  • solid little pistol made by RUGER. why buy KelTec? ive seen alotta KT guns with various issues, but Rugers guns run hard and keep on tickin

  • Does anybody know the title of the music they play I like that background music

    but the gunshots are disturbing

  • Does anybody know the title of the music they play I like that background music

  • I regret buying this pos. I can't hit shit on target, everything is low and left. Kicks like a mule. And ammo is overpriced. I'm sticking with my more practical to own and shoot Springfeild XD Sc 9.

  • what is the soundtrack?

sounds like eyes on you, but not the same

  • just picked up this little beauty today. Concealed carry better pass is wisconsin or i will have so much proverbial yoke on my face.

  • I have Ruger LCR and seriously thinking about geting LCP ... I carry my guns 24/7 and used to have all kinds of 1911's and revolvers 357,44 etc..but I got rid of them because even tho they were all nice guns, I just didn't feel they are easy to carry, at least to me...I don't use holsters and I have my gun in my pocket all the time so LCP, at least it looks like from the comments on here, would be a good choice for a good carry weapon...

  • i just shot my brand new lcp with name brand ammo rem&winchester......150 rounds and no jams.... i like this bitch.

  • The one thing I'd like add to my LCP would be a little round silver,or gold medallion insert(with the firebird emblem) in the handle part of this gun. This would make the gun look awesome. There is already a countersunk hole with the firechicken embossed in the hole.A gold ,or silver emblem with double sided tape would make this gun look sharper then it already is.

  • I love this gun.I just bought mine a month ago.I was going to buy a Kel-tec 380 but holding both of them side by side,I liked the feel, and quality of the Ruger better.Ofcoarse the ruger is about $60.00 more but whats $60. when your life may depend on it. Heads up to Kel-Tec because some people couldn't afford that extra $60. and Kel-Tec is a really good alternative.Made in the USA.That's also important !

  • @demmylowther how much was the ruger 380?

  • I shoot this little gun better and more accurate than most of my fullsize guns!!!! Its like I feel more confident with it!!!!

Im good at 20 yards on a chest size target, No shit!!!! But I also have a crimson trace on mine,so that might be the key...

  • Just bought one of these today...its kinda small for my preference but im also 6'3 210 lbs so needless to say a deagle fits my hand so most guns are too small...but this gun is perfect for concealing, check your state laws before you conceal a handgun. I live in arizona and out here you can conceal a weapon without a permit. This little gun has ALOT of recoil so be careful before you give it to your wife.

  • @Calodox well said let me add if your lady has small/weak hands like mine does she may have trouble pulling the trigger as well. this gun has a very heavy and long trigger pull. it looks like its the perfect ladies carry gun but its really not unless she is a seasoned shooter. this gun is so concealable I just put it in my front pocket.. nobody has ever noticed it.

  • the music for this video is SO FUCKING BAD. it's the same tune just sped up and slowed down a bunch of times. the video COULD NOT HAVE BEEN WORSE, AND IM ASHAMED FOR THE BOTH OF US.

  • I need one at the golf range man .

  • The video showed us and told us nothing about the pistol. Totally useless.

  • How much for one

  • This little bugger could be quite saught after if the Feds decide to strip us of our right to own handguns. Well done Ruger!

  • love my 380 it doesnt like the winchester flat nose fmj load nothing does realy

  • Why doesn't Rugger make a version of this same gun but on 9mm?

  • @matador5135 it would be very hard. They would have to beef it up to handle the larger round. By the time they were done it would be about twice as heavy, and noticeably larger. And therefore, more expensive.

  • @matador5135 not the same but sr9c

  • I like this gun but I love the LCR

  • reliable huh keltec baby

  • @eviltwin47 sold my kelteck and got this gun... all and all...same thing

  • This song kicks ass!

  • I'm getting one in a few weeks but mine is laser engraved on the slide it looks sweet

  • I think the ATF told Ruger specifically to make this gun have a factory fitted barrel. If they don't, other companies would make threaded barrel's making it useful to attach silencers to this gun making it one of the best assassins guns ever made for concealment chambered in .380ACP.

  • Assasins gun? Unlikely.

The LCP has a belled barrel, which means theres not a lot of metal to support something hanging off the end of it. A threaded barrel would break under the weight of the can.

The LCP uses a locked breech. Browning-type systems do not function well with suppressors; the weight on the barrel means you have to cycle the slide manually on most models.

Lastly, a .380 suppressor would need to be so large that it would negate the benefit of a tiny concealable pistol.

  • And after market well machined barrel and REAL suppressor would Be fine for the LCP. It might need a little smithing but it would work just fine. I don't understand what You mean "Browning type systems" don't function well with suppressors. Ask all the Vietnam vets that used "thumpers" on their 1911s.

  • Almost all modern pistol suppressors use a recoil booster (Nielsen device) to allow the barrel to unlock before the full weight of the suppressor is supported laterally by barrel. This prevents the timing of the barrel from getting messed up on locked breach guns (browning type systems so to speak).

  • Why would a 380 suppressor need to be so "large"? The rounds are almost always subsonic. Look how small the nes( forget the company) suppressors for a 45ACP are. about 3 inches. My gunsmith told me a company can EASILY make an after market threaded OR preted or anykind of barrel You'd like for an LCP. It's just the demand. Glock has hundreds of aftermarket barrels that come in all configurations.Threaded being popular Here because everyone and their grandma has a BATFtax tamp for a suppressor.

  • Wanted to add, Mine has a serial number that starts with "373". and the barrel is blued, not silver like the "older" ones. So I hope they finally worked out the kinks. 1,500 and no FTFs of any kind. I'd reccomend this to ANYONE that wants a "pocket pistol" with some power. And I'm a Glockand 1911 Man too. But I find Myself carrying this a LOT. Especially when wearing just shorts. they have great pocket holster too. anything that fits the P-38T fits the LCP. I give Mine, with the 373# 5/5 stars.

  • Then I fed a few boxes of SD rounds through it to make sure the function. This thig will eat anything You feed it. Even funky rounds like "Magsafe" and "Extreme shock". I Tented Cor-bon SD rounds. I used a piece of 1/2 plywood with a watermelon behind it.( 1/2 plywood has the same resistance or strength as a human skull, and used the Mellon for brain or soft tissue effect. EVERY SD hollow point made a nice hole and EXPLODED the Mellon on the other side. It's all about shot placement.LCP is GREAT

  • Jeesh, I was reading comments to see feedback and all I see for 100+ comments is arguing and bickering. ANYWAY, I Just got a brand new LCP for My wife. She also has a Kahr 9mm. She likes this better because it's easier to carry EDC because of size. Before anyone wants to call a .380 a "weak" round. Let Me remind You it has the EXACT same balistics as a .38 special. And with Hot loads, Or High-tech loads like Cor-bon, or Hornady it's No joke. I put 1,000+ of FMJs with NOT 1 FTF.

  • .380 is equal to SOME .38 special loads, but .38 special has way more volume for powder in the case, and way more room for heavy bullets. There are .38 special oads that are much more powerful than 380. In a strong gun (say, Ruger's SP101), the .38 can approach .357 performance.

The .380 is not exactly a death ray, but it's nice for those situations where you can't carry anything bigger.

  • Yes I know this. I mean the old standard 38sp that was used for about 75 years by all LE in the country. Not talking about _p loads( Witch are nice to fire in My Ruger Security six) I know they can get to almost 357. I'm just talking about the snubbies that they carry in the 50's and 60's Detective movies. It's the same as that. Then toss in some Cor-bon +p and You HOT with the LCP. But remember 2 to the chest and one to the head is NOT Survivable even with 22 short.

  • what has more pentrating power .32 or .380?

  • Not sure for FMJs. Maybe the 32 because it so much smaller. But if it hits bone? The 380 is just a 9mm short. it's called 9mm kurts in Germany. meaning 9mm short.

  • Try Buffalo Bore .380+p fmj/fn .....LOTS of pop. 95 grains, 1150fps. They're HOT! They perform perfectly in my KelTec p3at. Ruger won't certify them in the LCP but read the blogs....they're fine in the LCP for occasional use. I ordered mine from Cablea's online....

  • pc load letter

  • great gun. in my pocket where it belongs.

  • i was thinking about picking one of these up, then realized that there is no 380 ammo anywhere

  • I hear that I cant find any my dam self

  • I love this gun. Got one in my pocket right now.

  • Good job. Taking the path of ignorance instead of voting on gun legislation....that will help.

  • Not quite sure how the President is involved with the tyranny of Massachusetts.

  • Hawaii and Illinois are far worse!!

  • You idiot, you couldnt own one in Massachusetts long before Obama came alone. There is no derogatory name for a complete DUMB ASS yet so go back into the basement, Im sure your mother will bring you your next meal soon.

  • good gun, shoots well enough. the small size takes getting used to - i have to use the mag grip extender.

  • I need two things in my life.

    1. Jesus Christ !

    2. My Glock 19c !

    Ruger pfff

  • 10 times? animals sure people are whats weak we fold from 22cal . 40cal or .380 not many people say oh thats only a .380 ill take those 6 shots and still rape you. pretty sure you pull a gun there running without firing a round

  • what song is playing?

  • 1:25 the girl shows her shooting and it looks like a good kick. Must be a girl thing no offense. The guy shown at 1:20 looks more in control. That is why 22 or 25 for woman may not be a bad thing.

  • .22 jams up alot and bot the .22 and .25 does not have much power compared to the .380

  • Actually we have a .22 and .25 cal and my mom went to the gun range with my father years ago and she actually shot his Glock 17 9mm, I wish I could find a woman who likes guns though =)

  • A gun is better than no gun when you are about to be a victim of crime. A 22 LR or magnum round is plenty strong and better than a 25. I'm not one of those caliber snobs. I was going to get a LCP but they where on back order and the .380 ammo is hard and expense, so I went 9mm. Some say a 40 is the min? May be if you're law enforcement. However there is one cool lady on youtube LIMALIFE. She has lots of videos. She is petite and has a 1911, 45 cal she conceal carries (with a baby in a sling!)

  • my wife uses a 40 cal sig in the coast guard and she is a qulified sharpshooter, soooooooo? i wouldnt want my wife to carry a fuckin 22 or a 25 thats weak shit cmon

  • Wives carry what they want & can handle. A 25? No, weak. 22 long? Not weak. A guy shot w/ a 22, ricochet off his rib, went into his head (dead).

40 cal is for hard core cal snobs. Let me ask you what's better for self defense, walking around, .380ACP on you? OR Big heavy 40 cal back at home in the safe? Lot-a-good it does there. Bigger the piece, less it's carried. I like pocket carry every day (LCP). A 9mm subcompact is ideal compromise in weight, size, pwr for winter jacket pocket carry.

  • pffffffff, i know these things!

  • Comment removed

  • cal snobs lol its a duty gun asshole, first off . secondly hows it gonna look when u have to shoot sombody ten fucking times? not real good!

    anything else?!

  • Comment removed

  • oh stfu u moron or somthin go a pair pansy

  • Fuck you pussy, I'd kick your ass kid. Stop playing with your your self and your Dad's computer troll. Mr. GOT A BE 40CAL, is, looking at a LCP video, dip shit. LOL!

  • hahhaha , good one playin at my daddy's computer whos the third grader now

not everyone on the other end of a computer is a pussy by the way:)

im sure ull come back with som more complete bs. skipping my point entirely

  • "not everyone on the other end is a pussy by the way:)"

You are. Any one that uses, ":)" is a child, at least mentally.

"my wife uses a 40 cal sig... she is a qualified sharpshooter, soooooooo?"

So? You feel manly by the gun your alleged *wife* carries? (*wife*= name you gave to your right hand)

"soooooooo" = 10 yr old girl

"i know im a gunsmith ty for ur"

The lack of punctuation, capitalization, unnecessary abbreviation tells me, mentally and educationally you're a child. LOL

  • pfffff im 24 married for 3 yrs have a daughter , my wife is xray 1 8 0 company

    uscg station port angeles, washington

u spent all thinking that up "ur" a loser hahahha

and 1 more thing i never said that a .380 or 9mm wasnt good i said a .22 is not a defensive cartrige.

jesus u are a hateful little waist arent u

  • I lived in Seattle for 15 yrs. I fly into SEATAC all the time. How about I come out to port angles so you can tell me face to face what a big man you are? I'm married 24 yrs and have 2 kids. You're a punk with an inferiority complex, and your wife is more man than you ever wil be.

Your opinion means nothing to me. Your wife's (right hand) credentials are not your own; again she's more of a man than you. You started ass hole, I'll finish it. Don't use God's name in vain, now beat it troll.

  • wow, yep u sure owned me now check your inbox.

i never said what i do or have done dont go judging me too quickly, u'd be suprised.:)

    good day proffessor jetpilot

  • yep already deleted and blocked, good day. Cheers

  • lol, childish no wonder you've made it so very far in life. kinda sad really having some guy my dads age talkin about how he'd kick my ass and so on. fuckin weasle i';d love to meet up with you. fuckin pansy

  • gmcjetpilot, your snappy comebacks are hilarious. LOL!

  • WOW! WHAT THE F? Why all the language, filth. You shouldn't have a gun hot head.

What are you talking about shooting some one 10 times? How would I look? Trust me from data most "shoot outs" last seconds and only a few rounds are fired. You're a weird angry person, that needs to take anger management. Being federally licenced to use a gun nation wide, if I could find you, I'd look into your permits if any. You say your "sharp shooter" wife carries a 40 cal? (So) Does she carry your balls to?

  • My point is if the woman is not comfortable shooting it, it will stay at home or not be affective if needed. If its heavy and hard to carry it will stay at home.

There are nice 22 LR revolvers and semi autos sub compact (Beretta). Also .32 and .380ACP. A 38 special a great size gun.

In this video it looks like a 22LR or .32 Beretta would be better for this lady. I just hate limiting things to 40 cal or nothing. They make 22, 25, 32, .380acp, 38sp for a reason.

  • i know im a gunsmith ty for ur catalogue of weapon selections though:)

  • I don't give a tinkers damn if you are the Grand Poo-bah of the NRA and Dirty Harry all in one. You are acting like an idiot or a 3rd grader.

I made a simple comment, ladies like the smaller guns because they can handle them, they are easily to cary so they can have them all the time. A 40 cal is great, I agree, about as ideal a round as you can get for a pistol.

Take it easy GUN SMITH, may be you have inhaled too much bluing fumes.

  • Where do you get one of these? I've been trying for weeks..

  • its one of the many guns that have been scarce lately (really any ruger for that matter) if you want to get one try calling around gunshops if you still have no luck try buying one on gunbroker, you'll have to pay shipping and a transfer fee but its worth it if you don't wanna wait

  • Once you go Glock you won't go back.

  • Oh, and it is very accurate at close range, seven/eight yards! Mine is not one of the first run that had to be recalled. Should be good if you have the serial number starting with 371.

  • Just got mine last week, put about a hundred rounds through it so far. No problems, love the gun. Nice to get some attention at the range since a lot of people still haven't seen it, or fired it. Glad I was able to grab one without the wait.

  • It can't be called "reliable" if you have to send it back to the company after one trip to the range. I have several problems and when I get mine back its getting traded. I can't trust it and I won't use at my back-up. I'm a major GLOCK fan and think that everything should be as reliable. So far my trigger and firing pin have broken! Not what I call reliable! I think I'll stick to my 36!

  • I agree. I had some major problems with my LCP today. It appears the slight downwards pressure caused by holding it tightly with the new finger extension floor plate was causing the magazine to eject as it fired. It's as if the jar of firing coupled with the slight downward pressure causes the magazine notch to slip past the internal release tab. I'm going back to the original magazine design, even though my accuracy is not as good with it.

  • Mine has broken twice. First it was the trigger pivot pin, they fixed it and sent it back. Then the firing pin broke. They fixed it, did the recall fix and sent it back. I still love its size, weight, and performance, even though it reliability has been crappy so far. I bought a Walther PPS 9mm as a backup for when it breaks again and is getting repaired. I thought of getting 2 of these LCPs, but I really wanted a 9mm. I got my LCP for $299.

  • Where did you get your LCP from?

  • The Marksman Pistol Institute here in Tucson. It was special order, they did not have it on display.

  • Just shot a LCP today - I don't give it high scores. The mag release button stickes out too much and is not guarded. So, every few rounds, my right thumb would make contact and drpo the mag out about 3/16". This keeps the next round from loading yet the slide closes and you get a dud pull. In a realy fight, this could cost you your life. (Kel Tec is the same issue) It was accurate and easy to control, but when the chips are down...it leaves me with doubts.

  • Stamped PRESCOTT AZ USA

  • 9mm sucks!

  • Ruger is copying Kel Tec thats about enough to make me through up.

  • Just buy a Kel-tec P3at. Same gun, cheaper price tag, and it WORKS!

  • i keep looking for a kel tec for under $300 and its been practically impossible

  • yeah thats nice i cant wait until FN herstal makes a small frame semi auto in 5.7 X 28mm

  • My LCP is at the factory right now so I'll leave a comment once I get it back

  • I'm pretty sure it's designed to do that. If it's of the tilting barrel (like the M1911) design the barrel will be loose when the chamber is open/slide back.

    No worries.

  • Thanks. I've since learned the answer. I appreciate your response. I've written the poster of this video and asked for my original question/comment to be removed, as it's been answered. Thx again.

  • I bought one about a month ago went to the range I fired six rounds and my brother fired another six and we both feel the same way about this gun. Nice to look at but garbage to shoot poor trigger pull and cheap feeling sold it after the 12 rounds and picked up a seecamp for pocket carry blows that junk away

  • Has anyone seen the recall that ruger has just issued for the older LCP models?

  • "Has anyone seen the recall that ruger has just issued for the older LCP models?"

Yes, I purchased my LCP on 10/13/08, and received notification by mail from the dealer on 11/1/08. I then went to Ruger's website, and signed up for the recall/upgrade service.

  • The LCP looks awsome, but Ruger really should have made more of them. Those things fly off the shelves faster then Ruger makes them. I can't find one anywhere in my state, and had to special order it. I've been told I'll be waiting at least a month.

  • AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • The more I watch this video the more I'm liken this gun! Thanks again.

  • I NEED IT!

  • Can't wait to get one! Too bad the waiting list is so long.

  • Nicely done video, that gun looks good. I am partial to Seecamps however. "all steel" Thanks.

  • i put mine on order at The Markesman here in t Tacoma Wa. I got it within 12 days. i like it.

  • I bought 100 rounds to break mine in and the trigger broke on the 21st round. Needless to say, I was very disappointed. I've sent it back to Ruger and await its repair. According to Google searches, the pivot pin is prone to breaking, crappy metal.

  • Well, just got it back from Ruger. They replaced a bunch of parts and gave me a free magazine with finger extension. I'll continue my break in this Sunday.

  • That Sunday I put 220 rounds through and had no problems. Today, I did not get to 30 before the firing pin broke. I guess it's going back to Ruger for repairs. I'm starting to get bad feelings about this pistol. Are pocket pistols this delicate? Or is it just Ruger cutting corners? I'm starting to like my brothers NAA Guardian more and more, even though it hurts my hand to shoot it.

  • NNA guardians are nice...the frame and slide on the those are made by Kahr Arms. How'd it go with Ruger returns?

  • I'm still waiting to get it back from Ruger. I'm considering the Guardian and Walther PPS as an alternate, for future breakdowns of the Ruger. I still love the size and weight of the LCP and I'm hoping Ruger fixes it for good.

  • It took a while to get it back. When I got it back I was much too busy with finals and Christmas to take it out for testing. I'm going to the Marksman here in Tucson this Sunday to test it out along with my new Walther PPS 9mm, woohoo!

  • I put my order in 4 months ago and picked it up yesterday. :)

Haven't shot it yet, but I'm looking forward to it.

  • how much they cost?

  • I got mine for $299 plus tax.

  • whats the website to buy?

  • I got mine at a local gun shop, the Marksman Pistol Institute, here in Tucson because they give you 30 days of no range fees and a few other perks. Just Google "ruger lcp" and it gives a few Shopping Results, but they are all backordered. Choose a dealer, prepay, and have patience.

  • I put my order in for one today. These things seem to be pretty hard to get your hands on.

  • It took 5 weeks to get mine, but I had to prepay to get closer to the front of the line.

  • YOU

    NEED

    IT

    god blesses the NRA

    rofl

  • p345 wit my life neday

  • Shit yeah!! P345D Decock only. Used to carry it concealed everywhere I went. Never jammed no matter what I fed it. Was it discontinued?

  • no it was not discontinued i just got a 2 tone 1 about 3 days ago. loud as hell i think

  • i was just about to get this til i heard so much shit on it........ now ive got a judge

  • Can we say Jam-O-Matic!?

    Too good to be true...

    FAIL!

  • Remember this gun is a defensive, easy to carry gun. Not an all day plinker. I'll take a pinched finger if it saves my life! And it's one of the easiest guns to carry.

  • Update:

I shot about 200 rounds of Winchester FMJ and had one Failure To Feed. I shot about 100 rounds of Remington UMC FMJ and had 9 FTFs! I looked at my barrel and the chamber inside had some machining marks and the surface was rough.

  • I hope it was just break-in period. I really like the gun because it is so small and light and I can hardly feel it in my pocket with Desantis Nemesis holster. This is a 24hr 7days a week type of carry gun.

  • I bought one for $270 last Friday and shot 170 rounds of Winchester flat FMJ. I was going to shoot 200 rounds but I had a blister on my trigger finger... your finger gets pinched between the trigger and the guard from the muzzle flip.

It had a failure to feed with the 146th round... kind of disappointing since my Glock 19 never failed for 6,000 rounds.

  • what type of round failed?

    jhp?

  • my DUH! (didn't read your entire post)

all rounds you fired were Winchester fmj?

  • great gun, although not too much to shoot. your finger gets pinched between the trigger and the guard from the muzzle flip. you are pretty sore after a box of ammo, but its not something you go target shooting with! perfect conceal carry gun and nicer than a kel tec. i'm buying one

  • SWEET! Been looking at this gun on different sites on the Web recently, will be my next pistol purchase, adding to the Tauras and Beretta I currently have... =p

  • I just bought one today and it looks and feels great I'll be more then happy to say more when I take it out and shoot it but so far its a winner in my book.

  • If you havew shot this gun, please let me know how it shoots and how is the recoil. Also, What do you think about it. I'm really considering this as my second choice gun for CC. At this time I carry a Glock 23 and its a litte bulky but I want a gun that I can carry when it very hot outside and the only clothing I have on is a pair of shorts.

  • I have shot it and it is a great gun. Pretty accurate for what it is and the recoil is easy to control. I love how it feels the only thing I dislike is the slide stop was manufactured only to help in the cleaning process and chamber inspection it does not hold open the slide on the last shot. Everything else is great.

  • Thanks for the info. If the slide dont hold open on the last shot that will be a big dislike for me.

  • That's what I said the only point it is there for and was designed for was to hold the bolt open for inspections. They were not designed to hold open on the last shot. You have to pull the slide back and then push the slide lock up. Its like whats the point.

  • Get a Glock 27... Why degrade yourself to a .380 when you are used to a .40?

You'll be real sorry when pull out that dinky Jam-O-Matic in a fire fight...

    Think about it.

  • Thats what i'm going with the Glock 27 and damn do i need it badly for a back-up gun. I have the Glock 23 right now but waqnt smaller.

How many time have you shot this ruger lcp?

  • A guy at the range let me put a magazine through his. I had it stove pipe on me twice. It could be the ammo, but still. A gun that jams "only once and a while" should be the last thing you would want to trust your life to. I've never had my Glock 27 jam. EVER.

  • I had my Glock jam on me only like 2 times due to limpwristing and or my mag springs are a little worn out but I will trust a glock with my life any day.

  • I have fired an LPC several times and there has never been a single jam, failure to feed, or failure to fire. The gun has worked flawlessly every time.

  • Looks like a nice little gun for the price I just hope that it looks and shoots better than a Kel-Tec cause I've heard there are alot of issues with the P3AT jamming and they need alot of repairs even brand new.

  • Nice Rip-off of the Kel-tec! the engineers at ruger must be proud of thier invention. Its good to see American companies do what the chinese do and copy other peoples products!

  • Ruger recognized the need for a QUALITY AND RELIABLE pocket pistol. This should be a call for Kel-Tec to step it up! Who benefits here? The consumer. This is obviously a better product than the Kel-Tec. Should Ruger be shamed for recognizing the need for a better choice in the CC market and meeting it with a better product than one that was already a huge sucess? Did Kel-Tec not have the opportunity to improve on their own design? Lesson learned......fall asleep at the wheel, you get run over!

  • I agree. Today I looked at both the Kel Tech and the Ruger. Hands down the Ruger is a better choice.

  • I wish I could give you more thumbs up on this.

  • Just because it is small does not make it a copy. That would be like saying any single stack full frame 45 ACP pistol is a copy of the 1911.

  • Has anyone here tried the LCP with hollowpoint ammo?

If so how did it function? Which brand hollowpoints were used?

  • I just got the Ruger SR9...and it's sweet. Ruger has a new fan. Its my first handgun. Now I want to get this too!!!

  • Just purchased a Lightweight Carry Pistol, perfect for when I am in my Speedo's! This is my first.380, mainly because Walther's are too heavy for such little punch, you can have a .40 for the weight trade-off, and Kel-Tec's are very crude to say the least. I like this little pistol, it fills in a lot of concealability gaps for me.

  • I played with this gun at the shot show last month and it's SWEET!!! I can't wait to get one myself! Anyone know what song they use in this vid?

  • Awesome...just placed my order with my local gun shop 2 hours ago. $288 plus tax (but only put 20% down)! :-) Now just gotta wait for them to get 14 pistols in stock as I'm number 14 in line, LOL. I've never been excited about a .380 pocket piece until now. Go Ruger!!

  • what does lcp stand for??

  • Lightweight Carry Pistol

  • i think I am going to have to get one of these!!! a better version of the kel tec

  • NICE, i was looking at getting a keltec but i guarantee this blows it out of the water. I like the grip, its going to compliment my p345 very nicely.

  • I just got mine on 3/5/2008, and was the first one around to get it. Any ways, it is by far better than the Kel-Tec. I have always been a loyal Kel-tec owner. In fact, when I went into the gun store, I was wanting to buy an new Kel-Tec. When he told me he had one of these coming in the next day via ruger rep, I paid $285 cash and waited for it. Went out and shot it with no jams and better accuracy than kel tec. Ruger is going to put kel tec out of business unless they can out do the LCP.

  • I've tried 2 P-3ATs, a gen 1 and a gen 2 and neither has been 100% reliable. This LCP is the same size, but significantly heavier and almost certainly made to a MUCH higher standard than Kel-Tec's guns. They started shipping this Saturday, and the first will be available for sale this week.

I will definitely be picking one up, $285 is the likely retail.

  • A P-3AT that actually works right out of the box. Almost too good to be true.

  • Kel Tec is assembling a posse with pitch forks and torches as we speak.

  • lol hilarious.

  • The Ruger LCP 380 (Lightweight Compact Pistol)has a MSRP of $330. I wonder if it will be equal or better than the Kel-Tec 3AT? The LCP has a slide lock, a Glock-like shell extractor and a much sexier look than the K-T. Will it have a lifetime warranty like the K-T? If, yes and better reliability (No jams) I am sold.

  • Im sure its going to be better then the Kel-Tec 3at my friend had one and it fell apart in his hand and I have a Kel-Tec pf9 and Ive had to take it to Kel-Tec 3 times for problems I also talked to a guy at a gun range that works for Kel-Tec and he said he would never buy one wish I would have knew before I bought it

  • Sucks the slide lock doesn't lock the slide back after the last round is shot though. They only put that on the pistol to help cleaning and chamber inspections. they should have put a spring in it to lock it open when empty.
