Current AIDA world record is 10.04, if I am not mistaken.

Guiness World Record is 17 min 28 sec. But here they are allowed to breathe pure oxygen for some time before the attempt.

What you don't see here is that he was handcuffed twice on his wrists and at the feet. he wanted to make it more of a challenge in honor of Houdini who did it upside down and chained up. At the end of the seven minutes he struggled to get the feet cuffs off so he had to stop.

i feel bad for him....he worked so hard and stayed underwater for a week to complete that stunt and failed. he must have been so scared in that tank as he realized he couldnt go any longer. still, its a lot more than some people could do. i applaud you, Mr. Blaine.
