Or at least it would surely be messing with your vision
2:44 you never released the bolt it would never fire in real life, but if you were in mid magazine all you would of done then was mess up you tactical reload by releasing your extra round already chambered and it still wouldn't be ready to fire. The forward assist is only meant to help seat the bullet better to decrease the chances of a jam. Just look it over no hard feelings.
@TheWolfslairairsoft Using the charging handle by pulling it completely back will unlock the bolt. And if I was in mid mag and put in a new mag, me pulling the charging handle back would expend the round that was in the chamber and reload another round. I hit the forward assist for added measure every time. Why not, my hand was on its way to the muzzle.
In real life though, wouldn't wearing a three point sling left handed interfere with the brass ejection?
Other than that, it's good stuff. I've never liked M4s for the reason that they just aren't very ambidextrous friendly, but your methodology seems to work pretty well. FN Herstal seems to be solving the problem though, since all of their assault rifles and carbines are more lefty friendly.
On the real steel you don't actually need to hit the forward feed assist, as all it does is make sure the bolt is closed right and that the extractor is griping the rim of the bullet, however not hitting it makes the gun prone to jamming btw please correct me if I'm wrong

I'm a righty and I'm working on shooting left to make shooting from certain positions easier and for the fact that having a rifle shouldered on a particular shoulder makes turning left with a weapon shouldered right and vise versa allows for tighter turns than making a right turn with your right hand on the trigger or a left hand turn with your left hand on the trigger. Thanks for the video!
Hey Ranger, is that a real Trijicon reflex? It looks sexy on your M4, especially with the Magpul accessiories. Also, if you did have a TM or a GBBR M4 that had a functioning bolt catch, you could always get a Magpul BAD lever.
So the point of the forward assist is what? The original ar15/m16a1 didn't have it to my knowledge. Is it just to decrease the chance of round not chambering? Or does it have some other more important mission?
Thx for the info, in advance! :)
I'm an ar-noob, only shot an rk95 which is derived from the ak design. And it doesn't have the forward assist thing. And it never failed on me, even though thighter fittings than an original ak desing.
Thanks for the video!! Ranger, since you're a lefty, when you were in the military did you have to use a righty gun? Or are there rifles for lefties, so we don't get a mag full of hot brass in our face?
@TheShwaboy No they don't have "LEFTY" guns in the military . I needed to learn how to manipulate the M4 as a lefty. And no brass hits the face... that is fib derived from the right handed industry. The brass actually goes over the right should, unless I deliberately put my face in the way.
Is anyone else like this: Im right handed when it comes to drawing, writing, throwing a ball, and my sidearm (KWA P226) ect. but when im holding my KWA M4 my left hand is on the trigger and my rights holding the vertical grip is anyone else like this?
I dont think you need to smack the forward assist, and it would be quite easy to ride the bolt that way, causing a jam, but hey, thats another way of doing it.

@1xXitachiXx1 No.. your absolutely right. The military teaches the fundamentals over and over again. A lot of advanced movement is what Ive learned through the private sector.
A fellow lefty! I'm currently putting together a G&P WOC and as I'm putting it together I'm thinking in my had "I'll have ti change that, that too, and that" Lol.

that really help im abidex so when im in cqb and i come up to a right corner and just a wiered position i swith left but it isnt always easy this is a great tutorial/tip
@FacePunchVideos I have watch the videos, but everything I have a said in this video has been things I have learned in the military and private sector. Magpul does not teach what I have taught in this video. Chris Costa don't have nothing on me... J/K... Hes awesome.
thank you ranger! its nice to see another lefty! :D youve definetly broadened my skill in using a rifle left handed, and youve made me more confident in doing so
Y'know you can learn all this and do everything different, OR just learn to shoot right-handed. It's worked for the Marines, for about... how many years now? Not saying this isn't a good video, I love it, but it seems kinda unnecessary.
@L0OkBEh1ndU Some people have a difficult time shooting with the opposite hand they are used to. Its like righting left handed for a right handed person. Im just giving my knowledge of my experience as a lefty myself. Left or right handed... it doesn't matter to me... as long as your efficient at what you do.
@sanfelipe007 Airsoft can be an awesome tool for training for real steel. We cant always afford ammo, and we cant shoot at home (Legally). Airsoft is an awesome tool for training and manipulating any weapon system. Most airsoft guns are good replicas of the real thing.

@johnzeppfan
1.For me to use the bolt release as a lefty I would have to turn the weapon sideways and hit it. Added waste movement.
2.Pulling the charging handle back is another way to release the bolt. The bolt release isn't the only way.
3.Hitting the forward assist isn't necessary on every reload. But because I'm using the charging handle, not the bolt release, I do for added measure.
4.I was in the U.S. Army for 4 years, Combat Veteran, Infantry. So yes... I have fire this weapon system.

PrimeTimeOps 2 months ago
there air ambidextrous attachments for the m4. there is an attachment where you can have the bolt catch on the mag release side.

I am a better shot with my left, but I am naturally right handed so that is how I use my gun.

Going by your title and stance I imagine you've been watching the Magpul DVDs. I just finished act of the tactical carbine.
FacePunchVideos 2 months ago
@FacePunchVideos I have watch the videos, but everything I have a said in this video has been things I have learned in the military and private sector. Magpul does not teach what I have taught in this video. Chris Costa don't have nothing on me... J/K... Hes awesome.

thank you ranger! its nice to see another lefty! :D youve definetly broadened my skill in using a rifle left handed, and youve made me more confident in doing so
808jayhawk 2 months ago
@808jayhawk This is why I do it, to help!
RAINBOWOPSdotCOM 2 months ago
Y'know you can learn all this and do everything different, OR just learn to shoot right-handed. It's worked for the Marines, for about... how many years now? Not saying this isn't a good video, I love it, but it seems kinda unnecessary.
L0OkBEh1ndU 2 months ago
@L0OkBEh1ndU Some people have a difficult time shooting with the opposite hand they are used to. Its like righting left handed for a right handed person. Im just giving my knowledge of my experience as a lefty myself. Left or right handed... it doesn't matter to me... as long as your efficient at what you do.

i like airsoft guns but i always ask myself why buy a lot of equipment for shot a toy gun?
i cant kill anyone T-T
sanfelipe007 2 months ago
@sanfelipe007 Airsoft can be an awesome tool for training for real steel. We cant always afford ammo, and we cant shoot at home (Legally). Airsoft is an awesome tool for training and manipulating any weapon system. Most airsoft guns are good replicas of the real thing.
RAINBOWOPSdotCOM 2 months ago
@RAINBOWOPSdotCOM the huge problem is find nice airsoft guns :3
but the real steel ..nah they are easy to find everywhere jaajajaja
i mean i am from mexico and i cant find a store where they sell this guns.

@RAINBOWOPSdotCOM great videos, i was just wondering how you put a magpul stock on a kwa m4, does it require modification and what? thanks :)
embo920 2 months ago
@embo920 NO, Just a tight fit.
RAINBOWOPSdotCOM 2 months ago
Ranger, why don't you just get a 416? It's ambi' and from what I hear it feels as close as you can get to an m4.
Mournivalofsons 2 months ago
@Mournivalofsons Im so used to the M4 that it would feel weird trying an ambi system. But it never hurts to broaden your horizon.
