  • if i was green i would die XD

  • Sooo old

  • @Prettygirlskits but so good

  • OMFG Justin timberlake had a Afro thingy

  • da ba dee da ba die

  • best year ever !! :))

  • america was so late on im blue, and it peaked at 6. almost everywhere else was number one.

  • idk why but i like watching this

  • omg these R&B songs make me go awww instead of ewwww

  • i think video 29 is what killed music >__<

  • omg MY CHILDHOOD T___T

  • Why isnt britney or eminem on this? Oh well waaay better music

  • R&B and POP was really bad in the 2000.

  • damn 12 years ago...it still only seems like 5 years ago to me tbh

  • #1 Breathe (chart performance): 81-68-62-51-42-35-28-28-26-43-30-23-23-21-21-21-5-3-3-4-4-3-3-3-2-2-3-3-2-2-3-4-2-5-8-11-13-14-18-22-23-22-24-30-31-31-38-39-42-49-49-48-47

    that's why it's #1 while peak 2~~

  • @vc6yi8cu yeah, but at the same time, "Breath" has to be the most obscure song to ever end up being the #1 song in America in 2000. i mean, no one i know has ever heard that song, i never heard it get played on the radio in neither 1999 or 2000, and i was hooked on the radio at the time, especially in 2000, and it doesn't appear among any lists of "Best Songs Of The 90's or 00's" at all. is just recently that i heard it on Sirius' "Pop2K" (2000's hit station, and the only one) channel.

  • was less porn & more great music (:

  • BEST TOP 50 SO FAR!!!!!!!!

  • 2000 had awesome awesome songs

  • COOL! nice one on this

    99,87,57,55,51

  • Brings back memories! :')

  • OMG, this is perfect!!! So many emotions, memories..!!! Can You make one for each year? (mean 2001, 2002 so on..)

  • @OlinkaIsNasty yes! please do, that would be great.

  • I miss these songs!

  • Wow, I think Smooth got the 'We Found Love' curse - if its chart run wasn't cut off at Year-End, it could easily be #1 and not Breathe.

  • @PenaltyKillah

"Smooth" was mainly a 1999 hit (being at #1 from October 1999 to January 2000), so that might be why it wasn't #1 on the year-end chart.

  • Shitty songs. Don't even compare to the 2011 stupid people can say that is getting worse each year

  • ALL THE SMALL THINGS *_________________*!

  • wooow. brought a lot of old memories back to me.

  • Wonderful job, but we need more oldies please. I get a real kick of old billboard charts. Who gets it either, plus me.

  • Thumbs up... If nostalgia just kicked you in the balls.

  • Comment removed

  • @GetDownerz5 lmao

  • Christina Aguilera ! thes best in this chart!! :D

  • this is 2000`s??¿?¿ this is 90`s!

  • i turn to you! <3 Xtina Rules

  • I GUESS WE CAN ALL AGREE, THIS HERE IS "BILLBOARD.. GODDESS'" TOP 50 OF the 2000's!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WTF NEVER SAW HALF THESE justsaying but they sound like they could be popular then some im like c'mon, personal preference much?

  • @Alexzanzininja Are you an idiot or what? You can go check it out yourself on Billboard website.

  • @megaboy088 shut you shithole i acknowledged it was a real list

  • @Alexzanzininja Wow, your dumb and have poor grammar skills. If you didn't bitch about the chart in the first place, we wouldn't be having this problem. DUR! -___-

  • @megaboy088 HA, you're still talking for no reason at all. voice your opinion of the list or shut your crap tunnel.

You have the comprehension level of a 2nd grader...it's not bitching. Faggot, all i said was it's not a list I thought was real because it reminded me of none of the popular music I remember being popular back then- BUUUT then again I wasn't paying attention to music charts when I was 9 years old so i didn't doubt the list at all in my comment. -Shut your mouth to me already.

  • @Alexzanzininja And I quote "Shut your crap tunnel.." Yes I definitely believe my grammar surpasses yours, oh and don't forget about "Shut you shithole" and "Shut your mouth to me already" Where are you from? That absolutely makes no sense. My 4 year old brother speaks better English than you lol.

  • Only a fucking grownup retard( @megaboy088 ) starts a comment out with "And I quote".. everyone knows you don't start sentences with "and" or "because", you learn stuff like this in the SECOND GRADE kiddo. I quite like how we keep using age as an insult yet your name is Megaboy. Lol freaking nerd.. shut your sphincter already

  • @Alexzanzininja You do realize the name was created 3-4 years ago. Don't try to insult my name because atleast mines makes sense while yours is just a bunch of random shit put together. I like the fact how you have no comeback after I shut you up with your own posts. Heh, I'd rather be a nerd anyday then look like a complete retard such as yourself. Are you done? Because this really is going nowhere seeing the lack or maturity you have.

  • Comment removed

  • REALLY...............THIS IS YOUR TOP 50 LIST.............YOU MUST BE KIDDING OR YOU REALLY HAVE A BAD TASTE IN MUSIC!!!

  • @fosterXross Um...This is how Billboard ranks these songs, based on sales/radio plays...it's not her own opinion.

P.S. It looks like your Caps Lock is stuck on. Best look into that.

  • @fosterXross wow, are you stupid. first off, is not according to opinion, is according to the Billboard charts back in 2000. and second, you're probably the one that has bad taste, you probably like that crappy, generic, auto tune junk. just take your business somewhere else, you immature brat, and your caps isn't gonna intimidate anybody, stupid.

  • i've heard half of these songs 100 times, the other half i don't think i ever heard before

  • Also, all of the music in this video sucks. The 90s were ridiculously better.

  • @FuckingStanz

90s fag detected..wait, most of these songs were made between 1997 and 1999 :/

  • @TheSphereHunter LOL @ YOUR SHIT TASTE: "Lady Gaga, Kesha, Britney Spears, Kelly clarkson, Avril Lavigne"

If you're not a teenage girl then there's no acceptable reason to listen to that disposable garbage. I like how you're against marijuana too even though those shitty karoake singers in your profile all use marijuana, not to mention stronger drugs. Better go back to Christian music, faggot.

  • @FuckingStanz

lol da fuck, you creeping on my profile. I guess i'm flattered you took the time to know me. Back on subject, 90S FAG. Btw, backstreet boys suck cock and are called the "backstreet" boys for a reason.

  • @TheSphereHunter How about ALL boy bands and ALL pop diva retards suck? They don't write their music, they don't "really" sing, and they have to whore their appearance for attention. They only gain admiration from 12 year old girls who have universally the worst taste in everything. I'm talking about REAL music, you little kid. The shit you listen to is like the Fisher Price of music.

The 90s had real musical revolutions and you missed it. Enjoy your kid bop music.

  • @FuckingStanz

Lol Yeah! Aqua, Spicegirls, Destiny's Child , Bsb, Wilson Phillips and Ricky Martin. Such magical music. You obviously can't tell that i'm not serious when my profile says i like that shit btw. tsk tsk And like i said, half of the songs on this list were recorded and some released in the 90s and most of it sounds good. Either YOU have no taste if you think all of these songs from 2000 suck or anti-mainstream(hipster :))

  • @TheSphereHunter If hipster means a wide knowledge of real acclaimed music of a diverse array of genres and sub-genres, and not what bubble gum fluff Viacom spoonfeeds teenage girls, then yes, I am.

I listen to good music, you listen to what the radio sells little girls. Good luck with that.

  • that eiffel 65 song is still just as flamingly annoying as it was back then

  • hmmmmm some good old bands and good old songs gr8 to get a glimpse of them after so long

  • Look at this music, now compare it to today's music...

See how music has gotten has been destroyed....

    :/

  • @GetDownerz5

Bullshit asshole back in that days in was porn music in the background, with a pathetic female singer whispering into i microphone.

And the music video was basically pornography. And male singers were always bands or awful rappers.

Fuck the 2000's worst year ever, 1980's was kind, 60's was sweet, and todays music isn't so bad, I mean cee lo green and maroon 5 is pretty cool

  • @ccaian1

music back then actually had lyrical meaning and great chord progressions. Today's music is mostly made up of musicians that brag about their money and their fame... all in one horrible song. Sucky rappers? compare Eminem with the rappers today. His music actually meant something. His music wasnt about getting bitches, or about Asses (Big Sean -_-). while I agree there is still hope for music (Maroon 5, Coldplay, The Fray...) I believe the late 90s and early 00's had various tastes.

  • @GetDownerz5

lol please don't use people like big sean and drake to represent today's music. We have some great artists like draughty, cee lo green, maroon 5 or black keys. And all those rappers aren't even popular, katy perry and bruno mars DOMINATED the charts. Lyrical meaning isn't everything, neither is the singer in some cases. Skrillex makes some great dubstep. Also, eminiem sucks as a "rapper" today. He basically making shitty pop songs that have gay meaning. I miss his old self.

  • @GetDownerz5

Sorry I didn't mean the 80's was kind, kind of the opposite.

  • As soon as I saw number 3 I was writing about how it should have been Smooth instead and then I heard number 2....

  • It's crazy how much music has changed

  • The best thing about these times were that there wasn't anybody singing about a certain day of the week. <.<

  • will you be doing a top100 eventually?

  • no Jessica Simpson or Samantha Mumba?

  • HOW OLD IS ENRIQUE IGLESIAS??

  • Wow...I was in 3rd grade in 2000, and now I'm in my second year of college! Where has the time gone? :D

  • i love santana ;) smoooooth ^^

  • love this! brings back so many memories:)

  • I miss those boy and girl bands!

  • AALIYAHHHHH <3 this rules, thank you~

  • Is this really 2000s?

  • @jasonchan778 No it is just the Year 2000.

  • Comment removed

  • Btw @billboardgoddes you should podcast release the videos as podcasts :-)

  • The greatest about Billboard in 2000 (+-) is the variety of the music...

  • Damn, there was real music ..

  • @raddymusic was ):

  • man classic love song are the best <3 <3

  • i'm 15 but i rmb all those wonderfulo amazing songs! n'sync , backstreet boys , christina ,celine dion ,98 degrees and le ann rimes <3

  • i knew i loved you <3

  • Wow. Enrique Iglesias used to just want to be with me. Now he just abruptly wants to fuck me tonight.

  • Wow, there wasn't even any rock songs in hot 100 in 2011 was there?

  • @TheSphereHunter the 2010's started not with a riff, but with a pop.

  • today's music video, it's cheap, it's because half of it are computer special effects.. In year 2000, all computer are not that powerful to imitate reality compared today.... And i think, in every 5 years, technology get's more powerful and powerful..

  • I don't remember all this songs.. I only remember like 10 of them..

  • wait songs that only went to 11 were in the top 50 and NOT EMINEM!

  • Fascinating how some artists are the same (Pink, Celine Dion) whilst some are completely different (Justin Timberlake, Christina Aguilera). :)

  • So where was Bon Jovi with "It's My Life" ? That was a massive song right?

  • Wow, I expected "Oops!... I Did It Again" to be #1, but it didn't even make the Top 50? Strange how things work out. Faith Hill is at the top of the chart and the song didn't even chart in my country (Netherlands), while Britney had a massive hit there and landed at number #18 (although that's still kinda low I suppose)

  • @Djrobinv

Oops I Did It Again wasnt released as a CD single, it affected its peak in the Hot 100. Same with Jessica Simpson's "I Think i'm In Love"

  • Memmmoooriieeessss

  • I miss seeing rock music in the #1... nowadays it's all about club songs

  • Country grammar :B

  • backstreet boys, mmm

  • damn... 50 and 49 are good memories..

  • Thank God I Found You <3

  • Da Ba Dee^^

  • The most of this top sucks hard!! and the top 10... no comment

  • 洋楽大好き♪(o・ω・)ノ))

  • Mistletoe !!!!

  • the real slim shady #51 @@

  • I smiled through out the whole video. Memories! -3

  • Serious? J-Lo, Britney Spears and Eminem didn't make it into the top 50??

  • Bye Bye Bye!

  • Oh man, I forgot how amazing a list like this was back in the 2000s. So much variety everywhere instead of now where autotuned shit plagues it. And #1 being a country song? I doubt that'll ever happen again sadly even though great music is still being generated by that genre.

  • music was so much better in 2000

  • #40 -3

  • Hell yeah! to #31!

  • BBMAK !

  • 36 15 11... we need more songs like this on the billboard now-a-days...

  • Where's "Oops I did it again" & "The real slim shady" those songs were HUGE hits.

  • @RomanticElizabeth u obviously didnt see the whole vid. just watch it again but go to 13:50 and those songs r there. or was tht a joke?

  • @RomanticElizabeth "Oops! I Did It Again" was #55, and "Real Slim Shady" finished at #51, barely missing out on the top 50.

  • wow a lot of the note-worthy should have been in the top 50...especially britney's stuff I mean 2000 was her year, neways good stuff

  • Rihanna copied Whitney Houston.

  • Ah 2000s..miss you..

  • Mostly love songs -___-

  • AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

  • There's a lot of shit!

  • Christina Aguilera Had More Singles in the top50 Than Anyone in 2000! - Legendtina

  • There's no country songs here! why cant it b like that now!?

  • @asosonkin #44 is a country song?

  • @asosonkin Considering there are 2 Country songs from 50-40 shows exactly how much you know about country music.

  • @asosonkin The number one song is a country song :)

  • Brings back beautiful memories!!! I love it!

  • Christina Aguilera Slaying 2000!

  • #35!!!

  • miss all the boy bands.....only the 90s and 2000s =)

  • @anon4th Yes! Very much so!!! Back in the day when music videos were actually a very important medium because they were shown on TV! Music videos back then had huge budgets and looked amazing... now there is no innovation, creativity, and they all look cheap these days... it makes me kind of sad...

  • @BillboardGoddess i love you channel man its awesome sub to me

  • @BillboardGoddess IMO music videos are a lot more important. Everyone when they hear a song on the radio they like, they look up the video on Youtube.

  • how comes there isnt a britney spears in top 50 of 2000? her songs were legendary :O

  • nice clip & HappyNew Year Every Body

  • Kryptonite :D

  • When rock was popular...........

  • how is britney not in the top 50!?!?!?!

  • HOW WAS THE REAL SLIM SHADY NOT IN THE TOP 50????

  • this was the best, i grew up during this era of music, and i remember each of these songs. great stuff!

  • Thank YOU for all you do and look forward to 2012 with you! Happy New Years to YOU and all yours from me and all mine :-)

  • the music from 2000 was better and much more memorable than today's music. there's not one song here where i can really say there was a song i didn't like, i enjoyed them all. favorite ones were the "Thong Song", "Try Again" by Aaliyah R.I.P., "Blue", "I Wanna Know" and "Bring It All To Me". great music year, all i can say.

  • Christina Aguilera slaying in 2000 =)

  • Can you do a video for the top 50 singles of the 20th century?

  • I really didn't know Marc Anthony was really that popular back then compared to now.

  • Haha I was only a kid, but I knew over half of the songs. You dont forget great songs like these.

  • sucks that slim shady didnt get in :(

  • i found the song that i heard long tme ago!! thx very much! and Happy New Year~

  • Faith Hill's Breathe is the first Year-End #1 in 35 years to not peak at #1 but still clinch the top spot. Sorry, Taylor, but Faith is the country crossover queen.

  • @PenaltyKillah So true lol. I love Faith Hill. Would Taylor be 2nd then or Carrie or Shania?

  • thank you billboardgoddess i know how long these vids take .. especially thanks for bringing back these nice memories =)

  • To be frank, I think viewers would like the latest Top 50 video more than a flashback, but thank you BG for this video - what a great start to 2012!

And I'll have to adapt to this layout for my Bottom 50 soon... are those single or album covers btw?

  • @PenaltyKillah They are album covers, if they are available.

  • @BillboardGoddess happy new year tomorrow

  • 19! old times...

  • 49 is awesome

  • Ahhh #35 xD

  • i'm so happy to see that BOY BANDS like BBMak, Backstreet Boys (gag me!), 'N Sync, and 98°, Savage Garden are no longer around.
