Allen's knife is also fatal in MS4. What knocks you around is his robotic body.

i guess so, but when i try to knife him, he usually kills me before i can jump out of the way

I think I accidentally removed BLK0314's comment instead of replying to it. For readers, he said that this strategy is not beneficial to extra scoring because the knife also takes away 3 times as much damage as the pistol, and to use the knife only after Allen dies.
