  • is

Corsair Gamer Series 700W enough for this cpu?

  • I am planning on buying this processor combined with 4gb ddr2 ram and an ATI Radeon 5450 (soon to be 6870) and was wondering, will the processor and graphics card do me good for gaming for a while?

  • @iJordan1811I have what you saying . yes but dont expect much of this card.

  • @NewRisingSong What the 6870? I thought that was a good card?

  • @iJordan1811 i was talking about 5450 :)

  • @NewRisingSong Ahh, yeah the 5450 ain't that good still it's done well for £40, can still play (most) games that are still coming out. Even if it's only on low I don't care as long as I can play it :)

  • What's the equivalent to AMD?

  • @Rodriguito123456 AMD Athlon II X4 630 Quad Core

  • @DoctorAnees Isn't it the 945 the equivalent?

  • @Rodriguito123456 not sure

  • could I sell my core 2 duo and get this processor?

  • @K9rosie no way, unless you pay 150 bucks extra

  • Hey guys which 1 is better Core 2 Quad Q9400 2.66GHz or Core i3 530 2.93 Ghz??

  • @TheRealMindblock that doesnt mae sense.

  • @LFCforEver12341 haha i see. I didn't mean that loool but nvm, i got an awsum pc now (:

  • Is this worth buying? I got a Intel Dual Core around 2,50 Ghz, its decent but Im planning on upgrading, do you think that is a good purchase?

  • @ZonixZ59706090 if you don't max out your cpu with what you do now. then don't spend the money. however if you use programs that can make use of the 4 cores then get this cpu.. been working great for me.

  • @GreatNovaVideo

Well, yeah I mean, it costs for me around 175 dollars, and I want to increase my gaming experience.

Basically, I wanna run most games on very high graphics smoothly with shadows and other effects.

    Here are my specs:

    Nvidia Geforce G210 512 MB

    3 GB RAM

    Pentium Dual Core E5200 @ 2,50 Ghz 2,50 Ghz

    Windows 7 Home Edition

Many people say that my graphic card is not a gaming card, is that true or does it work as well as others?

I will comment again, im not done yet :D

  • @ZonixZ59706090 the upgrade you need is video card get a 260 or up if you want to see a boost in fps. your cpu is ok but if you can overclock it a bit, to about 2.8 it would be great. new games are more gfx then cpu

  • @GreatNovaVideo

Okay, but how about the graphic card I sent you? Is that one good? Since I'm not gonna buy a CPU then the max price for Graphic card can be 150 dollars?

  • @GreatNovaVideo

Well, you know what CPU I want to buy, but I have also been looking on not too expensive Graphic Cards, and I've found one for around 100 dollars, its a

Gainward GeForce GTS250 1GB PhysX CUDA

Sure, I can run most games on a high graphic, but on most games it start lagging when I turn on Shadows, Antialiasing (think I spelled it wrong) , and also sometimes when I increase Resolution to 1280 x 1024. Not on every game though.

What would you do? read my previous comment too.

  • @ZonixZ59706090 i would go with a 260 and up. they all have physx on the cards. i have a 260 216 core and i can play cod mw2 on maxed out settings and full screen size. with no fps lag at all. also the game does not take up a lot of cpu. i think i use about 15 to 25 %

  • @GreatNovaVideo

Okay sweet, do you know how much, the 260 costs? Not exactly, but around?

  • @ZonixZ59706090 around 150 to 250

  • @GreatNovaVideo

Hmm, I see. I will take a look over these cards. Thanks man for your help =)

  • QUAD 2 CORE Q6600 3.21 ghz ???? WTF ??????? It's almost like the intel I7 Extreme 975 3.33 ghz core 2 quad

  • C2Q Q8400 sry :P

  • My specs are quite good. the only thing is my graphics

    ASUS P5KPL-AM

    C2Q Q6600 3.21Ghz

    4GB RAM

    640GB HDD

    *GMA3100*!?

Give me a graphic card as my bday present pls...

    ASUS EN9800GTX

  • i wanna buy this cpu but i have one question

can i use my motherboard (MS-7204)

    sorry for my bad english^^

  • @ViceAc

look st the specs and see if it uses "LGA 775" I did a quick google search but did not find the specs.

  • could i put this in the gigabyte ga-ep43 ud3l? and would I have to change any settings or will it notice it by itself?

  • im thinking about replacing my e6850 duo for the q9400 i have 4gb ram and geforce gtx275 i want to play gta 4 at better frames is it worth it? will i notice improvement

  • @Apfitt of you have a good mobo then just over clock the one you have and buy a after market cpu fan.

  • I have HD 5770 1GB and Q9400 ^^

works great and no problems to run crysis on very high with 8x AA, check my videos^^

  • Will i be able to get better performance on newer games on maximum settings with this CPU,Evga 9800GT 1GB and 4GB ram??? :O :)

  • i would get a better video card if your looking to get the best fps in newer games

  • I wish i had the money for a GTX 295 or HD 5870 :'(

But Im not in graphics of games,im just looking for fun like physics and great storylines, that's what matters, but that will all change in me when Crysis 2 comes out XD

  • A Q9400, 9800 gt 1 GB, and 4 GBs of RAM will be great for most games.

    Bioshock, COD4, COD5, COD6, F.E.A.R. 2, Far Cry 2, Dead Space, L4D and L4D2, and so on.

  • @Usul573 Thanks,and how about crysis,GTA IV or Assasin's creed ???:)

  • Should be great for Assassin's Creed.

GTA 4 has been criticized for having high system recommendations and not doing well even if you exceed them, and Crysis is a complete bitch but sure it'll do them fine.

Setup could probably almost play Crysis fluently at 1920x1200 and high settings.

You're exceeding both of those games recommended systems, and it's a powerful setup so It'll do them at least decently.

  • It's a yes , or maybe a no if you got low CPU , At least get Pentium 4 for beginning gaming systems , if you higher then that , everything is fine , not like mine .. Intel Celeron D

  • @TanJianWei92 haha,I think I'm gonna get the q9400 266Ghz for gaming,i have no other choice right now,but from what i read in forums,it's one hell of a CPU,beats the shit out of newer games, almost 50 + fps in all CPU demanding games, and that's what I'm looking for! Plus with a 9800G and 4gb ram Im gonna play smooth definitly :):):)

  • Aww , good for you :( i still have few days more to go to get Intel Core 2 Duo E7500 or Quad Q8400 depend on my Chinese Lunar New Year red packets good luck and have fun :D

  • do u need to buy the thermal paste seperatly?

  • nope, comes with it.

  • thx

  • I have the same!

  • got this chip and a xigmatek dark knight i got mine to 3.6 running at 38 degrease Celsius without load and about 47 with load im pretty happy with it

  • i have a Q8400 and based on the specs in the vid the only difference is 2 more mb of l2 cache (the Q8400 has 4mb l2 cache vs. the 6 on the Q9400) correct me if im wrong

  • thats the only difference that matters but you might aswell go for the Q9550 ad it has 12 mb

  • the 9550 is a bit quicker , 2.83 GHz, apposed to the 9400's 2.66. not much but if your overclocking it helps

  • The heatsink looks so puny and sad :/

  • i've to get this!!! thx for upload video=)

  • do u get the sticker to put on ur comp with this ? :P

  • yes

  • i have it now Q9400 2.6, asus P5QL-EM motherboard, geeforce 9500 GT 1GB,2GB DDR2 w/500 wts PSU/... my question now, is this really good for my personal gaming PC, what do you think?

  • if your going to be gaming then i would say up the 9500 to a 260 or higher.

the 9500 will play some games but when you get in to games such as cod4 and far cry you will have some problems and it will start to suffer.

  • you could get away with the nividia 250 its what i got and it runs good enough to almost max out the top games of today, without SLI.

  • wtf! how come it came with small stock fan?! i brought my P4 HT before but the stock fan was bit bigger than this..

  • the cpu runs cooler then a old p4 lol.. i have it oc'ed and the stock fan works great. but if you look at my other videos you will see i have lots of fans and a great case for air flow.

  • @GreatNovaVideo im buying buying Q8400 soon but i know it well be the same stock fan should i use my older P4HT stock fan? ..by the way great video

  • you should use the stock fan that comes with the cpu. it is designed for that cpu and you may void the warranty if you use a different fan.

like i said i have mine oc'ed with the stock fan and it works great.. if your going to do heavy oc'ing then get a good heat sink and fan.

  • okay that's great thanks! xD

  • hey I am looking to buy this processor. How did you pay for this?

    thanks for the upload.

  • Still looking to buy one?

The Core i5 looks like it's about $10 more.

  • nope. I think I will go for AMD Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition 3.2 GHz. amd's always have better deals.

  • Looks like it's about $189, and pretty similar performance compared to the Core i5 which is $199, they even said the Core i5 is close to the X4 965, which costs a bit more.

Probably good not to say always, I've been 100% raised Intel and fully support Intel, though it's your call of course.

  • Well micro center has the i5 for $149 :D so if you have one in your area like me theres no reason to go for anything else if your building a pure gaming pc :) Oh and main reason 965 could even beat the i5 in benchmarks is cus they bench at stock i5 is 2.6ghz stock and 965 is 3.4ghz stock.......... so if the 965 was 2.6 the i5 would annihilate it.!

  • I wonder how the i5 overclocks.

    2.66 GHz btw.

I'd recommend the i7-860 over it, HT and 2.8 GHz, but the i5 is great value for just about anyone.

Even the most demanding games recommend 2.5 GHz Quad core.

    $150 for an i5, wow.

For $1070 you can get Win 7, Core i7-860, 8 GB DDR3 RAM, 1 TB 7200 RPM HD, GTS 240, DVD, Wireless N, Media Reader, gigabit, and an 18.5 inch monitor, multimedia keyboard and mouse.

There's even more types coming with better performance for less, look em up.

  • A 2.66GHZ Q9400 with 6MB of l2 cache, is almost even with a X4 955, at 3.2GHZ and 6MB of l3 cache and 2MB of l2.

Intel's build quality is much much better.

If the Q9400 was running 3.2ghz it would blow the 955 away.

  • changed my mind. now i like this processor: Intel Core i7 860, S1156, Lynnfield, Quad Core, 2.80GHz

  • much better.

  • Ok, I have order my computer and its supposed to come in 2 hours.. hopefully.

and I was wondering it could run crysis maxed out?

    specs:

    Intel Core 2 QuadQ9400

    nVidia GT120

    6GB DDR2 Ram

    1TB Hard drive memory

    ---------

Can it run Crysis maxed out?

  • not even close.

maybe on low + low res

  • Uhm.. well this was 1 month ago and now I play Crysis on maxed out with 55-60 fps soo

  • 120 gt = 9500 gt

9500gt is a shit card , and can't max crysis

  • I changed durr

  • of course guy

  • No. The GT120 is a terrible card. It's among the low-end cards of the newer graphics cards by Nvidia.

For an example, the dating 8800GT would be far more powerful, as it was in the high-end spectrum of the previous generation.

  • is this a good processor for Crysis maxxed out?

  • yes and it overclocks really well with the right board and a after market cooler..

  • ola amigo, prara que serve (( virtualizaton technology support )) no processador faz diferença nao ter isso?

  • i just bot it...lovin it...

  • would this cpu be good for gaming

  • yes it is...

this cpu also is easy to overclock...

    i'm use it...
