i dont know what is the big deal! metal is just another music style in the middle east, however it is unpopular to its counterparts like Rap,Techno, pop, folk and local. Unlike other parts of the world, the middle east is open to so many variety of music styles.there is no taboo against this music.
@sg137 Metality.net is releasing a middle eastern metal compilation album (Free download) soon with bands from ALL over the region .. Turkey, Lebanon, Jordan, UAE, Kuwait, Saudi, Algeria, Iran, Bahrain, and yes QATAR :) Stay posted on that website :D
This just in - NERVECELL signed with LIFEFORCE RECORDS (Eur / U.S.)..it was only a matter of time for them seriously. hardest fucking working band from the Middle East - well deserved! especially after their kick ass performance at this years WACKEN OPEN-AIR!!!
music must be for everybody and musn't be banned in any part of the world, what you're doing is amazing, keep on fighting, you're making a very important change for peace, freedom and tolerance! you have all my respect.
Yes you are right friend ,we were abused ,harrassed by government even to the extent of keeping us in a giant freezer, electifying and beating us,In egypt there is always people who are visited by police in the middle of the night accusing us of doing a revolution and satanic worship..
with all my respect , even if i was so stresed out as what one of those metallers said .. i wouldn't sit down disperately litening to any of those band who showed up in this show.. they all have done a great job by reaching to that point on the ladder but still i would prefer going back to the roots and listen to pure ones if it comes to taking my stress out ..
man those bands were one of the middle ages not the oldest but they are old those bands are not 1 or 2 years old some of them since the 90s
as for the oldest bands it was in the early 80s i can give you some songs for the first heavy metal band in jordan which was in 83 but recording isnt that much although it was recorded in 91
Metal fans, no matter where they're from, have so much in common (Jews and Muslims and whatever).
I say to those bands - Use YouTube to create one metal master piece (I don't know how... write it and edit it together somehow...).
That would be fu#$ing amazing thing to do, and if anyone could ever manage to pull such thing, to break all boundaries and political issues, is these guys with their music!
I think that all of us, Middle Eastern can co-exist, we have something fundamental in our blood, and it's metal.
We can join forces and start to spread the words and the music.
A short story: I'm an Israeli citizen, a Jew by religion and a metal-head science 1987.
One time, around 1991, I've entered to a music shop to buy some new metal records (back then it was the greatest music ever) and I saw two tall guys, long hair, chains in the jeans, they looked at the newest CD of slayer
That is ok if it is true and that it is not Neo Nazi Islamists showing their ugly head. I am a UK Jew have been Punk and metal fan in 80's. ther were two types of punks Nazis and Anti-nazis, which are they?
Dude, most arabs aren't against jews.. you just see the terrorists on TV... it's like making a generalization about Americans just by seeing the KKK on TV! PS: they hate Jews too! My parents taught me to tolerate people of all religions, sexual orientations, and political views...we're not savages! Don't listen to stereotypes!
Of course they have suffered oppression. I'm Lebanese and I know that. In case you forgot, they come from the controversial "Holy Land", meaning that they're dealing with (mostly) Jewish religious figures.
OMG man your talking to someone from israel @_@ the only "opression" we suffer from here is that there are two streets in the whoule country that you cant drive in at sabbath, there are no busses at sabbath and some stores arent open at sabbath, and thats totally legitimate....the ministry here was always democratic and it was never controled by religious figures.....i can say what i want think what i want and make any kind of music i want to make.
Oops, my bad! I just made a rash assumption, so my bad! Well, the Israeli bands shown on this video seem pretty good. Any others you can recommend? I can link you to some really good ones from Arab countries. Peace ^_^
music is music no matter where it comes from,,, each side of the world speaks abt their own experiances,, im a jordanian citizen and damn proud of it and well i love metal music,, and btw the middle east isnt as bad as u think actually its awesome however, there is good sides and bad sides almost to everything and no1 can judge a whole nation,, so please dnt assume that arabs are stupid or ignorant u should come visit smtime :P hehe,,,
actually i did visit jordan some time :D...at some ancient ruins site..cant recall..nice people tbh...and i didnt say they were stupid or ignorant...i just thought they didnt listen to metal music hehe
to be honest i didnt even know that arabs know what metal is..i mean its probably cause ive never seen(or heard?) an arab guy listening to metal..but what does it matter? :)
The report is amazing .. it shows our struggle to express ourselves while all what is different in us being into uncommon genre of music..
it is really sad reading comments about attacking this music while most of ppl in middle east are hailing for Arab pop music culture that become nothing but stripping shows .. and the funny part they dont see that a sign of end of times while metal music is :)
What the hell do you care about that!? Is all the metal music accepted by everyone in other countries or civilizations? Let's just take the good side of it which is the emergance of this kind of music to a region that was closed on itself for ages!
When Israel attack, they attack to fight against Hamas terror.
There is a lot of people like me who serve in the army because they love their country and not because they want to kill enemies soldiers, I will never kill an innocent like the Hamas did on their terror attack and I hate it when innocent people die in Israel's operations.
If I could decide, I was giving all the lands which we got on the war on 1966 for peace.
The majority of Arabs don't hate the Israeli people, we just don't like your government. It's a very controversial situation, and at the moment, I believe that diplomacy is the only solution....so if the governments don't want to make peace..let's make peace with MUSIC :D
thank u, i like that. but you must admit that the media is very anti-israel enabling islam fascists to manipulate The Gazan poeple and other refugees in the mid-east into gang warfare. I hope music can help to change this.

Seasons in the Abyss", Then I heard them talking' Arabic, i was totally shocked!, it was amazing for me to see those guys talking Arabic
This early cultural shock grants me the ability to be open-minded guy with an open outlook for anything.
Anything could happened, I've had friends from Syria, Lebanon and of course the west bank.
All of them, as myself, are metal heads, metal fans and most of it all - Humans
Peace, Salam, Shalom.

Of Course Israeli jews\arabs\druze are not opressed as the arabs in neighboring countries
This is why only few jews and arabs left the country while millions of arabs left the middle-east
