He'd be cool to see return to the role, but I don't know if that should happen if its a reboot. I don't know, he and the actor of Liu Kang seem to be in good enough shape to return if the story is set many years later.

If he doesn't come back and it's a reboot I think Ryan Reynolds or Chris Evans could be good in the role, but Linden was exceptional in the role.

well folks it doesn't look like there is gonna be a Mortal Kombat 3, at least not the one that Ashby is discussing here but besides that if they put Ashby back in as Cage how do they expect to explain to the audience how he has come back to life lol?!

@bcrusher3 If you can recall, the original play for mk3 was to override mk annihilation, meaning they would make the new movie as if annihilation never existed. So, basically mk 3 would be the new mk2 :) I don't think they will get it off eithre because its' been talked about for AGES but I would love to see it considering I was too young to take myself to the movies to see it xD

Linden Ashby is brilliant, hot, talented and extremely underrated actor. First I saw him in Mortal Kombat. He was super as Johnny Cage. Linden was awesome in TV series Spy Game (1997) and Melrose Place. I really adore him

@Magnolia296 I thought it was strange how Linden played TWO DIFFERENT ROLES in Melrose Place. season 1, he was Jo's abusive husband, Charles Reynolds, then he came back in season 5 when the show had gotten really bad (in seasons 4-7) as Dr. Brett 'Coop' Cooper

I've heard Chris Casamassa has confirmed his return as Scorpion. So I'm guessing they'll ressurect quite a few characters then but since that's the way the Mortal Kombat Universe works you can't really complain.

now that they are remaking every franchise that has had countless sequels and remakes over the last 4 decades. they will probably remake the original mortal kombat somewhere down the line. we wont ever get a ''true'' sequel.

i agree..hes the perfect Johnny. But as ive read on the little box at the top this was filmed in 2003?..Well on imdb they have a release date for 2010..I hope they make a real big effort and dont leave it for another few years.. They gotta make it bad ass!! Like 'The Dark Knight' scale.

Linden resembled Johnny Cage in both appearance (especially from the original game) and personality (the arrogant, self loving egotist) he was one of the movie's biggest highlights and why I love it so much! I wanted to know more about his as an actor after watching the film because he did so well in the role and all the actors were perfectly cast especially when you look at the horrendous casting for Street Fighter and Super Mario Bros.
