And it all started in Prosperous Kildare for Planxty.. some of the musicians that played in these early sessions with planxty and christy still play in Prosperous every friday night..
Robbie Williams, top ten, fame & signatures...who needs it?
Listen in to Planxty telling their timeless stories and the doorway to true music & artists will be thrown wide...Lads, thanks for the memories, the tears of joy, the pride you instill in my heart.
Marvellous, marvellous, uncomplicated fantastic Irish art & poetry in motion...
@unavailablenamemags Tá tú ceart, tá sé go halainn a fad. Cé go, ní mór dom a rá, go bhfuil an rithim fós le beagán ró-seasta, ba mhaith liom buíochas rubato roinnt níos mó!
we were in Galway, aran islands, conemara, and cliffs of moher last sept, weather was lovely, highly reccomend it, there's no place like the Emerald Isle. Slainte
You are correct Siobhan, I'm a West Limerick man and was corrected by many people locally and over the border (Kerry) where the Cliffs of Dooneen were, great song though, captures everything about that part of Ireland.
@1973Emmet West Limerick?Where about? My mom was from Glin. Her name was Cregan from Tullaleague.Have lots of family there.Cregans,Mullvihills,Dalys.Kerry too.In Listowel.Enrights,Finucanes.Love Planxty.Christ Moore can take an ordinary song and make it very special.
Saw Christy Moore at the Ballisodare Music Festival in August 1977 and in Sherkin Island a couple of weeks later. Great time
Great Music, ,immortal song.

I cry, because been there, too long ago! as the song says, there is really nothing that can compare with these cliffs ...
These musicians of Planxty are the true druids, they bring the magic of the ancient to life!
When in Ireland dont miss the cliffs or Doolin, Aran Islands, Ennistymon and the Mouth of Shannon, all ROCKS!
