toyota's remedy was shoving a piece of metal worth less than a penny into the pedal. wow great "remedy" to a defected car. sounds like adding a little more time to a ticking time bomb.
The only remedy for this problem is to STOP BEING FUCKING STUPID, people! Geez, some drivers...some stupid drivers, some dipshits who want to $ue Toyota, and others who want to be on TV. I just don't know any more...*shakes head in hopelessness*
Funny how top NASA scientists say there's absolutely nothing to claims of any cases of unintended acceleration cause by electronics. All bogus. Report released today, 2/8/11.
anyone notice how most if not all the complaints are from people at least 50 and up? I think toyota should put cameras in some of these cars to see if this is really an issue with the vehicle or the drivers.
It is very dumb situtation because all calls have issues, not just toyota. The market is really bad and many car dealers are out of work and the media is attacking toyota why? Toyota is one of the very best cars in years.
Why this problem exhist only in the USA and not in the rest of the world if the component is the same? How many dollars is payed this man for tell all those bullshits?
they have no idea what is causing the problem! They are just trying to make it look like they are fixing it until they actually find the damn problem?
Toyota lies cover up,fraud pay offs, shame on the government ours and theirs. Fools would only support this company. Come out of the fog you can trust consumers reports like you can trust toyota for decades they have lied.
1001hob: So the Federal Gov't has been planning this since 2000? That's why they sat on the issue for 10 years?
PR: No. They sat on the issue that long because Toyota was a "good corporate citizen", paid a lot in taxes, provided jobs, and has a huge lobby in Washington.
But NOW it's convenient to throw them under the buss. The situation's changed.
@1001Hobbies It wasn't convenient to throw Toyota under the bus until obama hijacked mopar and government motors G M ,this is how business is done in Chicago just ask Rahm chief of staff. When the government owns private industry as is the case in G M and Chrysler a huge conflict of intreast is created and maintained
@captpatrickone I agree with the conflict of interest. However, the alternative would be for NHTSA to have continued to require nothing of Toyota, and let the issue continue unabated. I don't think this would be beneficial to anyone. NHTSA waited too long and didn't do enough on this issue, in my opinion, and I feel it is best that action was finally taken, bad timing in regards to GM and Chrysler or not. Like I said, the alternative is not acceptable either.
@taledarkside Look here FOOL I had one of these here Jap cars go full throttle on me.This is nothing more than Tokyo revenge. Those fish head eating Orientals are bitter we kicked there ass than nuked there volcano twice than rewrote there constitution @ Tokyo bay.. There is no honor in defeat or surrender they are pissed now its pay back time.I'm skipping the automatic cruise control I drive American products as you should as well. Now go vote Republican before Obama raises your taxes!
You people are fucken retarded. use one lame as excuse to throw import cars out... lame ass Americans are just pissed off cuz import cars are a favorite in the US. stop this madness... Lame
I hope Obama writes an executive order that only GM and Chryler vehicles can be purchased in America unless the UAW takes over the leadership roles of Toyota. I hope no one looks at the actual stats for all car companies for similar malfunctions and what the government has done in the past and is currently doing to remedy these problems.
I was being sarcastic. I realize now, that people take it seriously.
You will find that, statistically, there is no difference between issues of ALL car companies. This "problem" that the federal gov't feels the need to address, is motivated by the fact that Toyota outsells two car companies that took massive bailouts from the govt., The money went into the union retirement funds, The Unions are afraid of losing their jobs if GM and Chrylers sales don't start picking up.

GM's are being recalled for steering problems.
The truth is the number of complaints, while significant, is not pandemic. Nor are the complaints against Toyota recent - they go back to 2000.
The only reason the U.S. gov't is acting NOW, is because they're a major share holder in GM, and the U.S. domestic auto industry is in near collapse.
