The score shows the Eb clarinet playing C-B-B-A, which sounds Eb-D-D-C, which is fine. In this performance, it sounds like the measure 13-14 passage is sounding Db-C-C-Bb! Not sure what led to that!
Thought your legato was great but I didn't see any dynamic contrast. Your left hand usage is great in this piece. Did you rehearse with the group often?
They could be using the older edition of the score. It has the solo for oboe OR clarinet (with oboe) and was based on the first set of parts as opposed to the manuscript. The new edition from the 80s is based on the manuscript which has the solo in the clarinet only. Both the old score and the manuscript can be viewed at IMSLP.

Very nice gestures and separation of limbs. I am an aspiring conductor myself, and I love to watch my colleagues do their work. I liked your impulse of will and personality on this performance. The only thing I would suggest is that in the beginning when it's very soft and mild, you could reduce your pattern size to virtually nothing and keep the gestures. Then as the peace grows increase your pattern size. If you keep it the same size in the beginning you have nowhere to grow to in the climax.
@ehelwagen Incorrect. The score indicates a clarinet solo. I am not sure why at times an oboe is used instead of a clarinet. The first recording I listened to I was anticipating a clarinet solo and heard an oboe and was rather confused. The score that Boosey and Hawkes publishes uses a clarinet for the solo in this movement.
Every time I play this on the flute, I almost cry

@iluvdehmusic if you are playing cues and they sound wrong then they are not transposed. I've had that happen.

i love how Holst passes that descending line through the different instruments at the end. Stunning performance.

If only the trumpet at the very end (2:28) had come in ON TIME... what a beautiful song and an outstanding job spoiled. So close to perfection...

I was fascinated by Gustav Holst - I even did a report on him for my college music theory class. An AMAZING composer!

I think you did a great job conducting, and the ensemble sounds fantastic, too!
