  • I had my gastric bypass Roux-en-Y surgery on Dec. 20th, so it's almost 2 weeks now for me. Thanks for pointing out the first couple of days after surgery are painful! That damn catheter going up my urethra was excruciating (I think it's worse for us guys). Now I'm home and I feel fine. Life getting back to normal. I'll be back to work in 3 more weeks.

  • Your camera girl is so funny! What a good sport. So glad your daughters and husband could be there for you. Looks like you are doing great. Of course you are. Now, the fun begins. Just be patient, especially the first few weeks while you get reacquainted with your own body! Looking forward to skooching over on the loser's bench to make room for ya!

  • Yes my camera girl is my oldest daughter Kathleen. I don't know if I could have gone through it without all of them the first couple of days. Eating is scary. I wait to see if everything new is going to be my undoing, if you know what I mean. I lost 9 pounds the first week and now the scale is standing still. I am sure it will start moving again.

  • Your body has gone through major ordeal. Give it a chance to catch up. Stick to high protein mushy food ans shakes - you'll be ok and you will lose weight.

  • Welcome to the loser's bench. Buckle up for the ride of your life over the next year. It will seem to drag but you will look back and be amazed at how quickly it actually did go by and how far you've come. I hate the catheters, I'd rather wear a diaper lol Best of luck!

  • Thank you so much...I thought this day would never get here and in a blink of an eye here I am. So the next year will be amazing.

    Thank you.

  • Hey, welcome to the losers bench. I have to say you look great and it wont be long and will be chugging along with the weightloss...thanks for the update and cant wait to see the future for you..

  • Thank you, I wil be doing another update next week.

  • Everyday will get better and better... Hang in there, and welcome to the looser's bench!
