  • I saw Palmer and Nina back in the 80's when they came to Barrie Ontario Canada..and spoke to all the fans at the mall..It was pretty cool they stood on stage and answered question after question....very good sense of humor.

  • RIP Palmer & Myrtle

  • I like the character Palmer Courtland. Imma miss him for sure

  • WOW... Did'nt know he pass for real, got addicted to watching all my children when I was out of work in the 1996 grow to have a love hate relationship with the character of Palmer and Adam... Tune back in briefly in 2011 to find out about those character 's from long ago... VERY VERY sad to hear James Mitchell has pass in real life.... RIP very accomplished actor!!!! He was one of the reasons I tune in every day back then... R.I.P and I SAY AGAIN R.I.P!

  • What a great tribute and a great song, thanks.

  • Love Palmer and this was a loving tribute...However, we ALL must do something to keep these soaps on the air...Maybe air them at a different time???????

  • Love Palmer and All My Children...Soooo sad the soaps are being cancelled...Can't we do something to keep them at another time?????

  • This is just amazing! Could watch this video all day. Beautiful♥

  • Palmer Cortland was a great character but started to creep me out the way he wanted to keep all the girls in his family to himself.

  • I have watched All My Children since I was about six years old. I've been through more than half his years on this show. He was such a great character and a great actor. He was one of the last of a fading breed of soap actors. He is greatly missed. This was a wondeful triubte and rememberance of him. Thank you.

  • RIP PC..you are missed. I had the honor of meeting James Mitchell back in the late 80's and he was such a gentleman and so kind.He took the time to talk to us and take pictures with him. I'll always have that memory.

  • Wow, I just found out James Mitchell passed exactly one year ago. Just so happen I was watching Shirley Jones movie clips and viewed "Out of My Dreams" from Oklahoma movie and James Mitchell danced as Dream Curly. Side videoclips showed young James Mitchell as a dancer in movie musicals and as Palmer Cortland on All My Children! Watched AMC in 70's during Nina & Cliff episodes & fairytale wedding. Great to see the AMC tribute clips, especially w/Myrtle Fargate at end who knew Palmer's true past.

  • wow! RIP JM.

    Palmer, damn!

  • James Mitchell was awesome as Palmer. One of my favorite characters ever on the show. All My Children has lost so many greats and just isn't the same anymore.

  • A resident at the nursing home where I work wrote to James Mitchell when All my Children was first started. He replied, and they wrote back and forth until the day he died. Fun little tidbit.

  • I've watched all my children, for only the past 10 years. But Palmer death felt like loosing a close one. I really share Opal and Erica sorrow. I DO not like the new writer but the only good thing they did is keeping palmer memory a life.

Rest in peace Palmer, Know that you'll always will be a live in your fans heart and you'll always will be loved and missed by us your fans.

  • Great video. I have watched AMC since I was a child. Great memories. Palmer was the real Dude. Together Palmer and Adam set the bar where it remains untouched to this day. R.I. P. PC

  • what a fabulous job you did! Beautiful song and great clips! Thank you

  • God Bless You.... and thanks for all the fabulous years on AMC!

  • This is a fantastic tribute and so well done! Thanks for sharing!!!

  • I always loved Palmer, he was a great man james mitchel was a great ,,am

  • I had the pleasure a few years ago to meet James Mitchell, and he was a sweet charming man. I loved him as Palmer. Him and Dasy were perfect together. I loved the way she called him PC. He will be missed.

  • Loved Palmer Courtlandt. James MItchell played the character well. RIP

  • Wonderful tribute ! Rest in Peace James

  • RIP James/Palmer..you will be greatly missed. i have enjoyed wathing you all these years!

  • What a wonderful tribute. I enjoyed watching him on AMC for many years. It won't be the same without him.

  • Wow, it's almost like losing my three grandfathers in the late 60's and early

70's. How very sad. James you were very talented. I will never forget your performance when Adam tried to claim Adam Jr. ("J.R") as an infant, and you stood to stand your ground and insisted "I'm the head of the Cooney Clan. This is a Cooney baby and will be raised by Dixie, a Cooney woman." Such strength.

  • So sad, another daytime star has left us. He & Francis Reid will be very much missed. Thank them both for giving us so many wonderful memories. And may

    they both RIP.

  • Very nice tribute. I too remember Palmer being married to Donna, then Daisy, Natalie...

He was always fun to watch.

  • James/Palmer will be missed..... I have been watching all my children for 12 yrs. I was shocked and saddened by his death.... R.I.P we will miss you.... i like how they ended the video with myrtle and palmer together may they both rest in peace.

  • r.i.p. and thank you so much

  • I LOOOOOVED James/Palmer, esp. when he was at his eviliest trying to break up Nina/Cliff back in the day and keeping Daisy away from Nina.. good times! James made Palmer so loveable, and he was such a rascal with a heart underneathe! Man, James/palmer will be missed by this long time fan! RIP James!

  • James & Palmer were both wonderful men and won't be forgotten.

  • Here here raise a drink to James and Palmer, RIP James u earned it !!!!!!!!!!

  • James Mitchell was truley a talented actor and he will be missed.

It was a very nice ending with Palmer and Myrtle..may they both rest in peace <3

  • I was just watching TCM and they were playing a Fred Astaire movie named The Bandwagon. I thought I saw James in it. So I looked him up on Wilkipedia and found out a few minutes ago that he died. He was in that movie and he was a dancer. It was weird seeing him young and maybe better built than Gene Kelly. Wilki said he was a dancer and a ballet dancer too. But one look at him and I knew that I had seen him before. It was his eyes and cheek bones. Age doesnt change all features. RIP.

  • I watched it all the way back when Palmer was married to Donna. I remember watching his wedding to Opal like it was yesterday. The show was so extraordinary back in those days, and he was such a large part of that. We will miss you, James Mitchell!

  • Palmer and Opal. One of the last true love stories in Soaps

  • That was my guy! He gave Adam a run for his money. He also funny

  • I used to love his and Adam's bickerings.

  • I remember Palmer and his doberman's!!

  • Thank you for this wonderful tribute...love the scene with the dog...I remember Daisy! It's the end of an era, and he will be missed.

  • Thank you sooo much, really loved this tribute! He will always be missed on All My Children.

  • Lovely! I ending is very touching. RIP James Mitchell

  • He was one the reason I always tuned in to AMC. Yes there are other great actors on the show. BUT...

He had such charisma and believability as Palmer.

R.I.P. Mr. Mitchell. I miss You!

  • We miss you, James. You and Palmer will always live on in the hearts of those whom you touched.

  • It's truly sad that he never won an Emmy--despite SEVEN nominations. The TV Academy should have given him an honorary award, at the very least. It's just sad that the writers stopped writing stories for him for the past decade or so before he passed away.

  • Thank you for this! He will be missed.

Great ending to the video. I've watched AMC since the beginning and always loved James Mitchell as Palmer. Thank you for sharing this with us.

  • This is incredibly touching and lovingly put together. Thank you for doing this. It's a keeper! Let's hope AMC can put together something half as memorable!

  • so did palmer and opal ever reunite? i liked jimmy mitchell, but couldn't stand palmer for the most part

  • Excellent Tribute

  • Wonderful tribute! Thank you for posting. I really loved the ending. They are both resting peacefully above now.

  • man...Palmer and Monique...Palmer and Daisy...and the original Opal... and of course with Nina... sooo many memories! such class and great acting... not many left on AMC... I will miss you James! never saw Palmer sans suit!!! thank you for the tribute!

  • Miss ya Palmer and James.

  • wow this is heart breaking ive been watching since jenny and greg and when erica was a model bak in the day this is my favorite soap ever we will miss you palmer...

  • Awesome!

  • That was great!!! Thank you!!

  • thank you for this wonderful video...he will be missed!! I've grown up watching AMC and my 12year old watches it now.

  • I started watching AMC with my Dad in 1982 when I was ten. And as much as I latched on to the young star-crossed lovers like Greg, Jenny, Jesse, Angie, Tad, Liza, etc. it was the older couples like Palmer and Daisy (and Phoebe and Langly) who were the most fun and the most endearing to me.

  • This is really a great tribute to a great man, I always loved how palmer was protecting Erica, I always though he'll walk down the hall in LA when reunited with Jack. I loved the love between Palmer and Opal. Palmer you really going to missed, said hello to Mona, Phoebe, Mirtle. Great ended of the clip.

  • What a great tribute to a great actor... Rest In Peace, Mr. Mitchell. After entertaining us all for so many years, you deserve it. You will be missed.
