Truth of the matter is, not everyone needs 'the four cores.' Or, rather, the four cores are not math, science, social studies, or english to someone. Instead they're english, theatre, technology, and philosophy. To another, biology, chemistry, art, and geography. Some people don't have four cores, some have 1, some have 8! I hate the credit system-- let me do what interests me, once I've found what I'm not good at. Don't perpetuate a system of cubes. Cubes are boring. At least they are to me.
Not everyone CAN type using the ten finger system. I did have a "typing" class but the teacher pretty much just handed out the homework and insisted that we use that system whenever we type at home. Well I used to type a lot then and using her system which took me three times the time would have sucked the joy out of it. In middle school, when you are SUPPOSED to learn it, we were just given poems to type, didn't matter how you did it as long as you typed at damn poem. That's school to you...

I am not a great student, but I do see the value in education. Skills you learn in school can have transferable advantages.
For example I may never need to communicate in french, but taking french did help me learn and understand more about languages in general, like before G8, I had no real idea what nouns and verbs were, I could use language, but I did not understand it.
By taking french, I now have the skills to learn a new language faster than if I had never done so before.

Algebra and higher math will NEVER be used except for people who need it. And that's what COLLEGE is for. To teach people specifics that they need for their job. I wanted to take business math because it's actually useful for using math in practical ways like paying bills or what-not but nooooooooo.... f-ing algebra. I agree with your argument. I HATE school. Indeed normal school is boring and -more then never- timewasting.
High School is diffrent, 1st: you get to meet people with same interrests as you and this you make great friends and learn from them and their skills to improbe your own. 2nd: Teachers focus on the stuff you WANT to learn, thus makes it more simpler, easier and interresting.
3rd: No religion Bullshit.

School is useful , at first it can be annoying but trust me when you have already learned the basics you'll notice the difference when you are studying the university(in my case an engineering career) when you are forced to learn by yourself and by any means, of course also to get a good job the college degree and a title are a must and I mean a good job not some mediocre one with which you can earn enough for a living.

I am not a great student, but I do see the value in education. Skills you learn in school can have transferable advantages.
For example I may never need to communicate in french, but taking french did help me learn and understand more about languages in general, like before G8, I had no real idea what nouns and verbs were, I could use language, but I did not understand it.
By taking french, I now have the skills to learn a new language faster than if I had never done so before.

i am home schooled i love it alot

There's something about coercing people into public, secular school that actually seems good. I know that sounds strange, but if you've grown up with fundamentalist Creationists, might you understand why teaching "what to think" (here are the facts of evolution...) is important? You say they teach what to think instead of how to think, but you can't teach someone to think for themselves. This was a good video. I was expelled and hated the idea of government forcing school but I now work for one.
