@kwebber1234 First of all, what are your specs and what do you plan to use the pc for? The asus is cheaper but you lose out on crossfire with prices about to go down with the launch of the new cards. Plus one look at those heat sinks makes me think you'll have heat and some power issues. What are you pairing it with?
@kwebber1234 Out of curiosity, why are you going for that processor? As a general rule you processor should cost the same as your VGA. Your bottleneck will be that processor. For an extra $22-30 you can get an AMD Phenom II X2 555 Black Edition which you can unlock to 4 cores etc and have a great performance boost while putting that h70 to good use. The rest is ok with that motherboard.
@mrbyam64 o shit! thnx for the advice dude! plus on top of that when i save up about 200 bucks more im gonna bo get myself a water cooling kit. FULL. THANKS for the tip.
@mrbyam64 "As a general rule you processor should cost the same as your VGA" What? is that your rule? that's a loud of bull. It's true that you cannot use a crappy X2 250 or something like that and use a highend graphics card. That's a real bottleneck..
Easy to overclock that cpu. Got mine to 4 ghz. I also have same cooler, but i have replaced the corsair fans, so now i have a much more silent cooler. Getting under roomtemperature on idle, when gaming 30-35, and on full load im getting max 43 after 20 houres in prime. Got my cpu running at 1.45v
Nice hardarw but that case was ugly as.... paint it perhaps?
@gamerboy249 When I first installed in it I was getting 30c, then it broke in. Not it throttles down and i've seen it idling at 17c. Never goes beyond 30c at load.
@mrbyam64 thats nice, im plannin to get one h70 soon, as my q6600 is running like 80C when i play mass effect 2.. God knows what will happen if i run prime 95..
BTW, can you tell me the size of your h70 rad because my mid-tower case has very small space to install the rad.. I have 13cm of free space at the back of my case where the 120mm exhaust fans are to be installed..
Also, how is the H70 running these days?
Still all good?

Nice. You actually have some room for H70 the with a top mounted PSU.
BTW, that is a HUGE case. Nice for airflow.

Would you recommend the H70 over a Zalman 9500? I have a Phenom II x2 555 unlocked at x4 B55 @ 3.8GHz with a ASUS M4A77D mobo, evga gtx 260.
DiDolRuChagi 1 year ago
@DiDolRuChagi Definately, I'd considered a Zalman but when I read reviews, the H70 pulls ahead when it comes to load temps and overclocking.
