  • oh u r so missed Mr Lover man im 26 but i have loved u eva since i was young, they dont do them like this anymo... mcwaah much love..

  • Ya vspomnilm svoyu molodost

  • I think it's going the same way as Eddie Murphy and Johnny Gill, are they, aren't they? He has 4 children. The passenger in the car with teddy in 82 was a transexual. Alot of suspicious rumours. Never effected the quality of his music.

  • @daveyctvr i think its slanderous of you to talk like that when u dont know for sure about any of them. dont denigrate people; lift them up instead!

  • we all thought teddy was singing to the ladies but rerally he was talking to a man (lovers)

  • @daveyctvr why would that affect the quality of his music? that's kind of offensive

  • there was only one that could really sing these songs......RIP Teddy......

  • @scotoyibo ,you are so right, only him can sing these songs.

  • Great post, going to miss the guy,had the pleasure of meeting him twice, will never forget,a true gentleman,he knew what soul meant .

  • Teddy u will be missed..........

  • Not only was he a great singer, but from what I read of his son's online eulogy, he was quite the father as well. A great voice, a better man, not something that you come across these days, as most entertainers are drug addled losers. RIP Teddy

    Samantha

  • one of my all time favourite albums.

  • smooth

  • I love this song i need my boo with me right now!!!!!

  • I wore this cassette tape out back in the early 90s. I had to then go purchase the CD. This was hands down my favorite track but the entire album is slamming. I kept this song on repeat. I miss that soulful, sexy voice. I love you Teddy. I'm trying to find the 'Hold Me' duet with Whitney Houston. That's a beautiful song.

  • OMG i havent heard this song for a decade probably! thank you! how about the 2am song? oh, memories...and feelings.he's the greatest ever

  • This was my joint. I think I wore the ribbon out on the casette.

  • ouwhaou!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • SOOOOOOO GREAT!!!!!!! Thank You for sharing!!!!! OOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!

  • A House on Fire: The Rise and Fall of Philadelphia Soul this is great read to check out then it will give you the nitty gritty of what i am talking about its a shame how gamble and huff did him...teddy said...he wanted to be the next barry manilow...says uzipolo-king of decatur

  • no sylvia rhone and elektra records...they dropped him..

  • this was a famous albulm in theBLACK COMMUNITY but not in the eyes of the LABEL who ripped him off to shreds which is a damn shame when teddy had the accident that was it for him..see the ojays and teddy was TSOP record label bread and butter but it was a rap after the accident gamble and huff even stopped wriiten and producing for him (well at the end anyway, they did the same to lou rawls, but he was smart and left) he was a great talent i dont belive he was gay says uzi polo-king odf decatur

  • not true....after the accident he ould go and have gold records in 84.86, 88,91 as well as two more number one records as well as a lotta top 10/top 5 hits.....Elektra dropped him...G&H NEVER DID HIM WRONG.....they are great terms..

  • Gand H did him wrong as well as ALL the ARTIST on TSOP especially the song LOVE TKO which i think was his borring most lazy production top ten hit to date and as far as your info on the 84, 86 records that might be true but THEY WILL NEVER be better than his first solo release NOR his second one eithier G and H LATER looked out for teddy but not in the beginning but yeah after the acident TSOP was history anyway because lou rawls left and the ojays couldnt cut it-says uzipolo king of decatur

  • Read Teddy's book he never says G/H did him wrong...he did say that the contract was okay but as he went plat...he needed to renegotiate to reflect his status but he let it slide out of loyalty to G/H

  • Love TKO was #2 on R&B charts, the only other TP songs that beat it out for the #1 spot was Close the Door and Joy so I think most would disagree that it was a borring and lazy production but I guess that is YOUR opinion. Lyrically the song was sweet and clever; Teddy's delivery was more laid back than some of his other songs, but he did his thing as usual vocally but hey that's just MY opinion!

  • @msredhoney..love tko was boring and as far as slow jams goes lets compare the first albulm shall we(his best albulm) even the song ,,if i had was way better it had more substance and way better backround vocals...turn off the lights had way more background vocals as well, love tko was overrarted and boring..says uzipolo-king of decatur

  • uh uh

  • i guess before we go on any further i guess you need to read the book A House on Fire: The Rise and Fall of Philadelphia Soul by John A. Jackson to get a real understanding of what i am talking about the producers were more focused on his first two albulms WAY MORE thats why they were timeless classics and like i told taylor about the numbers thats BS because when you factor there was no bootlefgging/piratcy at the time and the TP at the later years could not go tripple or quadrupple platnuim

  • also i seen teddy IN THE 70's when he was on top of the world so i know what im talking about and have a valued opionion here so i still say after the fourth albulm as FAR AS ALBULMS it will never be better than the teddy pendergrass or the life worth singing albulm,, as far as people comming after him and stealing his shine i mean that happens to everyone it happend to sammy davis jr it happend to the beatles it happend to usher so thats understandable-says uzipolo-king of decatur

  • I agree the run from 1977-1980 he was on fire....from 82 on his voice lacked that power but the songs were still good if not great.....plus Its Time for Love didn't have all new G&H songs. they went to the vault and added old outtakes.....

  • @taylor4660, the reason his voice 'lacked the power' after '82 was the car accident... paralyzed from the waist down, his breathing suffered. He still came back and recorded some worthy material, and premiered Whitney Houston on one of his Asylum Records albums. Who among us can claim we'd have the strength of character to achieve that?

  • i cant find a video when he sings " 2 am "..

the favorite song of my girlfriend......

    can anyone help me,good damned!!!!!!!?????!!!!!

  • I've just done the video for you. check it out!

  • Well I did upload the track but youtube have banned it due to copyright!! if you give me your email address I'll send you the 2 am track

  • Great joint, great memories...

  • Next time someone makes you laugh they look at your face and say 'your smile is Gay!' Embarrassing you in front of hundreds of people. Then ask yourself 'does this person respect me and my feelings?'

  • How is it negative? It would have been fine to comment that it was a 'cheesy' smile but then calling it 'gay' turned it into an insult. I don't know how you treat family & friends but people I respect I often comment on aspects of attire or personality but I don't insult them. Your perception of gay men is questionable. Every guy I see on the street smiling with his mouth open must be homosexual then.

  • straight people that make gay comments later turn gay!!!!! B ware it will spread AND ur snEAKY AZZ WILL BE DA 1st TO B INNFECTED WITH GAY LUV

  • I never actually noticed the negative comment from Newworldr0b until you replied 2it. I have 2admit saying you respect someone then calling their smile horrible and gay is a slight contradiction. The track has a simple arrangement, inventive lyrics & powerful story. Try to remember this guy is paralyzed from the neck down yet delivers great vocals. He deserves the utmost respect from us all. If he'd died back in 1982 we wouldn't have this! Thanks Teddy!
