  • Great song! I love the new album.

  • i think the album A Celebration of guilt is much better, but this album pretty awesome i like it though

  • that fucking bass line! 0:18-0:28

  • arsis brings a fucking badass element to the table. they do what most tech death bands fail to do: they incorporate incredible melodic lines to the table along with very complex timing signatures...people who bash this dont know what metal truely is...

  • that argument down there is probably the most boring one I've ever read

  • Where the hell was i? didn't know arsis made a new album well it came out last year but still :o this album is really good

  • I Hear the Call of Winter!!!!!

  • such a depressive yet beautiful intro

  • Any tabs for this?! =o

  • I think a lot of people are failing to realise the very clear genre distinction between WATN and SFTD - This is a melodic death metal album, its not about ridiculously techy drums - Van Dyne is a very fucking good drummer, his playing suits the music amazingly. This is coming from a long time Arsis fan ( as in, I owned the original ACOG shirt ), I just think that a lot of us are happy they got away from the wankery on WATN.

  • @HeavyArms12 of course it is, but the whole album just sounds the same. whether technical drums or not, on WATN every song sounds different in its own way. thats my opinion, maybe there are fans of arsis who are thinking that on WATN every song sounds the same.. idk .. i dont care.. listen to your "TRUE AND REAL" Metal (that is so pitiful) ..

  • @ScorpionLP When did I mention 'true and real metal?' I said this is a solid melodic death metal album. How are you even qualified to judge the merits of the musicianship on this album when you listen to such drivel in the first place? You aren't a fan of Arsis - you are a fan of WATN, a deviation from Arsis' general musical style that has now been corrected.

  • @HeavyArms12 sorry, the "true Metal" part wasnt for you... and youre right, i'm a fan of WATN, not of arsis. i dont really like their old stuff (before WATN) and thats why i dont like this album.

  • @ScorpionLP So you prefer wankery above songwriting. Cool.

  • This is my favorite song on the album

  • nobody dont like it and there are 3.700clicks!!

    perfekt!!

  • very beautiful song expression disappointment of humanity!

  • @benwcc "I have taken starvation as my one and only bride. Chosen to live life as disease personified."

The song is more or less about James' personal battle with anorexia.

  • @ScorpionLP There was no "blasting on a tom" on We Are The Nightmare. Darren Cesca used four different snares during recording.

We Are The Nightmare is a great album and as much as I enjoy listening to it (even after at least 50+ listens) there are a lot of WAY overdone drum parts. Michael Van Dyne is a huge part of Arsis and his style compliments the music much better in my opinion.

Boring? You have to be brain dead if you think this is boring. Arsis shits all over 99.9% of their "peers".

  • @huludicidal maybe its a snare, but in some songs it sounds like a tom and im sure that i read something about tom blasting in the album. but who cares.

i love the drumming and i dont know any "overdone drum part" on the album. in my opinion its perfect. example? .. and yes, i think the new album is boring. its always the same. the drummer seems only to know a thrash beat and a double bass beat and of course, a hammer blast.

  • @ScorpionLP The entire album is an example. Cesca himself states that his drumming is based on being able to fit as many notes in a measure as he can. I love We Are The Nightmare but a lot of the drumming takes away from the great riffs; that's my opinion. I just enjoy Van Dyne more, he's groovier and makes his drum fills count.

Great Chimera video in your Youtube favorites. You keep listening to those homos and I'll keep banging my head to "Starve For The Devil".

  • @huludicidal lol you cant even spell the name of my fav. band , you idiot. its chim-AI-ra .. ok, listen to your boring shit and i'll keep banging MY head to some really creative bands e.g. CHIMAIRA, a band which is able to write interesting and NEW stuff.. :P

  • @ScorpionLP Interesting and new stuff? You're a fucking tool, kid. You used to listen to Slipknot, I know it.

  • @huludicidal This.

Stick to your metalcore, ScorpionLP, and we'll listen to music that takes skill to both write and play.

  • @vomitmearainbow jop metalcore, thats of course why i love to listen to the old arsis album.chimaira btw isnt metalcore, its neo thrash/groove metal like machine head, devildriver etc. btw. i listen to slipknot too, i also listen to between the buried and me , tool, nile, fear factory, raunchy, whitechapel .. i love to listen to every metal music, but it must be CREATIVE! .. listen to between the buried and me's obfuscation or disease, injury, madness and you will hear CREATIVITY at its best!

  • @ScorpionLP Wait, so a kid who listens to metalcore and Robbbbb Flynnnnnnn's chugga-chugga horseshit is trying to critique metal? This is rich. Go listen to some Carcass and At the Gates, then maybe you'll understand what good melodic death sounds like.

  • @eyeamlegend5 yes i do listen to metalcore, parkway drive for example is a great band. By the way, Chimaira is Groove Metal or Neo Thrash, like Machine Head and Devildriver. No Metalcore at all. But i also listen to Progressive Metalbands like Tool or Between The Buried and Me, which, by the way, are killing EVERY Melodic Death Metal Band with their instruments. i also listen to alternative rock, death metal (nile, hate eternal). so, who is now the "true" metal guy?! .. you are just ignorant..

  • @ScorpionLP Boy, I listen to everything from Mozart to John Coltrane to J-Pop, so don't even try to pin the closed-minded label on me. I do like Between the Buried and Me, although I find them overrated. There is more to composing a good song than just being able to play technically, and there are tons of metal bands with better songwriting skills out there than Between the Buried and Me. Oh, and Nile and Hate Eternal are pretty mainstream when it comes to death metal, try to dig a bit deeper.

  • @eyeamlegend5 >implying any death metal is mainstream

  • @NecrophecyOfficial I never said that I didn't like either of those bands (I fucking love Nile), I'm just saying that Nile and Hate Eternal are relatively well known metal bands that even mainstream music listeners have often heard of. Also, I love how you all assume that I'm a metal elitist just because I don't enjoy talentless, drop-tuned groovecore shit. I listen to a lot of stuff that would make an elitist metalhead vomit, believe me.

  • @eyeamlegend5 "talentless, droptuned groovecore shit" ..Ok, i tried to explain it, frinedly, but now: Why you fucking son of a bitch think, that things you dont like are talentless?! I dont fuckin care that you listens to mozart, we are talking about the new kind of metal and rock, not about classic stuff. And everyone who thinks, that the new generation of metal is talentless or mainstream, metalcore shit, whatever, is just a fucking ignorant asshole, thats all.

  • @ScorpionLP So a kid who has a 3rd grade grasp on the english language and believes Chimaira to be the pinnacle of heavy metal ingenuity has called me ignorant, twice? Can my day get better? I love your assumption that all modern metal is metalcore, btw. So Nile, Dimmu Borgir, Behemoth, and every other band that has released albums in the 21st century is now a metalcore band huh? Gosh darn, you sure have educated me.

  • @eyeamlegend5 and if you dont understand that, then your IQ is maybe in the minus section. I dont like the old metal stuff, but i dont say its talentless shit, like you. Yes, its not about playing technical, but BTBAM are not playing only technical, they are innovative. THATS why they are so high rated. And if you say songwriting is important, than listen to the Chimaira Song "SIX" and then tell me these guys are talentless.

  • @ScorpionLP I did use to like a few Chimaira songs back when I was first getting into metal, then I realize that they sounded exactly like every other bad metalcore song and that there was far better material out there. Chimaira's songs can be summed up pretty much as wannabe slayer/pantera knockoffs, except replace half of the riffs with breakdowns and add in constipated "tuff guy" vocals. I've said already that I like BTBAM (I own one of their albums), but that I think they're overrated.

  • @eyeamlegend5 you are still an ignorant asshole.. i dont care anymore.. save the world, kill yourself. bye..

  • @ScorpionLP "save the world." Now that's not a very metal attitude is it? Fuck the world, drink goat's blood, and kill babies, that's more like it.

  • @ScorpionLP Don't expect to come onto this video, diss Arsis, and praise shitty metalcore bands and expect not to get a verbal asskicking.

  • @ScorpionLP Chimaira is a metalcore band that does nothing for the scene except show how much they can suck on dimebag darrel's rotting cock, and Machine Head is the abomination than began the entire movement in the first place. Don't even compare those shitty bands to thrash metal.

  • @ScorpionLP Everything that's come out after 2002 is metalcore to elitists, you must be new to this

  • @NecrophecyOfficial people like you are the reason, that i am ashamed to listen to metal..

  • @huludicidal

and of course i like the variety of the album, because, there isnt any. ok, maybe you like it, i listen to hate eternal and everyone says that its boring blast beat shit, so some people like to listen to very fast stuff, others dont. if you like the new album, ok, i dont. by the way thats another reason i dont like the album: its way too slow ;)

  • To the Man Who Posted this, Your a Genius.

    Thank You Sir.

This is the first time I have heard this band, damn good song

    I love the guitar riffs.

Vocals remind me of Randy fro L.O.G

witch is an acuired sound so yeah he rock..

my opinion Phil Anselmo style vocals are the way to go.

Guitar stil rip though..drummer and bass are backin' it up! Fuck Yeah 2:35 LETS GO!

  • @ForTheFallen2000 james > all

  • yeah i think this shit sounds just as good as the older stuff .

    QQ more haters

  • Killer song. Very underrated album.

  • @DrunkRiffer yeah your right man

  • i saw this song live when they were at my city and it KICKED ASS! :) they played the old stuff live too and that pwned too, so either way arsis is still amazing!

  • fuckin Badass in a non-jewish way

  • Great song

  • Arsis was the first death metal band I liked. This album makes me sad. D':

  • only good song on the album

  • @svnstringmaster escape artist is dope too

  • @hardrocker90 haha ya it is but like 1000 times better. i like this album alot cuz its more riffy and less non stop shred

  • Anyone know where i can find the arsis cover of king diamonds "the lake"?

  • does anyone else think that this album sounds a lot more like skeletonwitch than their previous albums?

  • Nah man. I hear some serious fucking Mercyful Fate/Venom influence in this new album lol

  • skeletonwitch sucks

  • dont be a dumbfuck

  • @toejamm54 fuck you

  • @toejamm54 u piece of shit, u suck

  • He is very clean, although he doesnt GO OFF like the drummer from we are the nightmare, then music in this album is more thrashy and doesnt call for it as much as we are the nightmare did.

  • Much more thrash to this particular album. Finally, an album that almost meets the satisfaction to that of ACoG. Very good stuff.

  • The new album is really good, I don't see why people bash it so much, its got killer shit on it, and its Arsis, they are all very talented, and it shows in their work. So they changed a bit, every album cant be the same...

  • @TYLERBECKER94 All of the people bashing Arsis' new album are dipshits. This shit resembles true black metal more than any other band could hope to emulate.

Shit sounds like new age Bathory and Venom. lol

  • @TYLERBECKER94 People bash this album? It sounds exactly like what I expected "new" Arsis to sound like. That's a good thing. Anyone who doesn't like this album and likes the other one probably doesn't like music.

  • @TYLERBECKER94

People always bitch about a new album coming out, like cob, lots of people say it sucks because they have changed, well who cares, i think its pretty good

  • ok the new arsis kicks ass too!

  • My favorite song on the album, and one of my favorite songs ever right now. top 100 for my whole life for sure. Arsis always amazes me. I wasnt sure if I was gonna like it, bt listening to it all the way through really grew on me. Lots of good tracks, a few great.
