Polaris was awarded this 3-D shoot from Forest Oil, who we are leased with. So, we didn't have a choice regarding who they hired. Apparently they obtained some good information about our area of Hill County, TX. Drilling really stepped up during most of 2008, but with falling natural gas prices exploration has dropped dramatically. We still remain optimistic for the future.
usually they set up at least 100 ft. from a well, but it's up to owner to allow them that close to a well. Also, always make sure you own mineral rights or these companies will run over alot of crap.
We were paid $5/acre, plus any damages to trees, crops, etc... Pretty much the going rate in our rural area. I have heard of others receiving anywhere from $10-25 depending on where you are in the Barnett. Urban areas will always pay more.
first time I have seen it. Thanks
