Daniel did pretty good. Emma was okay. Rupert was great I love the scene when he's under the love potion! Tom was AMAZING! He's whole performance made me feel so bad for Draco. I cried during the bathroom scene, he was so good in it and the tower was amazing too. Bonnie, let's hope she's better in DH. Alan is the best Snape there could ever be. He is so amazing.
I actually had a few issues with Michael Gambon in this film. I know everyone loved him in HBP but, particularly in the beginning, he just sounded like he was reading the script or something. But maybe that was just because of how it was written. It came across as Dumbledore trying to fit as many book lines (verbatim) as possible. I don't know, maybe I'm alone...
And also, the stupid Burrow "battle" seemed to take the place of the final fight, which is really disappointing. :(
And oh! The first scene, where Dumbledore's taking his arm around Harry.. Omg, I got tears in my eyes. That was so moving. Dumbledore was Harry's protector, guide, friend.. When the film ended, I had to watch that scene again.
It was good, but there are a few mistakes. The thing Dumbledore drinks from is supposed to be a.. Christal glass? In the film it's a weird thingie. Narcissa's hair is wrong! And I was waiting for the funeral but it didn't come. Wtf? I think it's wrong not to give Dumbledore the respect, and not give him a fucking funeral. That made me a bit mad.
And I agree with you on Ginny. She's acting really bad in this movie. There's something wrong with her facial expression. Or lack of..
The apparating was WRONG! It's supposed to be like the twins from last movie; The inferi did look like Gollum, Felton was AMAZING in that scene in the tower, The battle that was supposed to be going on was crap, Hagrid's Hut was done kinda odd, Dumbledore's body was touching, but there was NO FUNERAL! I cried, sure, but the FUNERAL WAS KEY!!!
I was the only person who screamed in the movies when the hand grabbed harry i saw it 3 times and i screamed every time. I love Bonnie Wright but there could have been some more emotion there in those big scenes with Harry. I never cry in movies but i did when dumbledore died
Not gonna lie, I started bawling when Dumbledore had to drink. It was JUST like I pictured it in the book, and I cried when I read the book. I cried when Dumbledore died as well.
Okay i have not read the book.I only just started it.But luvd the movie. i had only two problems with it 1.Ginny. She looked more like she was playing with harry! 2.The battle with harry and snape! I mean he's angry and all he does is fall to the ground and stay there? I was like, come on harry get up and do something!! I truthfully think i need to watch it again though because i didnt much like OoTP the first time i watched it either. But now i luv it lots! I agree the beginning was amazing!
Bellatrix is my fav. character from HP. she seems like such a happy person to me. like if you really think about it, she's just so happy being evil! plus shes funny. :)
I agree with everything you said. One thing I realized as I was reading the 7th book today was in the previous books you don't really mind Bellatrix, I mean she's a death eater and all so you're not going to LOVE her and everything. But in the 7th book I really started to HATE her. She's different. Not Helena but Bellatrix herself, If you've read the 7th book I think you know what I mean..

i want to know how theyre going to put everything they messed up back the way it was!!!! they should have us(the readers of the books) give the directors some sort of help!!!! because when you make movies like this you have to think long term. if we blow up the burrow where is the wedding going to be?! the actors were perfect(especially tom felton because you actually felt sorry for draco, you knew where he was coming from) but the directors and writers need help. bad.
when bella was all "I killed Serious black" i was clutching the arms of the seat so i wouldn't go punch the screen... I luv serious. Bella's amazing though... and greyback... I was expecting aless muscular guy, but he still gets an A from me.
i agree with everything you guys said except for the BonnieWright part because I think she was pretty good. She was just given bad lines, I mean- "close your eyes", and "shoelace..." I mean, wtf?
I went to se eit in the iMax and the rock scene what would of looked good in the movie wasnt in 3-D as the only part that was in 3-D was the first 10 minutes!!!

I need to tell my best friend about you. Snape is practically her hero! :)
Though actually, i think that this was, after the first movie, my favorite one so far. And i don't know, I like Bonnie Wright for Ginny for the most part. And Luna was perfect, she always has been.
Well the thing is it would look akward in a movie if Harry is just frozen. It works in books but not movies. But they made the bit when he bumps into the stuff to show he's petrified by the situation.
I hate how they still haven't brought Bill or Charlie into it yet, and I didnt like the attack on the weasley house, and the setup for the seventh films was horrible becase they didnt play into the mystery of the ring ore anthing!
I actually quite liked Bonnie Write, and I like Tom felton, But of course my gratitude and obsessive teen girl screams are for Alan Rickman, who again, no surprise, was hauntingly great. I enjoyed the forshadowing with how you know he's thinking about Lily.
i loved this film, but did you like the ending? especially with the crappy line of "I never realized how beautiful this place is." wtf?! how can that be the end line? that was stupid.
"David Yates: I'm sorry for threatening you with a cactus." dude, when did you threaten him with a cactus??? I thought Bellatrix was AMAZING. Especially when she went crazy and kicked the plates and cups on the Gryffindor table. Oh, and don't feel bad. i had to see it with my mom and she freaked out and dumped a large popcorn all over me(during that inferi-hand scene part)
I agree with the inferi and how the one that actually dragged Harry down looked like how I imagined (I also agree with Bella on who it was, I was thinking that when I saw it) also how they focused on the lovey dovey parts and how they missed out the battle, but I liked the other things as well so yeah all in all I really liked it. =D
i expected the ending to be waaaaay longer tbh, but the setting was spot on.
my friend screamed at that scene n___n
i generally thought that the film's ending was lazy, like they had saved themselves time by not making a huge battle or effort and what not... WTF WAS WITH THE FIRE @ THE BURROW?! -_- that annoys the hell out of me. and no funeral? remus+tonks, fleur+bill, etc...
bonnie wright cannot acttttttt :3 watson was really good in this film, makes a nice difference :D felton was amazing!
yes i am cold mean person! i killed sirius black XDDD he deserved it went all goody goody..haha no just kidding it was a good film madam pmfrey :( cried my heart out great film
i went with my friends to see it first day, and i was desperately trying not to cry! but i didn't manage it, they saw me wipe my face repeatedly, and dan crying....wow that really set me off. i acually jumped out of my seat when the dead things' hand popped out and i gasped when draco showed dumbldore the dark mark... SNAPE WAS BRILLIANT!! just thought id put that out there.. and I WANT TO SEE BILL AND CHARLIE. Still <3 it.
I was kind of dissappointed with the couples of Remus/Tonks and bill/Fleur. The second wasn't even in there, and i thought "how are they gonna put a wedding in the next movie?" plus the whole face maul with bill. And remus and tonks were suddenly together ? I mean really ??
Other than that i thought it was pretty brilliant, aside from a couple other small things you guys have already mentioned.
I have one of the little wands that are plastic and look like the characters' that light up. I got it at a book release for HP but when everyone was lifting up their wands for dumbledore in the movie I was just SO tempted to do it, but I was crying too much xDDD
i looved snape, he was so full of emotion! but bellatrix was oh my goddd.. IIII KILLED SIRIUS BLACK! like im sure all of us were like ahgusdfhgsdhfgkjhdsf we just wanted her DEAD but seh's cool, i love her
i think draco was really goood , much better than usual. so was emma and so was rupert! daniel was amazing too! i loved the cast! bonnie wright looked kindda awkward though
ok holy crap the film was just released in romania so of course i just saw it and i think it's absolutely brilliant. i shall praise it more but i will go watch it again on the computer.
but will it be in 3d as well? or what's with this rumor i've heard?
don't feel bad! i was the only one in the whole cinema to scream too. i was there with three friends and so many people shushed them because they just kept laughing at me..i mean i REALLY screamed lol
Some people started laughing when dumbledore was falling... I mean it did look a little cheesy, but to laugh! >:(
And about the death eaters marching out, well they could march out because no one was there to stop them! there was supposed to be a battle going on below! and what about Bill now? is he just hunky-dory now? what about him and Fleur? are they still getting married?
grr.
and I really wanted to see the funeral, with Fawkes and Grawp. *sigh*
when i knew the scene was coming with the inferi i was dubbled over in my seat covering my ears and shaking waiting for it and i my best friend was trying to hide in my back and my mom was antcipating it as much as i was but she wasnt expecting to jump she flew out of her seat i actually really liked this one but im a huge harry ang ginyy shipper and that was an epic fail also after ginny fed harry i would have laughed even more if ron tried to lol *weird sense of humor*
I thought Bonnie needs to be more.... joking and enthusiastic in the films because Ginny really isn't as serious as Bonnie played her. I mean, to me, while I was reading the books I sort of got the impression that she was, like a female fred and George but just a bit more serious.... and HARRY was suposed to start 'snogging' her!!
You guys should be the directors for the movie. ): sigh.
I don't really think the movie was that good. Dumbledores death was supposed to be more "sadder"? The cave scene was the only best and memorable scene in the movie. (: i agee with you on Narcissa, she's nothing like i imagined her to be.
As a huge harry potter fan, i didn't quite like the movie, yet i love it. It's sort of like a mixed feeling. You get me? (:
You're completely right when the death eaters walked out it was just like there was no one there who had even noticed them! Like they ruled the school all of the sudden there wasn't even a struggle!
I watched it with my friend and when the thing came out of the l,ake we both jumped. Then we laughed at each other and so was the whole theatre. It was so funny.
The lifting of the wands after Dumbledor had died was soooooooo twee!! Unbelievably cheesy. My boyfriend and I just looked at each other and cracked up! Not good. Didn't believe Harry was all that distraught either.
The moment with Hermione and Harry was really touching. Wish it had gone on for longer.
I agree that it should've ended on a sad note...
I only cried in this film cuz of that same connection and knowing what is going to happen. If I hadn't have read the books I wouldn't have...
omg, how can you think it was cheesy?! the wand tribute where they all got rid of the dark mark was incredible.. it totally captured the emotion of dumbledore's death that was in the book and she showed everyone being sad, and i loved it. david yated honestly couldnt have done any better.
yeah, i thought the wands tribute thing was pretty awesome too, a bunch of people thought it was cheesy but i think it worked as sort of a replacement for his funeral, because if they had that in too it might have been a bit repetitive... the funeral might be an interesting start to DH though. and ginny's strange, awkward shoelace tying scene was... awkward.
actually i thought the inferi looked like loads of kreachers... strange. and i agree, i thought tom felton and alan rickman were both BRILLIANT in this film, especially towards the end... and although the bit at the end with snape was different, i really liked the part where he told harry to be quiet... AHH. <3
Dumbledore's death sort of reminded me of Gollum's death from Lord of the Rings -- how he fell backwards in slow motion? But it was really really well done. I have to say that the best part of the movie was Draco. I'm not a big Draco fan, but Tom's acting was fucking amazing.
I have to say I LIKED Ginny in this one, I thought she did well. And Im sad she pretty much wont be in the next one.
Loads of people thought the raising of the wands thing was cheesy but I liked that it had a purpose as well as a symbolism thing.
I actually LOVED Emma, I really felt for Hermione and I think she did excelent, and Dan was great and Rupert oh my god. I pretty much adored this film.
maybe a little sniffing on Harry's shoulder. The end....could've been better. Dumbledore has just died and you're still busy talking about hormones, Hermione?!
See? Nearly all the Weasleys rocked! xD And it's a good job David didn't get a cactus thrown at him! The bits that got me were Ron choking and I was like 'OMG!!! RONNIE!' and then Harry...he was going to so slow! WHERE WAS THE PANIC?! ughhh...narcissa = fail.
If it helps, Mum screamed when the Inferi came out! xD Dumbledore wanting to stop amazing! falling = loved! The cast crying!!! I saw Luna cry, Neville cry, Seamus cry, everyone was so tearful! WHY WAS GINNY NOT MORE UPSET? -c-
Jeez, I wish I could've gotten absorbed into the movie. But I ended up going with the two worst people you could possibly go with: My Mum and Sister. Then entire time during the cave scene Mum was like "Oh why can't they use magic? Magic! Why aren't they just using magic?" And it was like "D8 SHUT UP." And then the moment Harry turned to scoop water, Mum was like "boo." I turned to give her a face, AND THEN THE INFERI ATTACKED, so I didn't see it. Worst part: She yawned when Dumbledore died.
Yeah, but sometimes I yawn during death scenes because I don't want the people around me in the theater to know that I'm really upset and about to cry. D:
haha. i started crying when dumbledore died, but i really sobbed when everyone else was surrounding dumbledore and harry was crying. and i agree...luna was the hardest to see cry. i was so audible that people 2 rows behind me were laughing at me. :P
haha.. one more time girls... GREAT REVIEW...you could easily be, Ally the Screenwriter and Lili the Director.. hahaha (y) or viceversa...
and here in Mexico everybody (well except my sister and me... cause we already know it was coming!!! :D :D :D) at the cinema screamed when the Gollum..(hehe I mean Inferi) grabbed Harry's hand...
i'm still wondering (as Lili) said.. how would the Weasleys have the wedding now that the Burrow has been blown up?? greetings girls. my sister & I love you both!
I liked Bonnie Wright - I actually preferred her Ginny to the one in the books, who was not as enterprising and confident as Bonnie's Ginny, but slighly annoying with her yelling and teenage rebellion. And I thought she was a good actress, she felt more realistic as a character than a few other girls in the film.
i find it random how much yall dislike bonnie, i mean i don't particularly like her but there are people that bother me a lot more. i have no idea what was going on with narcissa's hair. sadly i didn't cry when dumbledore died because i had the same problem yall thought you would have, i didn't have a strong emotional connection with Michael gambon's dumbledore because he had a completely different personality in the movie. that was so weird when he asked harry about hermione in his office too
I have a really strong feeling they going to add it in the beginning of the next film, like they had that thing at the ministry in the beginning of this film. Well I hope so :(
i agree with you, i thought that tom felton was amazing and you could really feel what draco was going through, rupert was really funny, and i dont see why everyones dissing bonnie, her charcter in the books isant emotinal and if she was emotinal with dan in the scenes, then that just wouldnt be what ginny would have done. BUT WHERE WAS DOBBY!!!!!!!!!
They did look like gollems! and I think Bonnie is better in the background, than as a main character.. the end was really different from the book as well.. it was good, but could have been more i think..
Tom Felton was amazing!! Really good actor, so were Rupert and Emma.. :D
I ppersonally give the movie an 8 (maybe an 8.5) out of 10. I think that in the first few parts of the movie that the scenes didn't really flow at all, and it all seemed random. Not rushed, really, just random. When I heard that **SPOILER** Harry wasn't at all paralyzed, I was angry because obviously he would've helped DD, but when Snape came in and put a finger to his lips...I tightened my grip on my arm restt he Avada Kedavra wasn't *quite* as dramatic as I thought it would be, but well done.

Oh, and don't feel bad. i had to see it with my mom and she freaked out and dumped a large popcorn all over me(during that inferi-hand scene part)
SisterStrawberryWar 2 years ago

I didn't think Helen was THAT bad. Sure, her hair was bleurgh, but idk, I liked her and I felt bad for calling her a skunk. Lol =P
I also LOVED the fire scene too. I clutch my heart every time I see it because the music is so amazing and the effects are too. Ughh, so beautiful!

i went with my friends to see it first day, and i was desperately trying not to cry! but i didn't manage it, they saw me wipe my face repeatedly, and dan crying....wow that really set me off. i acually jumped out of my seat when the dead things' hand popped out and i gasped when draco showed dumbldore the dark mark... SNAPE WAS BRILLIANT!! just thought id put that out there.. and I WANT TO SEE BILL AND CHARLIE. Still <3 it.
HflowerP 2 years ago
I was kind of dissappointed with the couples of Remus/Tonks and bill/Fleur. The second wasn't even in there, and i thought "how are they gonna put a wedding in the next movie?" plus the whole face maul with bill. And remus and tonks were suddenly together ? I mean really ??
Other than that i thought it was pretty brilliant, aside from a couple other small things you guys have already mentioned.

*sigh*

You get me? (:

The lifting of the wands after Dumbledor had died was soooooooo twee!! Unbelievably cheesy. My boyfriend and I just looked at each other and cracked up! Not good. Didn't believe Harry was all that distraught either.
The moment with Hermione and Harry was really touching. Wish it had gone on for longer.
I agree that it should've ended on a sad note...
I only cried in this film cuz of that same connection and knowing what is going to happen. If I hadn't have read the books I wouldn't have...

when dumbledore was died,i was practicly in this guy's lap.lol kinda sad
4everpureblood 2 years ago
yeah, i thought the wands tribute thing was pretty awesome too, a bunch of people thought it was cheesy but i think it worked as sort of a replacement for his funeral, because if they had that in too it might have been a bit repetitive... the funeral might be an interesting start to DH though. and ginny's strange, awkward shoelace tying scene was... awkward.
madteacups 2 years ago 2
actually i thought the inferi looked like loads of kreachers... strange. and i agree, i thought tom felton and alan rickman were both BRILLIANT in this film, especially towards the end... and although the bit at the end with snape was different, i really liked the part where he told harry to be quiet... AHH. <3
madteacups 2 years ago
i was very unpleased with the ending.. after dumbledore dies, i needed more, like the funeral and something to close the movie...
VictoriaER 2 years ago
Dumbledore's death sort of reminded me of Gollum's death from Lord of the Rings -- how he fell backwards in slow motion? But it was really really well done. I have to say that the best part of the movie was Draco. I'm not a big Draco fan, but Tom's acting was fucking amazing.

Loads of people thought the raising of the wands thing was cheesy but I liked that it had a purpose as well as a symbolism thing.

maybe a little sniffing on Harry's shoulder. The end....could've been better. Dumbledore has just died and you're still busy talking about hormones, Hermione?!
weasleyheart 2 years ago
weasleyheart 2 years ago
Jeez, I wish I could've gotten absorbed into the movie. But I ended up going with the two worst people you could possibly go with: My Mum and Sister. Then entire time during the cave scene Mum was like "Oh why can't they use magic? Magic! Why aren't they just using magic?" And it was like "D8 SHUT UP." And then the moment Harry turned to scoop water, Mum was like "boo." I turned to give her a face, AND THEN THE INFERI ATTACKED, so I didn't see it. Worst part: She yawned when Dumbledore died.
Marinadellrae 2 years ago
Yeah, but sometimes I yawn during death scenes because I don't want the people around me in the theater to know that I'm really upset and about to cry. D:

I liked Bonnie Wright - I actually preferred her Ginny to the one in the books, who was not as enterprising and confident as Bonnie's Ginny, but slighly annoying with her yelling and teenage rebellion. And I thought she was a good actress, she felt more realistic as a character than a few other girls in the film.

i find it random how much yall dislike bonnie, i mean i don't particularly like her but there are people that bother me a lot more. i have no idea what was going on with narcissa's hair. sadly i didn't cry when dumbledore died because i had the same problem yall thought you would have, i didn't have a strong emotional connection with Michael gambon's dumbledore because he had a completely different personality in the movie. that was so weird when he asked harry about hermione in his office too

dutchirishgirl 2 years ago
I ppersonally give the movie an 8 (maybe an 8.5) out of 10. I think that in the first few parts of the movie that the scenes didn't really flow at all, and it all seemed random. Not rushed, really, just random. When I heard that **SPOILER** Harry wasn't at all paralyzed, I was angry because obviously he would've helped DD, but when Snape came in and put a finger to his lips...I tightened my grip on my arm restt he Avada Kedavra wasn't *quite* as dramatic as I thought it would be, but well done.
fliiballa09 2 years ago
I thought Tom Felton was THE BEST. He played Draco soooo well, the scene where he cried in the bathroom was extremely well done.
When Dumbledore was killed I did not cry and I ALWAYS cry at sad films.
I found it a bit disjointed in places, but otherwise it was ok. But only ok.
I give it 4 stars.
Funny, Adventurous, and Really Stupid, But in a Good Way =)
I pretty much agree with you guys :)
LunaLovegoodx99 2 years ago
OMG!! I thought the Inferi looked like Gollum as well! They just didn't scare me as much as they did when I read the book.
